Pandemonium and Rage in Hawaii

Why would my 22-year-old brother be calling so early on a Saturday morning? I’d ignored the first call. But the second time the phone rang, I picked it up. He was panicking, his voice trembling uncharacteristically: He’d just received the emergency alert warning of a ballistic missile that was heading for Hawaii, where I’m from, and where he and my family still live. “THIS IS NOT A DRILL,” the alert read. My brother was alone, and had no idea what to do or where to go. And he wouldn’t have had much time to figure out a game plan—some estimates

We wouldn´t be having this discussion if appeasing liberal cowards had sat on this family of self-proclaimed ´gods´ before they got their first nuke plant up and running. We might not have had to worry if our liberal cowards had actually done something about the missile work.

But noooo... Now Liberal Hawaii is having hiss fits because one of their ´well trained´ operators fried their brains for half an hour.

No. Sympathy. Here.

Give a bureaucrat two buttons, one representing a normal day and one representing nuclear attack, chaos, and confusion. Guess which one he presses? The button pusher will likely be the head of his division in a year or two.

OK, let´s play alternative history. Say the United States had left Hawaii an independent kingdom 125 years ago. The Japanese empire would have easily invaded and enslaved all the surviving natives, just like they did on Guam.

Social justice warriors will use any excuse to bad mouth their own country.

Everyone blaming Trump for what happened.
Sure sounds like part of the unhinged and ongoing effort to polarize and eliminate a constitutionally elected president.

In the days and weeks after 9/11 we were all united in the need to find and destroy those who had attacked NYC. It took the Leftists almost 6 months to start calling our military baby killers and war mongers. Bush (being no Conservative) accommodated the Left by instituting foolish ROE and made the war/peace efforts un-winnable and dangerous...losing a few thousand more Americans so as not to upset the Mooslims.

Trump, when challenged, will not make these errors.

I would even go so far as to speculate that just the presence of the Trump/Mattis/Tillerson triumvirate will prevent any substantial attacks on American interests. Better to wait for another Liberal president.

We´ve come a long way since the CD sentry guard with binoculars and M-1 rifle as a first defense for citizens.
We now witness a 22 year old clueless snowflake knowing nothing about the panic he caused when he lifted his head from his I-phone and realized what he did. He freaked out all the liberals and ruined their day and somehow it´s Trump´s fault. No Hawaii, that´s the reason you are still alive. Hawaii is the #1 target for Rocket Man.

Imagine how fast the liberal Democrats will be calling for the US Government to surrender to North Korea. Those would be the same liberal Democrats who are now trying to undermine the Trump Administration on every issue.

If the Trump Administration is unable to to get the Kim Dynasty to denuclearize the Korean Peninsula, resulting in the Kim Dynasty moving ahead with their long range missile and nuclear warhead plans, ending up with about 50-100 long range missiles and nuclear warheads, with which the North Koreans can threaten South Korea, Japan, and the USA, by announcing that they might initiate a nuclear strike against liberal utopias like Honolulu and San Francisco, if the USA does not get US Forces out of Northeast Asia, and turn South Korea over to despotic Kim Dynasty governance, that have been the ultimate North Korean strategic objectives since the 1950-53 Korean War.

It is interesting to see how many at least claim to believe the TV/movie fantasy of 100% instant annihilation of everyone anywhere near as the result of a "nuclear attack".

The shadow of any substantial structure will provide a huge reduction in the harm to a person exposed in the open. People who were a relatively short distance from the bombs used on Japan survived if they were behind a concrete wall, or other substantial barrier, but otherwise unprotected.
Getting into a storm drain would be a very good strategy, with the risk of drowning if the weapon created a tsunami. Also, there are huge mountains on the Hawaiian Islands, a nuke a half a mile away, but over a ridge would do massively less damage.

If you actually think that a nuclear attack has become more imminent, I recommend Nuclear War Survival Skills by Cresson Kearny. Available in hardcopy and for free as a pdf on line, it is a practical primer of how to prepare for and deal with the aftermath of a nuclear attack.

If you think that planning for survival is foolish "because nobody can survive it", you are very far wrong. They are big bombs, with horrific consequences, but if you are beyond their blast radius, you have a very high probability to make it, and should know what to do at that point. The book is worth a read.

Here,” Nancy Pelosi likes to say, “the currency of the realm is the vote.” With a majority of the votes in Congress, you have power. Without them, you have nothing. Pelosi, the House minority leader, knows it as well as anyone in Washington. She had the votes to make history in 2007 when she became speaker of the House, not only becoming the first woman to hold that title but in the process, rising higher in U.S. electoral politics—and closer in the line of presidential succession—than any woman before or since. Four years later, the votes were gone, washed away in

Observers are buzzing about a series of events in the last 60 days in the case of Michael Flynn, the Trump national security adviser who on Dec. 1 pleaded guilty to one count of lying to the FBI in the Trump-Russia investigation. The new developments might add up to very little or they might be significant. In any event, they are raising eyebrows. First, there is some mystery surrounding the removal of Judge Rudolph Contreras from the case. Just days after accepting Flynn´s guilty plea, Contreras was taken off the case by the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia.

Both those who sought to claim the Tea Party’s triumphs for their own conservative causes and those who sought to use the Tea Party as an umbrella term for every conservative policy idea they wished to discredit misunderstood it. Facing large debts that will be partly of his own making, thanks to last week’s spending bill, President Trump must now find sources of funding for his next big priority: the infrastructure bill he has promised. But on Tuesday, Transportation Secretary Elaine Chao expressed skepticism, stating that the tax has a “very regressive impact” on low-income citizens and that a gas tax hike “is not ideal.” Chao is right about this, but there’s a stronger argument still against relying

Remember, in the FISA-gate scandal such likely widespread criminal behavior was predicated on two premises: 1) certainty of an easy Clinton victory, after which the miscreants would be not only excused but probably rewarded for their zeal; 2) progressive hubris in which our supposedly moral betters felt it their right,

President Trump’s legal team is citing a three-pillar argument to convince investigators, and the public, that President Trump shouldn’t sit down for an interview with special counsel Robert Mueller. Mr. Mueller wants access to the president as part of an inquiry into suspected obstruction of justice in the firing of the special counsel’s longtime friend, FBI Director James B. Comey, in May. The president’s legal team has resisted but not given a firm no. Here are the arguments against an interview. • The White House has given Mr. Mueller unprecedented access to White House documents and people. • There is no stated crime. •

He preened with guns and knives on social media, bragged about shooting rats with his BB gun and got kicked out of school — in part because he had brought bullets in his backpack, according to one classmate. He was later expelled for still-undisclosed disciplinary reasons. The portrait of Nikolas Cruz, suspected of fatally shooting 17 people at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland and wounding 15 others at his former school, is a troubled teen with few friends and an obsessive interest in weapons. Administrators considered him enough of a potential threat that one teacher said a warning

Openly gay U.S. Olympic skier Gus Kenworthy broke his thumb while practicing, but don´t cry for him, because that just he means he won´t have to suffer the agony of shaking the vice president´s hand, according to him. It seems that the openly gay U.S. figure skater Adam Rippon is not the only one openly trolling the VP as he represents the United States at the Olympics. On Twitter, Gus Kenworthy expressed joy over breaking his thumb because of one "silver lining.""Broke my thumb yesterday in practice," he tweeted. "It won´t stop me from competing (obvi) but it does prevent me

President Trump’s needling of Senator Elizabeth Warren’s unsupported claim to Native American ancestry has hit its mark. Yesterday, the Massachusetts senator made an unannounced appearance before the National Congress of American Indians, the oldest national organization that claims to represent the interests of Native Americans and repeated her previously debunked claims in a particularly offensive manner. (snip) her claim implying that her paternal grandparents were racists in opposing marriage to an Indian-heritage girl is false and despicable, besmirching the reputation of long-dead ancestors for political gain. Michael Graham of the Boson Herald, no friend of Warren, easily debunks this claim

Was the presidential portrait of Barack Obama made in China? Sources say artist Kehinde Wiley — who painted the former president before a background of greenery and flowers — has studios in China and produces most of his work there. “It’s his base of operation,” said art critic Charlie Finch, who has known Wiley and appreciated his talent since they were students at Yale. “He has dozens of assistants working for him.” While Obama sat for Wiley for several hours, the portrait may have been sent to China to be completed. “Normally, Wiley sketches out the important parts, and assistants fill out the rest,”

A day after the Valentine’s Day massacre at a Florida high school left 17 people dead, the suspect´s public defender called the accused gunman a "broken child." Public defender Melisa McNeill appeared with the school shooting suspect, 19-year-old Nikolas Cruz, at a brief court appearance today. "My children they go to school in this community and I feel horrible for these families," McNeill said, adding, "and Mr. Cruz feels that pain." (Snip) Besides the 17 killed, more than a dozen others were injured, some critically, after the suspect stormed the school. Nineteen-year-old Nikolas Cruz -- who mowed down Parkland, Florida, high school students and teachers, killing 17 and wounding many others -- had been thrown out of the same school for threatening his classmates. He had been bragging to them about having a personal armory and implying he would use it, justifiably frightening them. Subsequently he posted a photo of that armory, including assault weaponry, on Instagram as well as a photo of a target riddled with bullet holes with the recommendation to try it as "group therapy." He also posted photos of dead animals, well known as a hallmark of serial
