The Value of Calling a
Shithole a ‘Shithole’

Breitbart National Security, by Frances Martel

Original Article

In a news cycle full of poverty, war, political intrigue, and all the usual torment, America’s media have wasted valuable time this week debating the value of President Donald Trump’s use of a bad word. (Snip)the left divides the world into “paradises” and “shitholes” all the time, depending on how much money there is to be had in duping apolitical Americans into buying their classifications. It takes barely any time to find a handful of examples of profiteers selling naive thrill seekers the notion that any variety of impoverished, exploited underdeveloped country is a secret oasis full of exotic beauty and

Martel marches us through a number of examples: North Korea, Belarus, the Republic of Iran, Congo, Cuba, and on and on.

Well worth a read. And passing on.

If one has travelled much, you will find that outside of Europe and the tourist facilities in the 3rd world, they are all pretty much s***holes, with some gradiation.

Most Americans are very unaware of what the rest of the world is like, learning too much from movies, TV shows and short tourist trips to the nicer parts of the nicer countries.

Hop in a car and drive yourself across some of these places, or just take a non-first class train across India or parts of the former Soviet Union. 90% of Russia, by land area, qualifies. Most Russians more than 15 miles out of a city live in crumbling log cabins with an outhouse in the yard. Russia is considered the first world, but don´t get too far from a city if you want to keep that fantasy going.

"S-hole" is a very flexible label (much like "fake news"). That "S" can stand for:
* The "expletive", causing all the fuss
* Squalor, my "preferred" term
* Sink, as in a resource drain (opposite of source)
* Sewer, where all that "expletive" goes

You can add to this list as you please.

If the MSM objects, then let´s have GMA, CBS This Morning, or Today broadcast live for two weeks from Port-au-Prince (with no shuttling back and forth to Miami for "breaks") to extol the wonders and beauty of Haiti and its culture, just as they do with an Olympic Games host. Then if we could only be flies (or microphones) on their hotel walls to hear what they really think of the place!

The most tormenting local news person has to be trolly little Dave Bryan, #NeverTrumper to his very core, salivating during his segment over the latest nastiness he can spew. He is having an absolute field day with this, but it is one of many.

The station is a local CBS affiliate, KCAL (Chennel 9). It used to be a nice little local news station. Suddenly they were infected with CBSitis and even the little Vietnamese anchor, who could barely speak English when she turned up a few years back, and had a chest as flat as a pancake or two, has become a rabid Trump-hater - and had a boob job. Sexified up but with the meanest attitude.

In Afghanistan (and many surrounding countries) the indeginous latrine facilities are LITERALLY holes over which you squat and defecate into the hole.

When these people use Western-style facilities, like port-a-potties, they squat on the seat to do their business.

I think that would make you a s**t-hole country.

The MSM is conniving and duplicitous. I´ve now read stories in which the President is accused, not of defamatory words describing third-world countries, but of defaming the populations of those countries. Moreover, he is accused of being "racist" just because some of those countries are largely populated by people of color.

If you´re living in a garbage dump, how is it racist to call the place a garbage dump?

When the cant and emotionalism subside, the Helsinki summit will go down in history as a turning point in this American president’s struggle to disembowel the bipartisan regime of complacency and lassitude he successfully ran against. It may also be a modest inflection point in U.S.-Russian relations. President Trump knew what he was getting into in holding a press conference with Vladimir Putin. He knew the press would ask him whose version of Russian meddling in the 2016 election does he believe? Putin’s? Or that of former U.S. intelligence agency directors John Brennan, James Clapper, and James Comey? The question

Former Republican congressman and non-interventionist advocate Ron Paul praised President Trump’s summit in Helsinki, Finland with Russian President Vladimir Putin, saying he believes the president “won.” In comments after Trump and Putin wrapped up a press conference together, Paul said he was “delighted” to see the two power players speaking while noting that the interventionist wings of the Democratic and Republican parties — commonly referred to as “neoconservatives” — are outraged by the meeting. Paul said: I would say that this was significant diplomacy. It has to be that the neocons aren’t very happy because Trump sounded pretty reasonable. And

President Donald Trump scored a diplomatic win on Monday at his summit with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Helsinki, Finland. The media, the Democrats, and the Never Trump contingent declared immediately that Trump had failed. But they were bitterly prejudiced against the meeting from the start, to the point where many insisted that Trump cancel it. To them, looking at the summit through the lens of “collusion,” the summit could only be the ultimate payoff for Putin’s election meddling in 2016. But viewed through the lens of diplomacy, the summit was a milestone in U.S.-Russia relations. Judging from their remarks at the press conference
