Of Crudeness and Truth
City Journal, by Andrew Klavan

Nothing scandalizes a leftist like the truth. Point out that women and men are different, that black Americans commit a disproportionate amount of violent crime, that most terrorist acts are committed by Muslims, and the Left leaps to its collective feet in openmouthed shock, like Margaret Dumont after a Groucho Marx wisecrack. This is racism! This is sexism! This is some sort of phobia! I’m shocked, shocked to find facts being spoken in polite company! No one is really shocked, of course. This is simply a form of bullying. The Left has co-opted our good manners and our good will

The Left are shocked and appalled that someone chooses to speak the truth, if he actually said it. Only Dick Durbin and Lindsay Graham have declared that he said it, and they´re both rabid Trump haters. PDT certainly knows how to energize us deplorables while making Liberal heads explode.

An amusing tale is told about Harry Truman´s verbal tendencies and his wife Bess. Someone asked her to try to get him not to say "manure". She replied that it had taken her a long time to get him to use the word "manure".

FTA: For all the bad language, for all the loose talk, I would rather hear a man speak as a man without fear of the Nurse Ratcheds in the press and the academy than have him neutered and gagged by a system of good manners that has been misused as a form of oppression. Better impoliteness than silence. Better crudeness than lies.

Absolutely true. Sometimes I cringe a bit at a few of PDJT´s crudities, but after a few days of leftist hyperventilation and some reflection from us, darned if the president wasn´t right!

"I wish a man like Ronald Reagan would come along and accomplish the same thing with more wit and grace."

To be honest, I am not convinced that Ronald Reagan could have accomplished what Trump has. The Left is FAR more unbalanced. The media has abdicated any sense of objectivity and is willing to lie and use almost any tactics to push a Leftist agenda. The bureaucracy is corrupt and out of control.

Reagan´s humorous cajoling would be completely ineffective against such people. Reagan gave orders and could expect them to be obeyed. That´s simply not true anymore.

The truth is we desperately NEEDED Donald Trump to bulldoze through the swamp. He thrives on confrontation and has the genius to undercut his opponents in ways that leave them exposed as the fools they are and helpless. He delivers truth like a bayonet.

He also understands business intimately. Part of the attack of the Left against this Country is to starve it´s fuel, free enterprise. Our ability to carry out business has pushed this Country and it´s people to the top to the world. In business, it´s the mostly the people who deliver that rise. Business success benefits everyone by delivering better and cheaper products that raise our standard of living in every conceivable way.

Trump lives and breathes this stuff and KNOWS that this Country was designed to support it. He innately knows the Left´s tricks, the danger of them, and how to expose and eviscerate them.

Apologies to Reagan but the knowledge, skills, and bravado needed for today belongs to Trump and pretty much Trump alone. He is accomplishing and setting a tone that could be as important as was the founding ideas of the Country. A national resurrection infused with the vitality of modern times.

"I think it is the natural earthiness of Trump that appeals to the mass of "normal" people in the U.S. He is not the only prominent politician to speak to the masses in language that is natural to them.

I don´t know if the following story about Harry Truman is actually true, but I have read it in so many different sources that it must have at least a grain of truth to it.

Harry Truman made a speech at the Washington Garden Club. He gave credit for his beautiful flowers to the good "manure" he used to fertilize them. The prim and proper ladies didn´t think much of the President´s repeated use of the word "manure." One of them said something to the First Lady, Bess Truman. She asked Bess if she could make him stop using the word "manure." It was a vulgar word in their opinion, and he was, after all, the President of the United States.

Bess replied, "Heavens no! It took me twenty-five years to get him to say ´manure.´"

Two students from Marjorie Stonemason Douglas High School attacked National Rifle Association spokesperson Dana Loesch as a bad mother during the CNN Town Hall on gun policy on Wednesday night. The students had survived last week’s shooting, which left 17 dead and over a dozen wounded. One student, Cameron Kasky, said onstage while questioning Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL): “I wish I could have asked the NRA lady [Loesch] a question … I would ask her how she can look in the mirror, considering the fact that she has children, but, you know, maybe she avoids those.” “What was that, I’m sorry?”

President Donald Trump attended a White House listening session on Wednesday to hear the grievances of those affected by mass shootings in the United States. There were a number of heated exchanges and demands for the White House to do more to prevent such terrible atrocities, such as the deadly mass shooting in Parkland, Florida last week that killed at least 17 people. The newest iteration of the gun control debate concerns whether teenage survivors of last week’s shooting at the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida, should be immune from criticism when they argue for gun control. This is a relatively new question: other school shootings, like Sandy Hook in 2012, have involved children too young to have opinions. But the answer is no: once you enter the political arena, your views are fair game.Democrats have perfected the art of using sympathetic public figures to argue for positions most Americans reject, then accusing critics of mean-spiritedness when they disagree. We saw that tactic

Neither was he a prophet. Jesus said "a prophet hath no honor in his own country."
