Of Home Truths and Shitholes
American Greatness, by Roger Kimball

It is curious how close certain seemingly contrary emotions can be. Consider, to take just one example, the feelings of glee and outrage. At first blush, they seem very different. Glee occupies a positive register in the metabolism of human emotions. (Snip) Outrage, on the contrary, is a dour beast. It glowers. It fulminates. It glories in moral indignation, which it eagerly manufactures whenever it is in short supply. And it is there, in the manufacture, affectation, the pretense, of moral indignation that that outrage shades in smarmy gleefulness. You can see this in operation right now, today, by the simple expedient

“…the Haitis of the world are conspicuously undesirable places.”

Absolutely. And their “immigrants” have nothing to offer to our country. They come here to take. To colonize here. Not to contribute.

How many have we seen this with? Somalis in Minnesota come to mind. And some like the massive savage (you have seen those tattoos) El Salvadoran MS 13 gang have come to rob, rape and kill us. Why would we want them to stay here?

I do not care how crude the language is when truth is spoken.

The other side of the coin: A genteel lie is still a despicable lie.

It is extremely simple, extremely obvious.

Some countries barely qualify for the title. Some countries are spectacular examples of wholesale failure of government, culture, economy, education and all other things that would be used to measure a "nice life" in a "nice country".

We do not need even one more person bringing their knowledge of failed government, dysfunctional culture, violent interactions, and complete lack of education to our country.

We need to have some standards, and they need to be high, not low to non-existent.

Keeping out failed, dysfunctional, dependent, likely criminal, people from sh**holes is a really smart move, like not going there is, too.

The level of ignorance accompanied by virtue signalling of the regressive left totally misses the point that illegal aliens are bringing nothing beneficial to the USA. They cost us in innumerable ways, the destrucion of lives by smuggled drugs (opioids kill), crime fills our jails, schools, hospitals and welfare are overburdened, the cost of the wall is pennies in comoarison to all these other costs in billions. Immigration based on merit is by far the wisest solution and expedient contingent upon the rate of assimilation into the American way of life

However, for those who have been frustrated about the lack of righteous push-back from the executive office; the attacks from the former “spygate” co-conspirators might be just what is needed to trigger President Trump to declassify the underlying material. Consider the tweets from James Comey (former FBI), John Brennan (former CIA), Sally Yates (former DOJ), and statement from Ash Carter (former DoD).(Tweets) Think about the bigger questions: Why would former administration officials feel the need to engage in such discourse? The National Guard´s deployment to the southwest border in mid-April has led to 10,805 "deportable alien arrests" of people who illegally entered the United States from Mexico, a U.S. Customs and Border Protection spokeswoman said Monday. Because guardsmen are military personnel and not law enforcement officers, they cannot apprehend illegal immigrants. But CBP officers and Border Patrol agents apprehended thousands of people that guardsmen helped point out.The National Guard´s presence also helped lead to the interception of more than 3,300 others who were turned back before they crossed into the U.S., CBP press secretary Corry Schiermeyer said in an email to

Ron Paul: ‘Trump Won’ in Summit with

Former Republican congressman and non-interventionist advocate Ron Paul praised President Trump’s summit in Helsinki, Finland with Russian President Vladimir Putin, saying he believes the president “won.” In comments after Trump and Putin wrapped up a press conference together, Paul said he was “delighted” to see the two power players speaking while noting that the interventionist wings of the Democratic and Republican parties — commonly referred to as “neoconservatives” — are outraged by the meeting. Paul said: I would say that this was significant diplomacy. It has to be that the neocons aren’t very happy because Trump sounded pretty reasonable. And

President Donald Trump scored a diplomatic win on Monday at his summit with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Helsinki, Finland. The media, the Democrats, and the Never Trump contingent declared immediately that Trump had failed. But they were bitterly prejudiced against the meeting from the start, to the point where many insisted that Trump cancel it. To them, looking at the summit through the lens of “collusion,” the summit could only be the ultimate payoff for Putin’s election meddling in 2016. But viewed through the lens of diplomacy, the summit was a milestone in U.S.-Russia relations. Judging from their remarks at the press conference

The old aristocracy was born of battle, a warrior aristocracy. Then the reins were handed off to the bourgeois, the wealthy capitalist class. Today we have an aristocracy of opinion made up of the managerial elite. Their chief credential is their credentials, as well as their having professed the right opinions. Among this class, much of what passes for deep thinking—whether on economics, foreign policy, or anything else—is in fact a repetition of stale conventional wisdom. The managerial elite’s thoughtlessness is never more apparent than in the case of foreign policy. This week Donald Trump, yet again, has angered and

No. But it´s not an unimportant issue, either, and Trump knew the American press is obsessed with it. So he knew it would play a big role in the Trump-Putin post-summit news conference. There are all sorts of aspects to the Trump-Russia affair, but in light of special counsel Robert Mueller´s decision to indict 12 Russian intelligence agents on the Friday before the Monday summit, the president also knew reporters would want to hear him specifically affirm
