President Trump signed a proclamation honoring Martin Luther King Jr. at the White House Friday afternoon. In attendance was MLK’s nephew, Isaac Newton Farris Jr., who gave short remarks about his uncle’s legacy and thanked the president for the proclamation. (Photo) After the event, CNN asked Farris what the president said to him in private. Farris said that Trump told him, “I’m not the guy being described in the media.” CNN then asked Farris if he thinks Trump is racist. Farris said: I don’t think that President Trump is a racist in the traditional sense as we know in this

Sounds like a lot of double talk from a not too bright relative of a larger-than-life public figure. So I would ask Mr. Farris what makes him (or Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, et al.) qualified to decide who is racist and who is not. Just because you have more pigment in your skin doesn´t qualify you to pass judgement on our POTUS or anyone else.

I think President Trump is racially ignorant or racially uninformed.

I would ask nephew of what would he inform Trump about viz racism so that Trump wouldn´t be so "racially ignorant".

What is the secret knowledge we whiteys need to know that we don´t already know about black people or Hispanics? We know our history: Slavery bad but no one in the last few generations in America own slaves.

Enlighten me, nephew. What don´t I know about people of color?

Hungarian prime minister Viktor Orban won big in his nation’s election Sunday, and progressives are furious. Orban’s right-wing party, Fidesz, got right under 50 percent of the vote. Fidesz’s next closest competitor was another right-wing party, Jobbik, which earned 20 percent of the vote.Liberals who were hoping that Hungarians would turn out for the center-left were dismayed that 70 percent of the population voted for the Right. Especially when the country had a record turnout, a sign that was previously thought to be a bad omen for Orban.Since Hungary is a democracy and the people made their preference very clear, there’s

The L.A. district attorney´s office announced this week it would not bring sexual assault charges against director James Toback, but it continues to consider what to do about Harvey Weinstein and the sexual assault allegations against him. The DA has been reviewing the case for several weeks, and prosecutors could take significantly more time to decide what to do.The stakes are high, given that revelations against Weinstein began the #MeToo movement and a series of allegations about powerful men in Hollywood and beyond. Facebook has spent millions of dollars lobbying the U.S. government since its official inception in 2009. As the company has grown in affluence and influence, so too has the public’s distrust, despite persuasive funding. People and lawmakers from all ends of the political spectrum in recent months have been sternly chastising the tech giant for various grievances. From a partnership with a Trump campaign-employed data analytics firm that violated a data usage agreement, the purported revelation Facebook compiles certain app users’ call and text logs, to the allegations it helped Russian operatives sow seeds of discord among the American electorate
