WASHINGTON -- Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) confirmed that he said his "piece" to President Trump in an Oval Office meeting Thursday at which the commander in chief allegedly derided immigrants from "shithole" countries. Graham, who was one of a handful of senators inside the meeting to discuss immigration reform, issued a statement that touched on his version of what unfolded as another lawmaker in the room, Sen. Dick Durbin (D-Ill.), told MSNBC that Graham confronted Trump on his remarks. The Washington Post reported that Trump made the comment during an Oval Office meeting with immigration negotiators including Sens. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) and

DACA - Obama broke the law when he illegally used an executive order to supersede congressional action concerning DACA. The USA has spent billions upon billions of USA taxpayer dollars since 1950 on foreign aid to third world hellholes to improve the lives of their citizens. After all these years there are still the hellholes. President Trump is correct! Let the citizens of those hellholes clean up their own societies.

Realize that all the leftistliberal Democrats have left to attack President Trump is a bogus race card.

In this matter, the Senators were in a “closed door” private meeting with the President at the White House to discuss changes in the immigration laws. In that case all the participants in the meeting are entitled to a level of confidentiality, so that the participants can openly discuss their current positions on the issue. Running to the liberal media in an attempt to embarrass the President is not cool and serves no purpose other then to try to gain a Democrat political advantage.

In this case it already appears to have backfired, as most of the people in the country know that Trump was echoing their view when it comes to “S**thole” countries sending masses of their unwanted poor, uneducated, unskilled, and socialist oriented populations to the USA where a big percentage of them then depend on government provided social welfare benefits and services to survive.

Maybe it´s my reading comprehension, but I don´t see Graham confirming Trump using the cesspool language. I see him proclaiming he objected to, and confronted the president on the idea of immigration from perceived failed states, and he (Graham) oddly enough, ranked Ireland among them.
But the s--thole still begins and ends with Durbin. Fitting.

The New York Times has been a prime proponent of the Trump/Russia collusion illusion. Andrew McCarthy usefully reviews the iterations of the illusion in “Collusion 3.0: Russia and the NRA.” McCarthy notes that the first attempt to suggest a conspiracy between the Trump campaign and the Kremlin to subvert the 2016 presidential election centered on Carter Page and originated in the Steele dossier helpfully produced by the Clinton presidential campaign. McCarthy observes that Steele himself backtracked on the dossier in the face of libel lawsuits. Unable to make out the veracity of the dossier, Steele has taken the position that his

The true story of the Immigration and Naturalization Act of 1965 is almost unbelievable. I don’t know of a single statement regarding the effects of the act made its congressional proponents that proved to be true. Either they did not know, or could not frankly admit, what they were doing. Yesterday’s Wall Street Journal carried a column by NPR News correspondent Tom Gjelten on “The curious history of chain migration” (behind the Journal’s subscription paywall). Although he doesn’t put it this way, Gjelten makes the case that the proponents of the provision authorizing chain migration didn’t know what they were doing.

The good news on the transportation front is that Tampa Bay’s government and business leaders are working together like never before to connect the region’s largest cities, attractions and employment centers with a more robust mass transit system. They are wisely focusing on a direct route across Tampa Bay as the first major project toward improving regional service. But they are prematurely embracing a rapid bus system and dismissing light rail because buses are less expensive and more politically expedient. The consultant hired by the Florida Department of Transportation, Jacobs Engineering, presented its recommendation Friday for what it envisions as a

Last night, in considering which party will be blamed the most for a sustained partial government shutdown, I mentioned two polls. The first, by the Washington Post, found that, by a 20-point margin, more Americans will blame President Trump and Republicans than Democrats. This, I believe, is similar to what most polls are showing, even though it was the Dems who voted to defeat a bill that would have kept the government functioning fully. However, the second poll I mentioned, by CNN, suggested to me that Republicans might gain the upper hand in the blame game. That’s because of how the

Much has been said and written over the years about the blessings conferred by multiculturalism on the countries that have opened their doors to large numbers of immigrants and refugees. Multiculturalism has, apparently, fostered the (unexplained) virtues of “diversity,” repaid a debt incurred by the colonial West to those it has exploited, led to economic productivity, and contributed to the putative boon of an anti-border globalist world in which national animosities and military strife will become a thing of the past. This was the idea behind the Schengen policy adopted by the European Union, the Diversity Visa Lottery or “chain migration”

OMB Director Mick Mulvaney is one of the all-stars among President Trump’s cabinet level appointees. President Trump had the inspired idea to appoint him acting director of the constitutional monstrosity known as the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau when Richard Cordray departed to run for elective office. Before his departure, however, in the lawless spirit of the bureau itself, Cordray sought to name his own successor. We admired his performance facing down the media in “Mulvaney meets the press.” With the help of her Democrat friends riding high in the Obama era, Elizabeth Warren designed the bureau in her own imperious image.

We’ve passed midnight here in the East, so the government shutdown has commenced, at least technically. WASHINGTON — The federal government shut down at the stroke of midnight Friday, halting all but the most essential operations and marring the one-year anniversary of President Donald Trump’s inauguration in a striking display of Washington dysfunction. Last-minute negotiations crumbled as Senate Democrats blocked a four-week stopgap extension in a late-night vote, causing the fourth government shutdown in a quarter century. The slide toward closure lacked for high drama: The Senate vote was all but predetermined, and since the shutdown began at the start of a weekend, many of the immediate effects will be muted for most Americans. In December, the publisher announced its decision to cancel many of its comics, citing poor sales. LGBTQ, feminist, and social justice-themed comics involving stories that revolved around Black Lives Matter, illegal immigration, and LGBTQ issues were among those to end up on the chopping block.
