There could never be anything worse than losing a child. Clapton turned his grief into "Tears in Heaven," but don´t you know he´d give anything to trade that great song for having his son back again. The tears weren´t only his. God bless Eric, the father.

Re #3: "I never knew how he could sing that song in public."

Eric sang that most personal song on his acoustic "Unplugged" album. He could sing it live for the same reason that Elton John sang his and Bernie Taupin´s "Candle in the Wind" (reworked for Diana) in her funeral service: because he is a professional. That doesn´t make it any easier. But a pro performs. Eric and Elton are among music´s ultimate professionals.

Clapton is a very talented man. It is a miracle that he´s still alive after abusing drugs, alcohol and living through the loss of his child.

I think he can play that song because it´s cathartic. For a musician, working your problems out through your craft can be tremendously satisfying and help to heal wounds. I´m glad he has this outlet, just as I´m glad those of us who aren´t musicians have music of others to help us through our struggles.

I wanna see this doc.
