LAKELAND, FL - Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd has identified the suspect in this morning´s deputy-involved shooting in the area of Highway 33 and Combee Rd. in Lakeland. Joshua Imhoff, 32, is listed in critical, but stable condition at Lakeland Regional Medical Center, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Judd says Imhoff is a career criminal, having spent stints in state prison in both 2009 and 2013. Judd says the chase started on I-4 before 6 a.m., following a domestic disturbance. The suspect first fired shots at an unmarked sheriff´s vehicle following him. Deputies returned fire. After deputies were able to run the suspect´s vehicle off

Comments:
Sheriff Grady Judd just said (on radio), "Shoot at our deputies, and we´ll shoot back. A lot." Yes, that´s what they will do, if necessary.

Lotsa people shootin´ at the police, aren´t there?
Might have something to do with all these career dopehead criminals coming out of the revolving door of the "justice system".
Our area had an officer shot by a criminal that the probation dept. said was "unsuited for another attempt at community probation of any type". You guessed it...he was out on probation from multiple felonies last year.
You might want to think about that 2nd amendment right, if you haven´t already.

#2, this criminal should not have had a gun. Criminals --and he sounds like a really bad career criminal-- somehow illegally get their hands on guns.

I suspect that once again, during sentencing a weapons charge was negotiated down which lessened the thug´s prison term.

If a weapon is used in the commission of a crime, send them to prison and do not let them out

Why would anyone in that county test the system? He is nationally known for no nonsense.

I spent the better part of two sunny days indoors writing about authenticity for a Greek magazine, a strange subject in view of how inauthentic politics are in that Brussels-run southeastern outpost dotted with islands. Mind you, what is taking place in the West makes Greek politics seem ideal by comparison. The witch hunt is on, and it’s as phony as the one that burned those poor women in Salem long ago. As they gear up for November’s Congressional election, the Democrats are peddling a fantasy view of events in America: Trump the racist, Trump the trampler on the First Amendment, Trump the warmonger (or something), Trump-Russia collusion, the Republicans as servants of the rich. To an even greater degree than usual, this election will feature a head-on collision between such fantasies and reality. The reality is that the Trump administration’s policies have been remarkably successful. This is most triumphantly illustrated by the GOP tax reform package, which no Democratic president would have signed into law. Its beneficial effects have already been widely

We learn from Senator Johnson’s letter to FBI Director Wray that the Department of Justice has turned over 384 pages of text messages between FBI counterintelligence officer Peter Strzok and FBI attorney Lisa Page. (We also learn that five months’ of text messages between the infamous FBI couple during the critical period culminating in the appointment of Robert Mueller as Special Counsel have disappeared.) What do the newly disclosed text messages reveal? Strzok and Page seem to have been in the loop on then FBI Director’s forthcoming exoneration of Hillary Clinton. The Camden County Sheriff´s Office had been looking for 24-year-old Bradley Herbert Hardison of Elizabeth City in connection with two break-ins. For nearly nine months, he was a man on the run. Authorities finally caught up with Hardison and arrested him on Wednesday, just hours after he won the adult division of a doughnut-eating contest at the Elizabeth City Police Department´s

LAKE WALES — Police say two improvised explosive devices ignited inside a mall in central Florida on Sunday do not appear to be an act of terrorism. Lake Wales police Deputy Chief Troy Schulze tells news outlets that at 5:22 p.m., the Lake Wales Fire Department received an alarm call at the Eagle Ridge Mall. While en route to that call, their alarm for smoke was turned into a structure fire call. As they arrived, they found smoke in the service corridor just outside J.C. Penney. They discovered an IED that ignited or detonated inside that service corridor as they went inside. Schulze

Democrats called it the Trump shutdown. Republicans labeled it the Schumer shutdown. But in reality, it was the Dreamer shutdown. The recipe for the current congressional gridlock is complex, but at the top of the list of ingredients are the illegal immigrant Dreamers who pushed Democrats to launch the filibuster that sent the government careening into a partial shutdown. It’s a stunning display of political leverage for a group that, at most, numbers several million, can’t vote now, and even under the most generous proposals wouldn’t be able to cast ballots for another decade. It´s no secret that Mitt Romney is, in all likelihood, going to run for a Senate seat in Utah. What´s less clear, however, is why the man who was the 2012 Republican presidential nominee and is now retired and occupying an elder-statesman role in a party torn into warring factions would want to serve as a junior senator. Once elected, Romney would find himself embroiled in day-to-day congressional fights and less free to voice his criticisms of the White House, while losing some of the deference he´s been shown by members of his own party. Investigators in both House and Senate were stunned late Friday when, receiving a batch of newly-released texts between FBI officials Peter Strzok and Lisa Page, they also received notice from the bureau that the FBI "failed to preserve" Strzok-Page messages from December 14, 2016 through May 17, 2017. Given the amount of texting that went on between Strzok and Page, who were having an extramarital affair, that probably meant thousands of missing documents. A number of critical events in the Trump-Russia affair occurred between December 2016 and May 2017, including: Conversations between Trump national security adviser Michael Flynn and Russian ambassador Sergey
