Baltimore hospital says it ´failed´

A Baltimore hospital says it “failed to fulfill our mission” and is conducting an internal investigation after shocking video emerged of a patient being discharged at a bus stop on a frigid night while wearing only a gown. The video, which was posted online by Imamu Baraka early Wednesday, has gone viral and shows the patient, who had not been identified, walking around slowly and moaning outside the University of Maryland Medical Center Midtown Campus. “Wait, so y’all just going to leave this lady out here with no clothes on?” Baraka says to a group of workers as they´re walking

If this video actually happened as it appears,it is one of the most appalling things I have ever seen. Almost unbelievable.

I cannot imagine the justification for dumping anyone out on the street virtually naked in the middle of winter.

Thank goodness for the young man who took the situation in hand.

My very first reaction was that the guy with the camera is an "activist" and that this is all a set-up.

I cannot imagine a scenario in which this is acceptable, under any circumstance. I also can´t imagine ever just dumping someone on the street even if I were instructed to do so by my superior. As is usually the case there´s more to the story. But unless this guy and the woman somehow staged the whole thing, I just don´t see how there can be any justification for this.

This becomes all too believable when you remember Michelle Obama´s makework job at that Chicago hospital. Her job consisted of patient dumping as well. One hopes those patients at least went to other facilities, not just dumped into the street.

I think the hospital situation just might be worse than we know.

Activist or not, watch the video. They dumped that lady in a gown and obviously ill and beat up on the street. They all walked away. The hospital security did not care. There is no way that was a "set up". That lady needs help.
Dreadful.

As shocking as this is, it happens a lot. Homeless people constantly use the Hospitals for ´shelter" on cold nights here. They come in complaining of illnesses when really all they want to do is hang out in the waiting room. But, if they do not present with an illness, the security will throw them out. So, they fake illness, clogging the system for really seriously sick people, over stressing the staff. Police are reluctant to get involved in the situation due to the sensitivity of the homeless issue. So, the "homeless" act out when the Dr.s/Nurses determine they are faking and won´t admit them. The cost for this must be staggering.

My guess is this gal was faking an illness for what ever reason (probably had no place else to go), refused to get dressed, began hysterics, acting crazy hoping for at least a psych ward night or two, a free meal, and some TLC in a clean bed, possibly some drugs, too. They got sick of her BS disruptions of their emergency room and tossed her. NO ONE would knowingly, deliberately throw a genuinely ill person out of the hospital via three huge hulks of security guards on a cold night in Baltimore in nothing but a hospital gown... No one!

I have read elsewhere of the utilization of the ER by homeless and drug-addicts.

They take up extremely expensive space and the talents of highly-trained staff who then are not available (even temporarily) for the desperately ill.

If people go to the ER who are not really in need of emergency or any medical care, they will be sent away. As they should be. It is not the role of the hospital to be a homeless shelter.

It´s bad enough that hospitals have to treat all ill people regardless of their ability (or willingness) to pay, but we will bankrupt them and the rest of the tax-paying public if they have to offer shelter and food to the indigent and drug-addicted.

I wonder what the whole story of this incident really is? True brutality, a scam, a set-up by the guy who took the video? We don´t know.

I don´t care who she was or why the hospital put her out, somebody could have given her a blanket and put her shoes on. If she is mentally ill, why not put her in a psych ward somewhere?

More importantly, why was this man filming instead of calling the police right away?

President Trump on Saturday launched a remarkable defense of his mental fitness for office, calling himself a “very stable genius” and “like, really smart.” Trump made the defense in a series of tweets that appeared to push back on questions raised by a new book that painted a chaotic and dysfunctional picture of his campaign and early months of his presidency. “Actually, throughout my life, my two greatest assets have been mental stability and being, like, really smart,” Trump tweeted. President Trump once again took up his criticism of the FBI’s second-in-command, Andrew McCabe, Sunday morning after spending much of the previous day questioning McCabe’s position in the bureau. Apparently quoting a segment from Fox News, the president alleged McCabe used his FBI email to promote his wife’s campaign for the Virginia state Senate. “.@FoxNews-FBI’s Andrew McCabe, ´in addition to his wife getting all of this money from M (Clinton Puppet), he was using, allegedly, his FBI Official Email Account to promote her campaign. You obviously cannot do this. These were the people who were investigating Hillary Clinton,´" Trump tweeted.

Congressional investigators believe they are barely beginning to answer the questions raised by the text messages between the FBI´s Peter Strzok and Lisa Page. For several reasons: 1) Strzok and Page were more prolific texters than anyone knew. In a statement late Monday, Attorney General Jeff Sessions said FBI investigators have found "over 50,000 texts" in their review of Strzok-Page communications. 2) Even with all those texts, the FBI says it cannot find the couple´s messages between Dec. 14, 2016, and May 17, 2017 — a critical time in the Trump-Russia affair.
