Former Florida Gators defensive back and Jefferson High star Deiondre Porter faces 10 years in prison after accepting a plea deal on felony charges including aggravated assault, battery on a pregnant woman and robbery with a firearm. His no-contest plea was accepted last week, according to Alachua County court records. If convicted, Porter could have been sentenced to life in prison. Porter was accused of criminal wrongdoing in two separate incidents. The first was in October 2015, when police alleged that he shot a handgun near his pregnant girlfriend. The Gators dismissed him from the team immediately after his arrest. The second incident

Even when someone hands him a golden ticket, he just can´t handle it. What a shame. I wonder if he had a good family to support him, raise him as a decent citizen, take him to church, feed him properly, teach him table manners, show him how men work together in civil discourse- all those things? Or was he raised by screeching, self absorbed drug addicts with no sense what-so-ever?

As a Gator alum, I am appalled at the scum that they recruit for football.

Cost them dearly this season when a whole bunch were arrested for credit card fraud and couldn´t play.

Hope they start selecting football players who are not also thugs and criminals.

Just another example of giving someone with physical skills excuses when they act out of the norm. They get false grades so they can play. If they harm someone they are excused and so it goes till they go too far and their and others lives are ruined.

The Tampa Bay Times, one of the largest US newspapers by circulation, plans to lay off around 50 people starting Thursday in a direct response to a new tariff imposed by President Donald Trump´s administration. The Tampa Bay Times confirmed the layoffs to the Tampa Bay Business Journal. In March, Paul Tash, the Times´ chairman and CEO, wrote in the paper that new tariffs on imported newsprint would increase the company´s costs by roughly $3 million a year. "These tariffs will also hurt our employees, because payroll is the only expense that is bigger than newsprint," Tash warned. "To help offset the extra

It’s really not that complicated. But President Trump’s Syria strikes have reopened the debate over what defines his foreign policy. Is he an interventionist or an isolationist? Foreign policy experts claim that he’s making it up as he goes along. But they’re not paying attention. President Trump’s foreign policy has two consistent elements. From threatening Kim Jong-Un on Twitter to moving the embassy to Jerusalem to bombing Syria, he applies pressure and then he disengages. Here’s how that works. First, Trump pressures the most intransigent and hostile side in the conflict. Second, he divests the United States from the conflict leaving the relevant parties to

Robert Kagan told a Washington Post reporter that the liberal world order was in trouble "because the jungle is starting to grow back". He described, with a sense of poignant loss, the magnificent edifice that the Deplorables had by inattention let the seeds of nationalism overgrow. But perhaps it not the noise of the jungle that is responsible for the present cacophony. At least some of the frenzy rocking the West stems from the efforts of an ideology trying to hold on to its old dominance. Wounded tigers can be dangerous. Russia, as former president Obama famously pointed out, was objectively

From Hillary Clinton’s point of view, of course: "Tarra Snyder, a student at Rosemount High School in Minnesota, who saw a copy of the book sent to her school, told Fox News she was “appalled” after seeing how “blatantly biased” the newest edition of “By the People: A History of the United States” was toward Trump and his voters. She said it also glossed over all issues then-Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton faced during her campaign. *** The textbook – published by British-owned,

I was talking with an ex-university professor recently who told me that he was very happy to be retired. He said he was glad to be out of the hornets’ nest, away from a world so filled with political correctness that it was difficult to get through the day. Life on campus, he said, is rife with so many non-issue “issues” that it’s like walking barefoot on sidewalks littered with broken glass. He related how he once told a fellow professor that she “looked very nice today,” meaning that she had selected a particularly nice outfit. Rather than thank him for

Calling the bill unnecessary, McConnell said he would not bring any such bill to a vote. "That´s not necessary," McConnell previously argued. "There´s no indication that Mueller is going to be fired. I don´t think the president´s going to do that. Just as a practical matter, even if we passed it, why would he sign it?" The company said 8,000 Starbucks stores would close for sensitivity training and the conscience of an anguished world pulsated with guilt and grief over the arrest of the two men, whose only offense was to stand there. The two men were exactly right: The right thing to do in Starbucks is not to order anything, because the coffee is disgusting. Starbucks´ response, to be sure, was incommensurate with the problem: Rather

He has been a lifelong Republican and said that in today’s party, the only Republican he does respect is former 2012 presidential nominee Mitt Romney. He called Mr. Romney, who is running for the open Senate seat in Utah, a “person of principle and honor.”

Washington - Dozens of Democratic U.S. Senators on Wednesday introduced a resolution calling for Environmental Protection Agency chief Scott Pruitt to resign on allegations of ethics lapses. Those relate to the agency’s purchase of a $43,000 sound booth for his office and spending on travel and security. The resolution was signed by 39 senators in the 100-member Senate, which is controlled by Pruitt’s fellow Republicans. Although Republicans can defeat it, the resolution is symbolically important because it represents the most senators ever to call for a Cabinet member’s ouster in resolution, its sponsors said.
