The left is pushing Dems over a
cliff as government shutdown looms

The clock is ticking toward a January 19 deadline for congressional negotiators who are trying to come up with a long term budget to avoid a government shutdown. Complicating matters are Democrats who are insisting any budget deal include legislation to legalize illegal aliens eligible for the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program. Also slowing negotiations are talks over children´s health insurance (CHIPS) and disaster relief funding. Democrats enraged their activist base last month when several senators voted for the temporary funding bill that didn´t include DACA legilsation. This time, they are putting enormous pressure on Democratic lawmakers to

Schumer and pelosi might be dumb and vile. But, they are not stupid with the midterms looming. Shutting down the gvt over this? Illegal immigration is not exactly the hill they should be planting their flags on these days. I think that would drive the rest of the nails into the Democratic loon´s coffins.

Everytime the goobernment is ´shutdown´ the facist Democrats have benefited. Its part of the game plan. The Kneepads do their usual articles about all the women, children, homeless and illegals dying in the street becasue the bad evil Rebublicans won´t do something insane to satisfy the fascist Democrats. This time, the Rebublican trump card is Trump. iwth his raw honesty and twits, he just might be able to flip the usual pattern of a shutdown and for once, the Dems pay the price.

I disagree with #1.

Immigration is important to the left. Without immigrant votes, legal or otherwise, the socialists face an uphill struggle as they themselves recently admitted. Plus they know that the DNC propaganda arm (a.k.a., the national fake-news industry) will do its utmost to convince the public that the republicans are 100% at fault and forced the government to shut down so that everybody except their rich friends would suffer and die. It is a tactic that has worked in the past with the spineless members of the stupid party.

If workers who did not work during a shut down did not expect to receive a paid vacation at taxpayer expense, maybe there would be more pressure on the Democrats.

I believe President Trump´s show of nicey-nice was all about forcing the Dimmis to take the heat if they "shutdown the gummint" over DACA.

To me, it seems like that time a few years back when the Dimmis forced a shutdown and the Demmedia evil machine was able to spin it as the Republican´s fault put the fear of Gaia into the Repub establishment and was the real beginning of the bipartisan swamp era.

Democrats made fools of themselves this weekend by shutting down the government over their call to grant amnesty to border jumpers who live here illegally. House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) has been measuring the drapes in the Speaker’s office since Sen. Doug Jones (D-AL) defeated Republican Roy Moore in the December 12 special Senate election in Alabama. Now, more than nine months before voters go to the polls, the heavily hyped 2018 “Blue Wave” on which the 77-year-old’s dream of Democratic Party restoration rests may have already reached its crest. In order to take back the majority, Democrats need to win 218 of the 435 seats of the House in the November 2018 midterm elections. They currently have 193 seats, and are almost certain

The illegal immigration debate has come to a head once again. Congress remains at an impasse over a temporary spending bill that Senate Democrats refuse to support unless it includes a provision that would allow several hundred thousand illegal aliens to remain in the United States without fear of deportation. It’s a tiresome ploy by the Democrats, abetted by their allies in the media, using deceptive language to paint a false picture that blurs the distinction between legal and illegal, citizen and foreigner, justice and injustice. Enough obfuscation. Here are some of the most pernicious myths of illegal immigration, debunked. The System

While all the little Schumers in the Senate were busy making millions as public servants, Trump was out dealing with banks and negotiating with oil sheikhs, Hollywood moguls, and trade union presidents on his way to becoming a mega-billionaire.

Democrats called it the Trump shutdown. Republicans labeled it the Schumer shutdown. But in reality, it was the Dreamer shutdown. The recipe for the current congressional gridlock is complex, but at the top of the list of ingredients are the illegal immigrant Dreamers who pushed Democrats to launch the filibuster that sent the government careening into a partial shutdown. It’s a stunning display of political leverage for a group that, at most, numbers several million, can’t vote now, and even under the most generous proposals wouldn’t be able to cast ballots for another decade. It´s no secret that Mitt Romney is, in all likelihood, going to run for a Senate seat in Utah. What´s less clear, however, is why the man who was the 2012 Republican presidential nominee and is now retired and occupying an elder-statesman role in a party torn into warring factions would want to serve as a junior senator. Once elected, Romney would find himself embroiled in day-to-day congressional fights and less free to voice his criticisms of the White House, while losing some of the deference he´s been shown by members of his own party. Congressional investigators believe they are barely beginning to answer the questions raised by the text messages between the FBI´s Peter Strzok and Lisa Page. For several reasons: 1) Strzok and Page were more prolific texters than anyone knew. In a statement late Monday, Attorney General Jeff Sessions said FBI investigators have found "over 50,000 texts" in their review of Strzok-Page communications. 2) Even with all those texts, the FBI says it cannot find the couple´s messages between Dec. 14, 2016, and May 17, 2017 — a critical time in the Trump-Russia affair.
