Pink pussyhats: Why some

DETROIT — A year ago, they stormed the streets of big cities and small towns to make their views known: Women´s rights are human rights. Many wore on their heads what became the de facto symbol of activism in 2017, the pink pussyhat. (Snip) The reason: The sentiment that the pink pussyhat excludes and is offensive to transgender women and gender non-binary people who don´t have typical female genitalia and to women of color because their genitals are more likely to be brown than pink. "I personally won’t wear one because if it hurts even a few people´s feelings, then

I thought maybe they had come to their senses - until I saw the reason they are being ditched.

Why are so many people allowing themselves to be controlled and manipulated by a tiny number of people who are so confused?

They are forcing the debasement of our Nation, our culture, our mores, our families, our society.

These are the children who are the children of the parents who could not and would not discipline their children, who got trophies and never saw the scary red marking on their schoolwork, because red is so scary, of course!!!

It is serious and dangerous for adults to be so emotionally unidimensional, which makes them prone to silliness, unable to make complex moral decisions, easily led and dominated... who else would have worn those hats?

I´m surprised a wise marketing person has not come up with something. They could sell the new symbol as a baseball cap, with adjustments built in - one size fits all, so to speak.

WASHINGTON — Senator Joe Manchin III of West Virginia told colleagues on Tuesday that he intended to run for re-election this year after all, ending an anxiety-making flirtation with retirement and easing Democratic fears that the most conservative Democrat in the Senate was about to effectively hand his seat to a Republican. In an interview, Mr. Manchin said he repeatedly expressed his frustration to Senator Chuck Schumer of New York, the Democratic leader, and other colleagues, telling them that “this place sucks,” before finally signaling Tuesday morning to Mr. Schumer’s aides that he would file his re-election paperwork before West

Your desk can shine a light on some of your work habits and personality traits. So it´s not surprising that a recent photo of US President Donald Trump spawned several reactions on social media. The photo, in a White House handout, shows Trump sitting at the Oval Office´s Resolute Desk, the surface of which is mostly clear, aside from a phone. Trump is leaning forward in his chair, apparently listening to a phone call, while wearing a white "Make America Great Again" hat. The Trump tax cuts might not end well, since they’re likely to push interest rates higher than they’d otherwise go, possibly fueling inflation. And the extra debt Uncle Sam is taking on to finance the cuts only adds to the burden on future taxpayers. But for now, the tax cuts seem to be having the intended effect—they’re boosting corporate earnings, stoking investment and, in some cases, trickling down to ordinary workers. Stocks keep hitting new record highs, confidence is rising and nobody sees a recession on the horizon. Democrats in Washington seem to think they’re sailing into major gains in

Washington- Progressive lawmakers and activists are furious over the Senate´s Monday vote to advance legislation to end the government shutdown. The recipe for the current congressional gridlock is complex, but at the top of the list of ingredients are the illegal immigrant Dreamers who pushed Democrats to launch the filibuster that sent the government careening into a partial shutdown. It’s a stunning display of political leverage for a group that, at most, numbers several million, can’t vote now, and even under the most generous proposals wouldn’t be able to cast ballots for another decade.
