The FBI is investigating people inspired by “kind of an Antifa ideology,” bureau Director Christopher Wray said Thursday. Wray told members of the House Homeland Security Committee that people associated with the so-called anti-fascist or Antifa movement were subject to the FBI probe amid possible violent criminal activity. “While we´re not investigating Antifa as Antifa — that´s an ideology and we don´t investigate ideologies — we are investigating a number of what we would call anarchist-extremist investigations, where we have properly predicated subjects of people who are motivated to commit violent criminal activity on kind of an Antifa ideology,” he told the

The legalization of marijuana became a hot topic in the past week. First, recreational use of the drug became legal in California at the start of 2018. Next, Attorney General Jeff Sessions announced he would allow U.S. attorneys to decide whether to enforce federal laws outlawing the use and sale of pot in states that have legalized the drug. Sessions ended an Obama administration policy that discouraged federal prosecutors from enforcing federal marijuana laws in states that allow the drug’s medical or recreational use. It’s not clear yet what impact the attorney general’s action will have. As a physician, my doctoring knowledge

Michelle Obama has a message for Americans who are frightened by the current political climate: remain hopeful. "All we have is hope," the former first lady says in a preview clip from Thursday´s "Ellen" show. Obama´s sit-down with host Ellen DeGeneres marks her first TV interview since leaving the White House last year. "People are afraid, but then there are people who feel good about the direction of the country, so I mean, that’s what makes this country complicated because it’s made up of so many different people from different backgrounds," Obama tells DeGeneres, when asked what advice she´d give people who

Washington - Top White House aides are worried FBI Director Christopher Wray could quit if the highly controversial Republican memo alleging the FBI abused its surveillance tools is released, multiple sources with knowledge of the situation tell CNN. Wray has made clear he is frustrated that President Donald Trump picked him to lead the FBI after he fired FBI Director James Comey in May, yet his advice on the Nunes memo is being disregarded and cast as part of the purported partisan leadership of the FBI, according to a senior law enforcement official. Wray´s stance is "raising hell," one source familiar with

Rep. Adam Schiff of California, the top Democrat on the House Intelligence Committee, accused the panel´s chairman, Rep. Devin Nunes, R-Calif., of altering a controversial memo sent to the White House for review — an assertion that wasn´t denied but rather tempered with an argument that the changes were merely cosmetic or were edits requested by Democrats and the FBI. (Snip)A spokesman for the House Intelligence Committee conceded that small edits were made, but dismissed the minority party´s complaints as an attempt to create a "bizarre distraction from the abuses detailed in the memo." Whistleblowers, Republican congressional members, and some former intelligence officials cite mounting concern that the White House may not release the House Intelligence Committee’s FISA abuse memo as the FBI pushed against plans to make it public based on false allegations that the memo contains information that would harm U.S. national security, sources tell this reporter. The memo alleges severe abuse of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act by employees of the FBI and Department of Justice but FBI Director Christopher Wray Wednesday warned against the release of the memo issuing a public statement from the FBI that the bureau has “grave

Members of the Congressional Black Caucus (CBC) are proving central to efforts to impeach President Trump. Black lawmakers say that’s the result of Trump repeatedly stirring racial controversies, from personally attacking two members of the caucus to casting equal blame on white supremacists and counterprotesters for fatal violence in Charlottesville, Va., last summer. (Snip) The articles of impeachment put forth by Green don’t allege Trump has committed a crime; instead, they assert that Trump has “brought the high office of president of the United States in contempt, ridicule, disgrace and disrepute” and “has sown discord among the people of the United

Sen. Jeff Flake, R-Ariz., on Thursday implored President Trump not to release the classified memo drafted by House Intelligence Committee Chairman Devin Nunes and his staff. “President Trump should heed the warnings of the Justice Department and FBI, and reverse his reported decision to defy longstanding policies regarding the disclosure of classified information," the outgoing Arizona Republican wrote in a joint statement issued with Sen. Chris Coons, D-Del. The pair from the Senate Judiciary Committee said the White House "risks undermining U.S. intelligence-gathering efforts, politicizing Congress’ oversight role, and eroding confidence in our institutions of government" if Trump doesn´t prevent the

THE DEEP STATE IS IN DEEP PANIC– Trump supporters want the FISA memo released to the public immediately, however; the FBI and DOJ are fiercely fighting to delegitimize the document and delay the release. Former Attorney General Eric ‘Fast and Furious’ Holder came unhinged over the FISA memo Wednesday and trashed Chairman Nunes.
