Michele Bachmann Considering
Running For Minnesota Senate
Seat To Replace Al Franken…

Conservative Treehouse, by Sundance

Original Article

Former Minnesota congresswoman Michele Bachmann appeared on Jim Baker’s broadcast last week and indicated she might possibly enter the 2018 special election Senate race open due to Al Franken’s resignation. [Video Here]Mrs. Bachmann was known as a deficit hawk and previously represented Minesota’s 6th District from 2007 to 2015. In addition to founding the Tea Party Caucus in the House of Representatives, she also ran for the 2012 presidential nomination. She is now 61-years-old. Interesting consideration. During her previous time in office she was often a target of severe sexist attacks from left-wing media pundits and Democrat opposition.

Comments:
Tina Smith only sworn in to replace Franken for the remainder of his present term. Dare we hope for an elected Republican to follow?

Bachmann blew her chance when she crowed about accepting Swiss "citizenship" through her husband´s eligibility...and then backtracked when no one else thought it was cute for a "presidential candidate". IIRC, the Swiss refused to tear up her papers.

The Swiss citizenship blunder hardly disqualifies this very dedicated Godly conservative woman to run for high office again. She and her amazing family will pray about it and if she runs, Minnesota will elect her. I know Michele personally so I am prejudiced. She also supports President Trump. Minnesota is so blessed to have her.

PARKLAND, Fla. — A Florida social services agency conducted an in-home investigation of Nikolas Cruz after he exhibited troubling behavior nearly a year and a half before he shot and killed 17 people at his former high school in Florida, a state report shows. The agency, the Florida Department of Children and Families, had been alerted to posts on Snapchat of Mr. Cruz cutting his arms and expressing interest in buying a gun, according to the report. But after visiting and questioning Mr. Cruz at his home, the department determined he was at low risk of harming himself or others.

Los Angeles — It was dicey being Jewish in a Russia that was tolerant of pogroms, and then came the threat of conscription into the 1904–05 Russo-Japanese War, so one of Mayor Eric Garcetti’s great-grandfathers headed west to America. A few weeks ago, Aly Raisman came to public attention for doing a brave and noble thing: testifying in court against Larry Nassar, the USA Gymnastics and Michigan State University doctor who, over two decades, had sexually abused her and more than 160 other girls and women. Thanks in part to Raisman’s testimony, Nassar has been sentenced to 175 years in prison. The public may feel grateful to the young woman. Now we are hearing about Raisman again, although it is for a very different reason: She has chosen to appear naked in the new Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition. Raisman was

Mueller has been slow-playing it for a while. I’m talking about the Russian operatives move – the indictments. They are largely baseless, a big overreach that amounts to allegations of talking down Hillary Clinton and talking up Donald Trump. If that were suddenly illegal almost the entire media complex would have to be indicted, right? Mueller is trying to paint

Florida shooting shows

People are asking why didn´t the FBI follow up on the tips about the gunman who went on to kill 17 people at a high school in Florida? That´s the wrong question. We should ask: why didn´t the tipsters report their suspicions to the local police or sheriff´s office? Don´t get me wrong. The FBI screwed up. But after the review and congressional hearings, the politicians will scapegoat the director -- and decide the FBI needs more manpower. Thus, Congress will reward failure, and we will wind up with more failure. The solution is to not expand the federal police but rather to have the

Sanctuary cities are a near perfect example of how liberalism works. The local governments promise not to check ID. In turn, roughly 60% of the illegal aliens in this country now live in a sanctuary city. The U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency thanks those sanctuary cities for attracting the illegal aliens so ICE can arrest and deport them without having to do much searching. It is like throwing corn on the ground in front of the tree stand. Or so I have heard. The Russians are engaged in “information warfare” against the United States. That was the big soundbite at Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein’s press conference Friday afternoon, announcing Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s election-meddling indictment against 13 Russians and three Russian businesses. That is certainly a fair assessment of what the indictment alleges. The account is disturbing, but its form leaves many of us underwhelmed. Our government says Russia is levying war. It is attacking a foundational institution — the electoral system of our democratic society and, more basically, our society’s cohesion as such. Our response should not be, nor appear to be,

As a history professor and long-time instructor in “Western Civilization” classes, I was dumbfounded by recent leftist attacks on Attorney General Jeff Sessions. Sessions, at a meeting of U.S. sheriffs, innocuously observed that these highly respected police officials are part of our country’s democratic and “Anglo-American” legal and law enforcement heritage. The term “Anglo-American” stuck in Left’s collective craw, symbolizing (as they see it) the fact that U.S. laws and law enforcement are made of, by, and for (you guessed it) white people. This interpretation of Sessions’ remarks is not only grossly unfair—it also ignores the very real “Anglo-American” basis

The following is an excerpt from The Judiciary’s Class War by Glenn Reynolds, just published by Encounter Books. ___ In the wake of the 2016 presidential election, we heard a lot about America’s division into two mutually hostile camps: a largely coastal, urban party run by educated elites and a largely rural and suburban “flyover country” party composed of people who did not attend elite schools and who do not see themselves as dependent on those who did. This divide is more fundamental than mere partisan identification, as Democrats and Republicans belong to both groups.(Snip) Since the mid-20th century, the

San Salvador - Last week, President Trump torpedoed an immigration deal put forward by a bipartisan group of senators. The Senate responded by rejecting his own, harsher plan. By the end of the week, the immigration debate seemed deadlocked between the fate of the Dreamers and the fate of the wall. But one thing is clear: Any plan that purports to make America safer by making it harder for immigrants to obtain legal status and increasing deportations will actually do the opposite. These proposals, embraced by Mr. Trump, are the same decades-old policies that helped transform Mr. Trump’s archenemy, Mara Salvatrucha
