Donald Trump Didn’t Want to Be President
New York Magazine, by Michael Wolff

On the afternoon of November 8, 2016, Kellyanne Conway settled into her glass office at Trump Tower. Right up until the last weeks of the race, the campaign headquarters had remained a listless place. All that seemed to distinguish it from a corporate back office were a few posters with right-wing slogans. Conway, the campaign’s manager, was in a remarkably buoyant mood, considering she was about to experience a resounding, if not cataclysmic, defeat. Donald Trump would lose the election — of this she was sure — but he would quite possibly hold the defeat to under six points. That

This is really from The Onion, right?

It reads like a fairy tale. All you have to do is look at WHAT his has done since elected! If he never wanted the job, he would follow Barack Obama´s example... being lazy and letting others do his job, while he never cared one day about the consequences of his actions.

Trump is the antithesis of Obama. If he doesn´t want to be President, it doesn´t matter.. he´s doing a hell of a job at it!

I couldn´t make it to the end of this tripe!
Maybe, just maybe 1% is true. The rest of what I read is anger emanating from small minds, like the ones at NR who wrote the anti-Trump letters while he was still a candidate.
The adults being in charge and having to maneuver the landmines buried by obummer and company prior to departure, is a new concept to those who bow to big government.
How does a very successful businessman suddenly become stupid? Only in small minds!

Put the correct name in the statement (Romney) and we might believe you. At least we have it from the very lips of Romney´s own son and his wife that he really didn´t want to win the 2012 election.

I suspect this guy´s book is going to go down in flames, as some of the most egregious of the statements are already being debunked in various places around the internet.

FTA: The decisions that Trump and his top advisers made in those first few months — from the slapdash transition to the disarray in the West Wing — set the stage for the chaos and dysfunction that have persisted throughout his first year in office.

Gee, with all that Trump has accomplished in his first year, imagine what he could have done if he had single-minded concentration on MAGAand the press were a wind at his back rather than 95% negative against him.

The "didn´t" want to become president and the "colluded with" is coming from the same brain damaged Left. So which one of their diametrically opposed theories (if any) are we supposed to believe? Maybe it´s true. Maybe not. An old story has it that at the 1st little league organizational meeting in my town, the league president asked for a show of parents´ hands who wanted to manage a team. The president then selected those WITHOUT their hands in the air; felling they´d make better team managers.

C) Trump held rallies (sometimes eight a day) to become what he didn´t want to become. Did I get that right? It´s all what the liberal media reported about Donald Trump. Do we need any further evidence that liberalism is a mental disease?

The inundation of preposterous “news” excerpts and/or stories to destroy President Trump by alluding to a variety of serious personality disorders reeks of purposeful orchestration, much like the “golden showers” dossier, to set the stage for the Left’s grandiose plan to remove him from office. The stench appears to emanate from, and envelope, Saul Alinsky’s “Rules for Radicals.” Whether or not much of the mainstream media believe the accusations or not, the Left knows that their low-information constituents are easily fooled, so their dastardly deeds serve to achieve their goals—accomplished by utilizing Alinsky’s “Rules for Radicals.”

- "the Fake News Mainstream Media, are taking out the old Ronald Reagan playbook and screaming mental stability and intelligence... Actually, throughout my life, my two greatest assets have been mental stability and being, like, really smart. Crooked Hillary Clinton also played these cards very hard and, as everyone knows, went down in flames. I went from VERY successful businessman, to top T.V. Actually he might be correct.

Unlike swamp dwelling career politicians I don´t think being president was Trump´s lifetime dream. He would probably have been content to just continue in the business world where he made his success. But he saw where things in DC were headed and felt called to do something about it.

When you think of it that way the word Patriot comes to mind.

#43- Well-stated. Delusional/sanctimonious mainstream media devoid of real world integrity passes judgment on the President and family who have lived and continue to live in the real world and not the fairy tale world of the media. Example: The facial expression of Melania at the inauguration after her husband turned and said something to her going from a beaming smile to a solemn expression has been portrayed as being due to her husband’s comments to her. More likely, Melania’s religious convictions reacted appropriately, reverentially, to the solemnity of the moment wherein the Reverend Franklin Graham was speaking.

If Trump had a moment of doubt about running for President, it wasn´t because he thought he would lose. And it wasn´t because of the risk to his life [from a shadow government hit-man, or "disappointed office seeker" or crackpot]. I really believe he knew every other candidate lacked the Americanism, and vision, and leadership skills and timing and energy to fix what had to be fixed, and the guts and God-fearing honesty to inspire a return to exceptionalism. Given Obama has the country hanging by a thread, he sees the problems clearly. He know how to bring in the job under budget and under schedule. Also no conservative America, no winner as a Commander in Chief -- no Trump empire.

At best, this book by Woolf is a literary caricature, heavily slanted to appease the truth that the left would like to hear, and worry the right. He has brilliant disclaimers in his forward that give him literary license to stretch the truth that semi-protects him from libel or slander.

The problem is it stretches the credulity of most logical people. The presidents demonstrated effectiveness in producing or making progress toward all of his promises as shown in the first year are undeniable demonstrations of his competence, whether you agree with his actions or not. Especially when he as accomplished these feats against unprecedented and illegal sabotage.

I´m not worried about this book. It reduces the credibility of the author and all who repeat this orchestrated tripe, and produces awe, even in those who do not want the president to succeed.

The Republican National Committee paid nearly half a million dollars to a law firm that represents former White House communications director Hope Hicks and others in the Russia investigations, according to a new federal filing. The RNC´s $451,780 payment to Trout Cacheris & Janis adds to the mounting legal fees associated with the investigations by special counsel Robert S. A report of a suspicious person crackled from John Messner’s RadioShack police scanner, one of two he keeps at his home in Knoxville, Tenn. When an officer was heard yelling “Shots fired!” minutes later, Mr. Messner knew it was time to go. The 52-year-old construction worker and photographer grabbed his two cameras, his portable scanner, jumped in his 1999 Plymouth Voyager minivan, and raced to the scene 3 miles away, where a suspected burglar was shot by police. “When I got there, the guy was still on the ground, they hadn’t put him in the ambulance yet,” said Mr. Messner of the

If you follow New York newspapers, which I do as someone who grew up there, a key question the last day or two was who was more offensive, bigoted, ignorant and disgusting concerning the American embassy opening and the violence on the Gaza border with Israel: Michelle Goldberg, a New York Times columnist , or the people who prepare the front page headlines in the New York Daily News? Take your pick: the Daily News or Goldberg. I vote for Goldberg. It is hard to know where to begin to unpack her lies and deceptions, but let’s try a few.

A music promoter who promised Donald Trump Jr. over email that a Russian lawyer would provide dirt about Hillary Clinton in June 2016 made the offer because he had been assured the Moscow attorney was “well connected” and had “damaging material,” the promoter testified to the Senate Judiciary Committee. Rob Goldstone told the committee that his client, the Russian pop star and developer Emin Agalarov, had insisted he help set up the meeting between President Trump’s son and the lawyer during the campaign to pass along material on Clinton, overriding Goldstone’s own warnings that the meeting would be a bad idea. “He

WASHINGTON — The White House official had a startling assertion: He thought he had received an email in the first half of 2016 alerting the Trump campaign that Russia had damaging information about Hillary Clinton. Testifying behind closed doors on Capitol Hill in late March, the official, John K. Mashburn, said he remembered the email coming from George Papadopoulos, a foreign policy adviser to the campaign who was approached by a Russian agent, sometime before the party conventions — and well before WikiLeaks began publishing messages stolen in hackings from Democrats. Such an email could have proved

A theological who’s who of Leftist Christian leaders are organizing a march on the White House to ‘Reclaim Jesus’ from President Donald Trump that is set for the evening of May 24. One of the leaders of the anti-Trump march is Rev. Michael Bruce Curry who ‘stole the show‘ with his lengthy sermon at the British royal wedding on Saturday between Prince Harry and American Meghan Markle. Three march organizers were spiritual advisors to President Barack Obama while one counseled President Bill Clinton during the Lewinsky scandal and later endorsed Hillary Clinton for president in 2016. Former Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton told graduating students at Yale University on Sunday she was still grappling with the results of the 2016 election. "No, I’m not over it, I still think about the 2016 election, I still regret the mistakes I made,” Clinton said during an address as part of Yale University’s Class Day. “Today, as a person, I’m Okay. As an American, I’m concerned." “This is a moment to reach across divides of race, class, and politics to try to see the world through the eyes of people very different from ourselves and to return to rational

After about thirteen years of being a loyal customer of Netflix, the time has come for me to say goodbye. (Snip) Given that I’m a conservative, one might be inclined to believe my choice to leave Netflix is predicated upon the company’s most recent decision to partner with Barack and Michelle Obama’s new company, called “Higher Ground Productions,” to produce loads of new content. And in a way, I guess that’s correct. But this choice by Netflix has not alone led me to this decision. Rather, this was the straw that finally broke the camel’s back -- the latest in a series of indicators that the network has become little more than a

Pope Francis has reportedly told a gay man that "God made you that way and loves you as you are," apparently pushing the pontiff´s acceptance of homosexuality to a new level. Francis made the comments to Juan Carlos Cruz, a Chilean victim of priestly sexual abuse who recently spent days with the pope at the Vatican to discuss his ordeal as the pontiff moves to tackle decades of coverups and ostracism of victims in the Chilean church, according to the Spanish newspaper El Pais. Cruz was quoted as having discussed his homosexuality with Francis. "He told me: ´Juan Carlos, I

At the end of all the scandal and drama, all of the breathlessly reported lies and false accusations, at the end of all the money wasted on some zany kabuki swamp dance choreographed to the thrumming of giant bullfrogs and yipping of excited coyotes — at the end of all of this — it comes down to precisely what we said it was a year and a half ago. The Obama administration — with or without the knowledge and direction of President Obama himself — perverted one of the most powerful, clandestine spying operations in the world and used it at the very height of a presidential campaign to spy on political opponents,

Former Secretary of State John Kerry warned President Donald Trump Sunday that Democrats are not afraid to go against his “America First” policies. “We won’t win, any of us, ultimately, by retreating within our borders, by focusing on our own nations only, or by going it alone,” Kerry told those gathered at New York University’s Abu Dhabi’s commencement ceremony Sunday — a direct reference to the president’s “America First” trade and immigration policies. Kerry served as the secretary of state for former President Barack Obama. He also, notably, was one of the key negotiators for the administration when it was

A New Jersey high school is under fire after it released prom tickets that encouraged students to ´party like it´s 1776´. Cherry Hill High School East designed the prom tickets to commemorate that the dance was being held at the National Constitution Center in Philadelphia. Former Attorney General Eric Holder on Monday urged Department of Justice (DOJ) and FBI officials to "simply say no" to President Trump´s demand for an expanded investigation into his claims of FBI wrongdoing as it relates to his campaign. "More DOJ norms being eroded. Trump-a SUBJECT of the investigation-wants access to material related to the inquiry," Holder tweeted. (Snip) His latest criticism of the president came as Trump and his allies have claimed, without evidence, that an FBI informant spied on his campaign for political purposes. On Sunday, Trump said he would demand the DOJ investigate the matter.

Sen. Elizabeth Warren, the Native American* Democrat from Massachusetts, has boldly pledged to refuse to accept donations from the National Rifle Association. Which really does not change anything because, according to OpenSecrets.org, the NRA has never donated to Sen. Warren in the first place. Still, Sen. Warren is being praised for this decision announced via NowthisNews.com in which she proudly proclaims, "It´s time we strip the NRA of its stranglehold over our children´s lives." She is technically the first Senator to refuse to accept NRA money.

California is poised to become the first state in the nation to offer full health coverage to undocumented adults even as the Trump administration intensifies its crackdown by separating families at the border. (Snip) But at a time when Trump is already attempting to re-energize state Republican voters — he met with California conservatives at the White House last week to strategize against the state’s sanctuary policies — the initiative might be risky. For starters, it will be costly: The annual price tag to expand Medicaid benefits to poor adult immigrants without legal status is projected at $3 billion annually.
