Donald Trump Didn’t Want to Be President
New York Magazine, by Michael Wolff

On the afternoon of November 8, 2016, Kellyanne Conway settled into her glass office at Trump Tower. Right up until the last weeks of the race, the campaign headquarters had remained a listless place. All that seemed to distinguish it from a corporate back office were a few posters with right-wing slogans. Conway, the campaign’s manager, was in a remarkably buoyant mood, considering she was about to experience a resounding, if not cataclysmic, defeat. Donald Trump would lose the election — of this she was sure — but he would quite possibly hold the defeat to under six points. That

This is really from The Onion, right?

It reads like a fairy tale. All you have to do is look at WHAT his has done since elected! If he never wanted the job, he would follow Barack Obama´s example... being lazy and letting others do his job, while he never cared one day about the consequences of his actions.

Trump is the antithesis of Obama. If he doesn´t want to be President, it doesn´t matter.. he´s doing a hell of a job at it!

I couldn´t make it to the end of this tripe!
Maybe, just maybe 1% is true. The rest of what I read is anger emanating from small minds, like the ones at NR who wrote the anti-Trump letters while he was still a candidate.
The adults being in charge and having to maneuver the landmines buried by obummer and company prior to departure, is a new concept to those who bow to big government.
How does a very successful businessman suddenly become stupid? Only in small minds!

Put the correct name in the statement (Romney) and we might believe you. At least we have it from the very lips of Romney´s own son and his wife that he really didn´t want to win the 2012 election.

I suspect this guy´s book is going to go down in flames, as some of the most egregious of the statements are already being debunked in various places around the internet.

FTA: The decisions that Trump and his top advisers made in those first few months — from the slapdash transition to the disarray in the West Wing — set the stage for the chaos and dysfunction that have persisted throughout his first year in office.

Gee, with all that Trump has accomplished in his first year, imagine what he could have done if he had single-minded concentration on MAGAand the press were a wind at his back rather than 95% negative against him.

Now think about this -- Donald Trump didn´t want to become president, but he colluded with the Russians to win. The "didn´t" want to become president and the "colluded with" is coming from the same brain damaged Left. So which one of their diametrically opposed theories (if any) are we supposed to believe? Maybe it´s true. Maybe not. An old story has it that at the 1st little league organizational meeting in my town, the league president asked for a show of parents´ hands who wanted to manage a team. The president then selected those WITHOUT their hands in the air; felling they´d make better team managers.

C) Trump held rallies (sometimes eight a day) to become what he didn´t want to become. Did I get that right? It´s all what the liberal media reported about Donald Trump. Do we need any further evidence that liberalism is a mental disease?

The inundation of preposterous “news” excerpts and/or stories to destroy President Trump by alluding to a variety of serious personality disorders reeks of purposeful orchestration, much like the “golden showers” dossier, to set the stage for the Left’s grandiose plan to remove him from office. The stench appears to emanate from, and envelope, Saul Alinsky’s “Rules for Radicals.” Whether or not much of the mainstream media believe the accusations or not, the Left knows that their low-information constituents are easily fooled, so their dastardly deeds serve to achieve their goals—accomplished by utilizing Alinsky’s “Rules for Radicals.”

- "the Fake News Mainstream Media, are taking out the old Ronald Reagan playbook and screaming mental stability and intelligence... Actually, throughout my life, my two greatest assets have been mental stability and being, like, really smart. Crooked Hillary Clinton also played these cards very hard and, as everyone knows, went down in flames. I went from VERY successful businessman, to top T.V. Actually he might be correct.

Unlike swamp dwelling career politicians I don´t think being president was Trump´s lifetime dream. He would probably have been content to just continue in the business world where he made his success. But he saw where things in DC were headed and felt called to do something about it.

When you think of it that way the word Patriot comes to mind.

#43- Well-stated. Delusional/sanctimonious mainstream media devoid of real world integrity passes judgment on the President and family who have lived and continue to live in the real world and not the fairy tale world of the media. Example: The facial expression of Melania at the inauguration after her husband turned and said something to her going from a beaming smile to a solemn expression has been portrayed as being due to her husband’s comments to her. More likely, Melania’s religious convictions reacted appropriately, reverentially, to the solemnity of the moment wherein the Reverend Franklin Graham was speaking.

If Trump had a moment of doubt about running for President, it wasn´t because he thought he would lose. And it wasn´t because of the risk to his life [from a shadow government hit-man, or "disappointed office seeker" or crackpot]. I really believe he knew every other candidate lacked the Americanism, and vision, and leadership skills and timing and energy to fix what had to be fixed, and the guts and God-fearing honesty to inspire a return to exceptionalism. Given Obama has the country hanging by a thread, he sees the problems clearly. He know how to bring in the job under budget and under schedule. Also no conservative America, no winner as a Commander in Chief -- no Trump empire.

At best, this book by Woolf is a literary caricature, heavily slanted to appease the truth that the left would like to hear, and worry the right. He has brilliant disclaimers in his forward that give him literary license to stretch the truth that semi-protects him from libel or slander.

The problem is it stretches the credulity of most logical people. The presidents demonstrated effectiveness in producing or making progress toward all of his promises as shown in the first year are undeniable demonstrations of his competence, whether you agree with his actions or not. Especially when he as accomplished these feats against unprecedented and illegal sabotage.

I´m not worried about this book. It reduces the credibility of the author and all who repeat this orchestrated tripe, and produces awe, even in those who do not want the president to succeed.

Staten Island, N.Y. - How popular is President Donald Trump on Staten Island? So popular that he even tops the iconic Robert De Niro. At least as far as Great Kills resident Joseph DeVito is concerned. DeVito has become an Internet sensation after trashing a photo of De Niro in the wake of the actor´s foul-mouthed "F--k Trump" diatribe at the Tony Awards. That rant led DeVito, who calls De Niro his idol in the video, to take a framed picture of the actor from his wall, drop it in a trash can outside, and smash the picture glass with a hammer. He then tears the picture to pieces. "Another Trump-hater down," DeVito says, closing the lid on

Singapore - A historic handshake in front of US and North Korean flags, a solemn signing ceremony and back-slapping compliments: critics charge that US President Donald Trump has legitimised Kim Jong Un on the world stage. The photo opportunity the world was waiting to see -- the two leaders clasping hands -- has also been a goal of the Kim dynasty for decades. And analysts noted that Trump was treating as an equal a man who only a few months ago seemed to be tipping the world towards nuclear war and whose regime has been accused of horrendous human rights

The rumor mill is churning out the possibility that Cindy McCain will take over her husband´s Arizona Senate seat should he resign due to his terminal illness. I have always suspected that she was the reason behind her husband choosing Sarah Palin as his running mate in 2008. Now, of course, he´s made public remarks that he regretted choosing the former Alaska governor, overlooking the fact that she gave his presidential campaign a much needed boost. What many conservatives don´t realize is that Cindy is way smarter than her husband and a much better person.

Two days after ABC canceled its top-rated series Roseanne following Roseanne Barr’s racist tweet about President Obama’s White House adviser Valerie Jarrett, the network is still formulating a plan about what will fill the hole in its schedule this fall. One possibility, however, would be an iteration of Roseanne without the involvement of Barr, and with a new title: in essence, Roseanne without Roseanne. As soon as tomorrow, the network could meet with Roseanne executive producers Sara Gilbert (who also plays TV daughter Darlene), Tom Werner and showrunner Bruce Helford to discuss options to bring back some version of

Comedian Samantha Bee on Thursday lost two advertisers for her TV show amid backlash for calling Ivanka Trump the c-word. Autotrader and State Farm insurance said on Thursday that they were dropping their ads from her TBS show “Full Frontal with Samantha Bee.” “The comments expressed by Samantha Bee were offensive and unacceptable and do not reflect the views of our company,” read a statement from Autotrader. “As a result, we have suspended our sponsorship of Full Frontal with Samantha Bee.” In a statement obtained by The Wrap, State Farm said, “We have asked TBS to suspend our advertising in the program

The pro-life niece of Martin Luther King, Jr. said that if Starbucks truly wanted to end racism, it would stop funding Planned Parenthood, the nation’s largest abortion provider. Alveda King, who serves as director of Civil Rights for the Unborn at Priests for Life, noted in a column at the Washington Examiner the attempt by Starbucks Tuesday to recover from the appearance of engaging in racist business practices. Starbucks made a point of publicizing it would be conducting a “racial-bias education” day for its employees in the wake of incidents last month in two of its stores that led to accusations of

Although his questioners at the time didn´t know what he was talking about, Fusion GPS chief Glenn Simpson raised eyebrows on Aug. 22, 2017, when he told Senate Judiciary Committee investigators that the FBI had a "human source" inside the Trump campaign. It´s still not clear what Simpson meant. Was he referring to Stefan Halper, now recognized as an FBI informant who tried to insinuate himself into the campaign? Or was it someone else? Congressional investigators still don´t know. But in light of the attention paid to Halper, it´s still worth going over precisely what Simpson said last year. Simpson was talking

Former first lady Laura Bush tore into the Trump administration for separating migrant families at the border, calling the “zero tolerance” policy “cruel” and “immoral.” Bush penned an op-ed for the Washington Post, which was published Sunday night as public outcry over the hundreds of children in detention centers intensified. “I live in a border state,” Bush wrote. “I appreciate the need to enforce and protect our international boundaries, but this zero-tolerance policy is cruel. It is immoral. And it breaks my heart.” Bush’s commentary comes as more images and accounts from inside the detention centers have

Roseanne Barr has become untouchable due to the "Valerie Jarrett/Ambien/Planet of the Apes" controversy, irrevocably contaminated by racism. This presents a problem for ABC, which canceled her revived show but wants the show to return in some form because it had high ratings. The apparent solution is to create a new show focused on the daughter character "Darlene," which would exclude Roseanne. Unfortunately, Roseanne Barr owns a chunk of the show, and ABC doesn´t want to be seen letting Barr profit from it, so ABC is in talks to buy the show from Barr so she would not technically profit

The Justice Department’s tepid OIG report, with its risible assertion that there was no political bias in the FBI’s Clinton email probe, suggests that it was written by people afraid to tell the unvarnished truth about the conduct of the federal government’s police apparatus, an agency that openly defies congressional oversight and has participated in a vendetta against a sitting president. The FBI’s leadership clearly hopes that the Democrats will win majorities in Congress and put a halt to the investigations into its multifarious abuses of power. The OIG is loath to face the ruthless reprisals that would inevitably follow

The president of Harvard´s teaching hospital got to thinking one day and decided there were too many portraits of white male doctors hung in a popular amphitheater. She bemoaned the horrible situation that people walking into the amphitheater didn´t feel like they "belonged." The problem cried out for a solution. So she moved several portraits of prominent white doctors in order to be more diverse and inclusive. Problem solved? Campus Reform: The hospital’s president, Dr. Betsy Nabel, told the Globe that moving the portraits is the right decision: “I have watched the faces of individuals as they have come into Bornstein.

FORT WAYNE, Ind. -- An Indiana hospital for the Department of Veterans Affairs temporarily removed its military flags to put up an LGBT pride flag Tuesday. Some veterans in Fort Wayne, Indiana arrived at the VA hospital Tuesday morning and noticed all the military flags had been removed. On one of the flagpoles was a rainbow flag, in honor of LGBT pride month, WPTA in Fort Wayne reported. Some people in the area questioned the VA´s decision. "It´s certainly worth recognizing the veterans who are from that community who have served," Jarrod Schwartz, a veteran, said. "It´s a little odd,

During a segment on HBO’s Real Time With Bill Maher, Maher called out abusive police officers and the people who protect him on Friday. “We need to stop saying most cops are good like we know that to be true,” Maher said. “I hope it’s true, but I need some evidence, unlike cops.” The HBO show host continued and said the violence exposed by the people who post the videos on social media is a problem. He questioned the kindness of police and questioned why there are

While speaking to a group of activists in San Francisco, Hillary Clinton stressed that gun control is a “political necessity” and part of “taking back” the country. Clinton ran gun control as a candidate in the 2016 election and lost. President Trump ran as pro-gun and LMT Online reports that Clinton is now criticizing him for standing with gun rights organizations. She said Trump “did everything he could to ingratiate himself with the gun lobby, and is now doing everything he can to gut existing laws.” Despite losing the election, Clinton claimed that “the vast majority of Americans” support the gun control position, adding,

A Massachusetts high school has halted yearbook sales after realizing that a senior quote inside was linked to Adolf Hitler. ´Make the lie big, make it simple, keep saying it, and eventually they will believe it,´ read the quote under one senior´s photo in the Andover High School yearbook, the school realized this week. The quote, though not word-for-word, seems to reference the concept of the ´big lie´ famous from the writings of both Hitler and Nazi propaganda minister Joseph Goebbles. Horrified at the discovery, the school halted yearbook sales and is offering a special sticker to those who have

The floats at the Boise Pride Festival have changed drastically over nearly three decades. Dallas Chase knows this well. Chase, 71, attended the first festival in Boise, an informal gathering in 1989. She was part of the team that built the first "float." It consisted of a borrowed wagon from her neighbor decorated with painted cardboard. "It was done in secret in my garage," Chase said. In those days, Chase said festivalgoers wore masks to avoid having their identities revealed. Anti-gay protesters would line the streets, dressed in black and holding aggressive, defamatory signs, said Robert Franklin, who was also

Phil Mickelson´s 48th birthday took a stunning turn at the US Open on Saturday when he stopped a putt from rolling off the 13th green. Clearly at the end of his tether after a shocking run of bogeys in his third round, the much-decorated American embarrassed himself when another putt rolled past the hole. Instead of waiting to see where it finished, he stopped the ball with his putter and knocked it back whence it came. (Photos/Video) It meant an automatic two-shot penalty and he ended up with a 10 for the hole. ´That´s absolutely amazing, that´s Phil basically giving
