Donald Trump Didn’t Want to Be President
New York Magazine, by Michael Wolff

On the afternoon of November 8, 2016, Kellyanne Conway settled into her glass office at Trump Tower. Right up until the last weeks of the race, the campaign headquarters had remained a listless place. All that seemed to distinguish it from a corporate back office were a few posters with right-wing slogans. Conway, the campaign’s manager, was in a remarkably buoyant mood, considering she was about to experience a resounding, if not cataclysmic, defeat. Donald Trump would lose the election — of this she was sure — but he would quite possibly hold the defeat to under six points. That

This is really from The Onion, right?

It reads like a fairy tale. All you have to do is look at WHAT his has done since elected! If he never wanted the job, he would follow Barack Obama´s example... being lazy and letting others do his job, while he never cared one day about the consequences of his actions.

Trump is the antithesis of Obama. If he doesn´t want to be President, it doesn´t matter.. he´s doing a hell of a job at it!

Maybe, just maybe 1% is true. The rest of what I read is anger emanating from small minds, like the ones at NR who wrote the anti-Trump letters while he was still a candidate.
The adults being in charge and having to maneuver the landmines buried by obummer and company prior to departure, is a new concept to those who bow to big government.
How does a very successful businessman suddenly become stupid? Only in small minds!

Put the correct name in the statement (Romney) and we might believe you. At least we have it from the very lips of Romney´s own son and his wife that he really didn´t want to win the 2012 election.

I suspect this guy´s book is going to go down in flames, as some of the most egregious of the statements are already being debunked in various places around the internet.

FTA: The decisions that Trump and his top advisers made in those first few months — from the slapdash transition to the disarray in the West Wing — set the stage for the chaos and dysfunction that have persisted throughout his first year in office.

Gee, with all that Trump has accomplished in his first year, imagine what he could have done if he had single-minded concentration on MAGAand the press were a wind at his back rather than 95% negative against him.

The "didn´t" want to become president and the "colluded with" is coming from the same brain damaged Left. So which one of their diametrically opposed theories (if any) are we supposed to believe? Maybe it´s true. Maybe not. An old story has it that at the 1st little league organizational meeting in my town, the league president asked for a show of parents´ hands who wanted to manage a team. The president then selected those WITHOUT their hands in the air; felling they´d make better team managers.

C) Trump held rallies (sometimes eight a day) to become what he didn´t want to become. Did I get that right? It´s all what the liberal media reported about Donald Trump. The inundation of preposterous “news” excerpts and/or stories to destroy President Trump by alluding to a variety of serious personality disorders reeks of purposeful orchestration, much like the “golden showers” dossier, to set the stage for the Left’s grandiose plan to remove him from office. The stench appears to emanate from, and envelope, Saul Alinsky’s “Rules for Radicals.” Whether or not much of the mainstream media believe the accusations or not, the Left knows that their low-information constituents are easily fooled, so their dastardly deeds serve to achieve their goals—accomplished by utilizing Alinsky’s “Rules for Radicals.”

Actually, throughout my life, my two greatest assets have been mental stability and being, like, really smart. Crooked Hillary Clinton also played these cards very hard and, as everyone knows, went down in flames. I went from VERY successful businessman, to top T.V. Actually he might be correct.

Unlike swamp dwelling career politicians I don´t think being president was Trump´s lifetime dream. He would probably have been content to just continue in the business world where he made his success. But he saw where things in DC were headed and felt called to do something about it.

When you think of it that way the word Patriot comes to mind.

#43- Well-stated. Delusional/sanctimonious mainstream media devoid of real world integrity passes judgment on the President and family who have lived and continue to live in the real world and not the fairy tale world of the media. Example: The facial expression of Melania at the inauguration after her husband turned and said something to her going from a beaming smile to a solemn expression has been portrayed as being due to her husband’s comments to her. More likely, Melania’s religious convictions reacted appropriately, reverentially, to the solemnity of the moment wherein the Reverend Franklin Graham was speaking.

If Trump had a moment of doubt about running for President, it wasn´t because he thought he would lose. And it wasn´t because of the risk to his life [from a shadow government hit-man, or "disappointed office seeker" or crackpot]. I really believe he knew every other candidate lacked the Americanism, and vision, and leadership skills and timing and energy to fix what had to be fixed, and the guts and God-fearing honesty to inspire a return to exceptionalism. Given Obama has the country hanging by a thread, he sees the problems clearly. He know how to bring in the job under budget and under schedule. Also no conservative America, no winner as a Commander in Chief -- no Trump empire.

At best, this book by Woolf is a literary caricature, heavily slanted to appease the truth that the left would like to hear, and worry the right. He has brilliant disclaimers in his forward that give him literary license to stretch the truth that semi-protects him from libel or slander.

The problem is it stretches the credulity of most logical people. The presidents demonstrated effectiveness in producing or making progress toward all of his promises as shown in the first year are undeniable demonstrations of his competence, whether you agree with his actions or not. Especially when he as accomplished these feats against unprecedented and illegal sabotage.

I´m not worried about this book. It reduces the credibility of the author and all who repeat this orchestrated tripe, and produces awe, even in those who do not want the president to succeed.

From 1989 to 1993, Barbara Bush made the second hardest job in America look easy. This achievement was particularly impressive considering she was sandwiched between two lighting-rod-like first ladies. Barbara Bush could see what Nancy Reagan and Hillary Clinton could not: the unwritten rules governing this extraconstitutional position. Gossamer shackles restrain the woman standing on what Nancy Reagan called the “white glove pulpit”—a recognition of the political delicacy the modern job of first lady requires. It’s a dangerous delusion to think otherwise, as Reagan and Clinton found out the hard way—and Melania Trump may well learn in time. First ladies juggle

Facebook has deleted some of Mark Zuckerberg´s private messages over fears sensitive data could be leaked. Three sources claim old Facebook messages from Zuckerberg have disappeared from their inbox. The recipients were not notified - raising concerns about what the Facebook CEO could be hiding. Facebook claims the change was made after the 2014 Sony Pictures hack, when a mass data breach at the movie studio resulted in embarrassing email histories being leaked. However, the lack of disclosure has angered some users, along with the absence of a similar tool to recall messages for normal users.

WASHINGTON — At least five officials at the Environmental Protection Agency, four of them high-ranking, were reassigned or demoted, or requested new jobs in the past year after they raised concerns about the spending and management of the agency’s administrator, Scott Pruitt. The concerns included unusually large spending on office furniture and first-class travel, as well as certain demands by Mr. Pruitt for security coverage, such as requests for a bulletproof vehicle and an expanded 20-person protective detail, according to people who worked for or with the E.P.A. and have direct knowledge of the situation. Mr. Pruitt bristled when the officials —

Did you know that this year marks the 20th anniversary of a black actor portraying a Marvel superhero in a big budget studio film? No, I am not writing about Black Panther from the future. No, you have not Rip Van Winkle’d to the year 2038. The truth is that this is the 20th anniversary of Blade, a $45 million Marvel superhero movie distributed by New Line (which was part of Time-Warner) that starred Wesley Snipes, a black man. Blade was also a hit in 1998, going on to gross $131 million. Two sequels soon followed. Blade II arrived in 2002 with a $54 million budget and a $155 million gross. Oh, and Blade II was not directed by a

President Donald Trump said on Thursday he did not know about a $130,000 payment made to the adult film actress Stormy Daniels for her silence, his first public acknowledgment of the scandal surrounding an alleged sexual affair that has plagued him for months. "No," a terse Trump told reporters aboard Air Force One when questioned about his knowledge of the payment, which was made by his private attorney Michael Cohen in the month before the 2016 election. The one word response broke a months-long public silence from Trump on the matter, though he´s fumed about the issue in private and adamantly denied

WASHINGTON – Malik Shabazz, former chairman of the New Black Panther Party and president of Black Lawyers for Justice, called on President Trump to provide reparations for slavery or designate territory solely for African-Americans. “We must have reparations, full compensation for the theft of our land, the theft of our bodies, the theft of our people from Africa, the theft of our dignity; the desecration of our souls decade after decade after decade after decade. New York Times reporter Amy Chozick has a new book on Hillary Clinton and the 2016 election, and one anecdote in particular from it was getting attention on Friday. It's from election night, when Chozick writes in Chasing Hillary: Ten Years, Two Presidential Campaigns, and One Intact Glass Ceiling that it finally became clear somebody had to break the news to Clinton that she was going to lose to Donald Trump. The task fell to "Robby Mook, the drained and deflated campaign manager," per an excerpt in the Times. And when he finally did so, Clinton "didn't seem all that surprised," writes Chozick. Then the key Clinton quote: "'I knew it. I knew this would happen to me,' she said, now within

Cannabis is responsible for 91 per cent of cases where teenagers end up being treated for drug addiction, shocking new figures reveal. Supporters of the drug claim it is harmless, but an official report now warns the ‘increased dominance of high-potency herbal cannabis’ – known as skunk – is causing more young people to seek treatment. (Snip) At least two studies have shown repeated use triples the risk of psychosis, with sufferers repeatedly experiencing delusional thoughts. Some victims end up taking their own lives.

NEW YORK — Hillary Clinton excoriated President Donald Trump for his treatment of the media, saying in remarks on Sunday that press rights and free speech are “under open assault” in the current administration, which she compared to an authoritarian regime. “We are living through an all-out war on truth, facts and reason,” Clinton said at the PEN America World Voices Festival, in Manhattan. “When leaders deny things we can see with our own eyes, like the size of a crowd at the inauguration, when they refuse to accept settled science when it comes to urgent challenges like climate change

Imagine a combination of Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama, and you´ve got Kamala Harris, the current seat-warming senator from California who, like Obama, is using the World´s Greatest Deliberative Body as a resume-puncher before swiftly moving on to bigger things: the 2020 Democrat presidential nomination. Even as a nobody senator, she´s been the subject of dozens, perhaps scores of speculative stories about her future, so now -- lest they build her up too quickly -- Politico and other Democrat cheerleaders are cautioning her to get her ducks in order before heading out on the hustings: "Kamala Harris has been called “the

The gunman who opened fire at a Nashville Waffle House with an AR-15 wearing nothing but a green jacket is still on the run and police have warned he is armed and dangerous. Travis Reinking, 29, shot dead four people and injured several more at the Waffle House in Antioch early Sunday morning before shedding his jacket and fleeing. Police said Reinking had his Illinois gun license revoked last year at the request of the FBI and four of his weapons were seized by authorities in Tazewell back in October. Residents in the San Francisco Bay Area are living along a fault that is a "ticking time bomb" that could generate an earthquake that could kill hundreds, according to a report released Wednesday. The U.S. Geological Survey said in a report called the "HayWired Scenario" that a magnitude 7.0 earthquake on Hayward Fault located under Oakland could kill as many as 800 people and injure up to 18,000. “This fault is what we sort of call a tectonic time bomb,” USGS earthquake geologist emeritus David Schwartz told the Los Angeles Times. “It’s just waiting to go off.” Researches said the Hayward Fault is dangerous because it runs through

A funny thing happened on the way to this week’s column — Sen. Jon Tester did something I liked. On Wednesday, Sen. Tester took part in a Senate Commerce Committee hearing where he blasted someone who is perhaps the least popular man in America. No, not Jeff Zuckerberg (he is SO last week!). I’m talking about Adrian Abramovitch. Chances are, you’ve never heard of Abramovitch, but even so, I am confident that — along with me and Sen. Tester — you don’t like him!
