Donald Trump Didn’t Want to Be President
New York Magazine, by Michael Wolff

On the afternoon of November 8, 2016, Kellyanne Conway settled into her glass office at Trump Tower. Right up until the last weeks of the race, the campaign headquarters had remained a listless place. All that seemed to distinguish it from a corporate back office were a few posters with right-wing slogans. Conway, the campaign’s manager, was in a remarkably buoyant mood, considering she was about to experience a resounding, if not cataclysmic, defeat. Donald Trump would lose the election — of this she was sure — but he would quite possibly hold the defeat to under six points. That

This is really from The Onion, right?

It reads like a fairy tale. All you have to do is look at WHAT his has done since elected! If he never wanted the job, he would follow Barack Obama´s example... being lazy and letting others do his job, while he never cared one day about the consequences of his actions.

Trump is the antithesis of Obama. If he doesn´t want to be President, it doesn´t matter.. he´s doing a hell of a job at it!

I couldn´t make it to the end of this tripe!
Maybe, just maybe 1% is true. The rest of what I read is anger emanating from small minds, like the ones at NR who wrote the anti-Trump letters while he was still a candidate.
The adults being in charge and having to maneuver the landmines buried by obummer and company prior to departure, is a new concept to those who bow to big government.
How does a very successful businessman suddenly become stupid? Only in small minds!

Put the correct name in the statement (Romney) and we might believe you. At least we have it from the very lips of Romney´s own son and his wife that he really didn´t want to win the 2012 election.

I suspect this guy´s book is going to go down in flames, as some of the most egregious of the statements are already being debunked in various places around the internet.

FTA: The decisions that Trump and his top advisers made in those first few months — from the slapdash transition to the disarray in the West Wing — set the stage for the chaos and dysfunction that have persisted throughout his first year in office.

Gee, with all that Trump has accomplished in his first year, imagine what he could have done if he had single-minded concentration on MAGAand the press were a wind at his back rather than 95% negative against him.

The "didn´t" want to become president and the "colluded with" is coming from the same brain damaged Left. So which one of their diametrically opposed theories (if any) are we supposed to believe? Maybe it´s true. Maybe not. An old story has it that at the 1st little league organizational meeting in my town, the league president asked for a show of parents´ hands who wanted to manage a team. The president then selected those WITHOUT their hands in the air; felling they´d make better team managers.

C) Trump held rallies (sometimes eight a day) to become what he didn´t want to become. Did I get that right? It´s all what the liberal media reported about Donald Trump. The inundation of preposterous “news” excerpts and/or stories to destroy President Trump by alluding to a variety of serious personality disorders reeks of purposeful orchestration, much like the “golden showers” dossier, to set the stage for the Left’s grandiose plan to remove him from office. The stench appears to emanate from, and envelope, Saul Alinsky’s “Rules for Radicals.” Whether or not much of the mainstream media believe the accusations or not, the Left knows that their low-information constituents are easily fooled, so their dastardly deeds serve to achieve their goals—accomplished by utilizing Alinsky’s “Rules for Radicals.”

Crooked Hillary Clinton also played these cards very hard and, as everyone knows, went down in flames. I went from VERY successful businessman, to top T.V. Unlike swamp dwelling career politicians I don´t think being president was Trump´s lifetime dream. He would probably have been content to just continue in the business world where he made his success. But he saw where things in DC were headed and felt called to do something about it.

When you think of it that way the word Patriot comes to mind.

#43- Well-stated. Delusional/sanctimonious mainstream media devoid of real world integrity passes judgment on the President and family who have lived and continue to live in the real world and not the fairy tale world of the media. Example: The facial expression of Melania at the inauguration after her husband turned and said something to her going from a beaming smile to a solemn expression has been portrayed as being due to her husband’s comments to her. More likely, Melania’s religious convictions reacted appropriately, reverentially, to the solemnity of the moment wherein the Reverend Franklin Graham was speaking.

If Trump had a moment of doubt about running for President, it wasn´t because he thought he would lose. And it wasn´t because of the risk to his life [from a shadow government hit-man, or "disappointed office seeker" or crackpot]. I really believe he knew every other candidate lacked the Americanism, and vision, and leadership skills and timing and energy to fix what had to be fixed, and the guts and God-fearing honesty to inspire a return to exceptionalism. Given Obama has the country hanging by a thread, he sees the problems clearly. He know how to bring in the job under budget and under schedule. Also no conservative America, no winner as a Commander in Chief -- no Trump empire.

At best, this book by Woolf is a literary caricature, heavily slanted to appease the truth that the left would like to hear, and worry the right. He has brilliant disclaimers in his forward that give him literary license to stretch the truth that semi-protects him from libel or slander.

The problem is it stretches the credulity of most logical people. The presidents demonstrated effectiveness in producing or making progress toward all of his promises as shown in the first year are undeniable demonstrations of his competence, whether you agree with his actions or not. Especially when he as accomplished these feats against unprecedented and illegal sabotage.

I´m not worried about this book. It reduces the credibility of the author and all who repeat this orchestrated tripe, and produces awe, even in those who do not want the president to succeed.

In a tweet Sunday, Sen. Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif., a member and former chair of the Senate Intelligence Committee, boiled down special counsel Robert Mueller´s new Russian election-meddling indictment to one basic lesson: "Key point in Special Counsel Mueller´s indictment: A dozen Russian military intelligence officials conducted the hacking of Democrats during the 2016 campaign." Other commentators, most with less knowledge than Feinstein, offered similar assessments. Regardless of what President Trump might say, they noted, the indictment showed very clearly that the Russians — Russian military intelligence, specifically — did it. What few mentioned was that there had been a similar assessment —

He’d told her how to do it, he claimed, and she failed to take his advice. This hit the internet as Mr. Trump was finishing his dinner with Mrs. May, and scores of others, at Blenheim Palace.

Republican senators are at their breaking point with Donald Trump’s protectionist trade blitz. Not a party meeting goes by these days where multiple Republicans don’t vent that the president isn’t listening to them — and plot how to fight back. “I’d like to kill ’em,” groused Finance Committee Chairman Orrin Hatch (R-Utah), a close Trump ally, referring to the administration’s expanding list of tariffs. The mounting frustration with the Republican president is a warning sign for the party amid what’s been a surprisingly favorable stretch. Trump appears, at least for now, to have weathered the internal GOP backlash against his family separation policy.

Federal Hatch Act investigators have opened a complaint file on the Justice Department employee who was part of a mob that chased Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen from a restaurant earlier last month. The U.S. Office of Special Counsel, which polices employees who illegally engage in politicking as government employees, has assigned a case number and a lawyer to the complaint against Allison Hrabar. Ms. Hrabar, a paralegal at the Justice Department, was part of a group from the Democratic Socialists of America that showed up at a Mexican restaurant to disrupt Ms. Nielsen’s meal. Their protest was filmed and posted online. Ms.

After returning from a tour of some of the war zones in the Middle East — which ended with the Free Iran Gathering 2018 in Paris — I am struck by the realization that America really did have a Manchurian Candidate in The White House for eight years. If you look at the evidence, there really is no other conclusion. The calamitous consequences of the Obama presidency will be felt for the foreseeable future. In the short year and a half that President Trump has been in office, he has put in place policy that has mitigated the damage that President

An ordinary morning in New York City last week for President Trump’s son Eric Trump abruptly turned frantic when he rushed to the aid of a woman who passed out near a train station, dodging rush-hour traffic to chase down a passing ambulance. According to an eyewitness account provided to Secrets, Trump and his security detail stopped to tend to the unidentified woman outside of the F train stop near 57th Street and 6th Avenue on Wednesday morning. Our tipster, who requested anonymity, said Trump then spotted a passing ambulance and rushed to stop it. “I watched as Eric looked up, spotted an

Prince Charles and Prince William reportedly ‘snubbed’ the US President during his visit to Britain - leaving the Queen to meet Donald Trump alone at Windsor Castle. The royal father and son apparently shared their desire to not take part in the arrangements during informal discussions regarding the president’s four-day tour. Trump’s trip was not a state visit and so only the Queen greeted the president and his wife Melania. However even on working trips dignitaries expect to see more members of the royal family than only the Queen. When deciding which royals to include in the meeting, senior courtiers shared concerns about

Saturday on MSNBC, Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA) said President Donald Trump criticizes former President Barack Obama because “he’s jealous of Obama and his administration.” When asked about Trump tweeting that President Obama should have done more about Russian’s interfering in our elections, Waters said, “First of all, let me say this: If the president wrote out at some point and said the sky is falling and it is Obama’s fault, and everybody knows he likes to blame Obama for any and everything that he can come up with. And in addition to that, it is very clear that he’s jealous

Judge Brett Kavanaugh is going into the Supreme Court confirmation process with a hail of rhetorical arrows zinging by him, including a phony letter-writing campaign aimed at unsuspecting American newspaper editors. At least 21 papers were duped last week, including big-market brands like the Dallas Morning News and The Washington Times. They ran identical letters over a four-day period, each signed by a different person. The effort is an example of public-relations ´astroturfing,´ a technique meant to simulate genuine grassroots support for an idea or cause. The man who co-wrote “The Art of the Deal” said Sunday he believes President Trump’s faculties are diminishing — and that he feels obligated to sound the alarm. “We are in a true emergency,” Tony Schwartz said on CNN Sunday. “And the accelerated rate at which his breakdown or decompensation is occurring is cause for us, and certainly for me, to come on to TV more often, to tweet more often.” Schwartz told CNN’s Brian Stelter that he felt comfortable making that assessment because he had “spent an enormous time with [Trump] over a period of 18 months.”(snip)Stelter pointed out that Schwartz

Meghan Markle‘s smile is hiding fear, stress and the pressure of adjusting to her new royal duties, her father said in an interview published Sunday. “I think she is terrified,” Thomas Markle told The Sun. “I see it in her eyes, I see it in her face and I see it in her smile.” “I’ve seen her smile for years. I know her smile. I don’t like the one I’m seeing now,” he added. “This is a pained smile.”The newly-minted Duchess of Sussex, 36, is struggling to cope with the transition from TV actress to a member of the royal

San Francisco Mayor London Breed said the streets of her city are flooded with the excrement of the homeless in an interview Friday. Breed, a Democrat who was inaugurated as San Francisco’s mayor Wednesday, urged homeless advocacy groups that receive money from the city to teach homeless people to “clean up after themselves.” “There is more feces on the sidewalks than I’ve ever seen growing up here,” Breed told KNTV. “That is a huge problem and we are not just talking about from dogs — we’re talking about from humans.” The streets of San Francisco are littered with a “dangerous

Whether Democrats realize it or not, the names being tossed as potential 2020 challengers to President Trump are weak. It’s milquetoast. All far too left for the American voter, and all with rigid regional appeal. Who knows who Sen. Cory Booker (D-NJ) is outside of New Jersey? The same could be said for Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY). Sen. Elizabeth Warren’s (D-MA) doesn’t resonate outside of the Boston suburbs. And Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA), well, she’s working hard to boost her profile, but she’s running aground with the Bernie crowd. Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) could run again, but his age—and the

Democratic Tennessee Rep. Steve Cohen on Monday called for the “military folks” to save America from President Donald Trump after Trump’s much-criticized press conference with Russian President Vladimir Putin. “Where are our military folks? The Commander in Chief is in the hands of our enemy!” Cohen wrote on Twitter, using language suggestive of a military coup. (Tweet) Cohen later said that he was in no way calling for a coup. “No coup called for,” he wrote, claiming it unlikely that someone would call for a coup on Twitter. Cohen’s bizarre tweet was similar to one from former Obama CIA Director

President Donald Trump’s comments during a joint press conference with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Monday were “treasonous,” former CIA Director John Brennan asserted. “Donald Trump’s press conference performance in Helsinki rises to & exceeds the threshold of ‘high crimes & misdemeanors,’” Brennan, a vocal Trump critic, wrote on Twitter. “It was nothing short of treasonous. Not only were Trump’s comments imbecilic, he is wholly in the pocket of Putin. A 63-year-old father of 43 children was found beaten to death Sunday afternoon in his home on Chicago´s West Side. The body of John Hearring -- known as Nicholas -- was discovered with head trauma in his upstairs apartment in the 1000-block of North Leamington Avenue in the South Austin neighborhood. Multiple family members confirmed that he had 43 children. Hearring was a long-time resident there and well-known in the neighborhood. "He was the nicest man you´d ever want to meet. I don´t get it. All this killing is so senseless and now they are targeting the elderly," said Gwen Bridgeforth, his daughter-in-law.
