New Trump NLRB Delivers
on Employer Promises

Industry Week, by David Sparkman

Original Article

Posted By:nhchemist, 1/3/2018 11:55:40 AM

For most of the Obama era, the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) pushed the legal envelope on every front in order to promote the interests of labor unions. Under President Trump, once the board finally attained a Republican majority—even if only for a few days—that battered envelope began to be repaired. It took until this fall for President Trump to finally nominate and obtain Senate confirmation of two new Republicans to the board, employer attorneys Marvin Kaplan and William Emanuel. Trump also finally nominated and got Peter B. Robb confirmed as the new NLRB General Counsel.

Comments:
Joint employers and micro unions hardest hit.

What does this even have to do with academics? Nothing. Serious study is being replaced with social justice activism. The College Fix reports: Gender studies coordinator offers ‘checklist’ to determine if you support white supremacy An English professor and gender studies program coordinator at Linfield College has come up with a list of fifteen “troubles” to help recognize “(un)conscious contributions to white supremacy.” Reshmi Dutt-Ballerstadt says that “for faculty of color, women and particularly those scholars who are outspoken about dismantling the master narratives of white supremacy within our colleges and universities, playing by the rules is neither an option

HOLDERNESS - Founded in 1897, Rockywold-Deephaven Camps on Squam Lake combines modernity and tradition, offering guests both Wi-Fi and, in a nod to the past, iceboxes. Last week, as they have done for almost a century, RDC staff and friends spent three days harvesting ice off the Deep End section of the lake, some 200 tons worth that will be used to fill the camps´ 60 ice boxes during the summer season. (Snip) "We´ve never run out of ice," said Jurczynski, noting that during the summer of 2017, which was cooler than normal, the camps used more firewood than ice.

Undated – About one dozen Mark’s Pizzeria locations will soon be closing. We’re told three Rochester locations will shut down: Eastview Mall, The Mall at Greece Ridge and at Honeoye Lake. 13WHAM learned that the Honeoye location will be renamed under new ownership. Other shops will be closing in the Syracuse area. "It´s a big hit," said George Conboy, Chairman of Brighton Securities. Conboy told 13WHAM that a minimum wage hike coming in 2018 doesn´t help the bottom line for small businesses in New York State.

CONCORD, NH — A local Democrat and state representative pleaded guilty this morning to assaulting a political opponent during a state Senate ballot recount in November 2016. State Rep. Katherine Rogers, D-Concord, 61, pleaded guilty to the assault charge as part of a plea deal that would help her avoid jail time as well as a fine so long as she stays out of trouble during the next year and attends anger management classes during the next 90-days. Both Rogers and the victim – Susan Olsen, a former state representative candidate from Warner and a well-known 2nd Amendment rights activist

DURHAM - On-campus students at the University of New Hampshire who are also parents got the ultimate sticker shock last week - a $17,600 bill per child. That´s what they´ll need to start paying starting in July for each child enrolled in the Oyster River Cooperative School District. This new charge will be levied on residents who are parents living in the Forest Park housing complex on campus - located at 4 Demeritt Circle and just behind Kingsbury Hall. The space is reserved for married undergraduate and graduate students with families, as well as staff and faculty with children.

New Hampshire´s voter data has been ready for submission to President Donald Trump´s commission on voter fraud for a month, but the commission appears to have no interest in receiving it, at least not for now. Officials from the Secretary of State´s Office have tried to find out how to submit the data, but no one on the commission staff has even responded to a phone call, let alone provided direction. It seems that the state´s voter data is all dressed up with nowhere to go.

Warner, N.H.—The proposal for an indoor gun range and firearms shop didn’t cause a big stir at first in this small, rural town in New Hampshire, a state with some of the least restrictive gun laws in the nation. But three mornings after the mass shooting Nov. 5 at a church in Sutherland Springs, Texas, Warner resident Julie Orlando-Gibson emailed the local zoning board and urged them to reject the plan. Donald Kreis, head of New Hampshire´s Office of the Consumer Advocate, says Protect the Granite State (PTGS) is within its rights to protect the identity of its donors. And industrial employers pay more for electricity than their competitors in 43 other states. NBC plans to televise any players who refuse to stand for “The Star-Spangled Banner” at the Super Bowl, but there may be nothing to show. It appears that NFL players are no longer taking a knee during the national anthem, namely because none of the teams with still-active protesters has qualified for the postseason. By the end of the regular season, only five teams featured at least one player regularly sitting or kneeling on the sidelines for the anthem: the Seattle Seahawks, the San Francisco 49ers, the Miami Dolphins, the New York Giants and the Oakland Raiders. Ever since Donald Trump entered the political arena, his intelligence has been viciously attacked and his supporters have been labeled as moronic deplorables. In a recent Trump tweet, the president responded to the most recent attack by saying he is a stable genius. The mainstream media never bothered checking evidence of Obama´s intelligence before one historian declared him "the smartest man with the highest IQ ever to be elected to the presidency", even though his academic records were sealed. A crazed, bug-eyed Cory Booker, junior senator from New Jersey, blasted Department of Homeland Security secretary Kristjen Nielsen during a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing yesterday on immigration. Booker became so unhinged in his staged outrage that he repeatedly threatened Nielsen, with clenched fists pointed in her direction. Equal to Booker´s overt violation of Nielsen´s right to be treated without hostility and intimidation was the deranged content of his tirade. Nielsen had stated earlier she did not hear the president say the "s-hole" word at last week´s White House meeting on DACA. Booker went ballistic and accused Nielsen of covering up

Instead, he leaps in to pile on after presidential missteps. While insisting he wants Mr. Trump to succeed, Mr. Kasich has pointedly refused to rule out mounting a primary challenge against the president in 2020.

Three-quarters of the members of a federally chartered board advising the National Park Service abruptly quit Monday night out of frustration that Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke had refused to meet with them or convene a single meeting last year. The resignation of nine out of 12 National Park System Advisory Board members leaves the federal government without a functioning body to designate national historic or natural landmarks. It also underscores the extent to which federal advisory bodies have become marginalized under the Trump administration. In May 2017, Zinke suspended all outside committees while his staff reviewed their composition and work. In a
