President Donald Trump fired back at North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un on Tuesday night after he threatened the United States, saying that he too has a "nuclear button" on his desk. In a televised New Year´s address on Monday, Jong Un said, “The entire mainland of the U.S. is within the range of our nuclear weapons and the nuclear button is always on the desk of my office. They should accurately be aware that this is not a threat but a reality.” Trump fired back in a tweet late on Tuesday, writing, "North Korean Leader Kim Jong Un just

Bill Clinton had no button at all during his second term. It´s not actually a button, the US pres. has an id card with a code# he has to provide when he makes the call to order bombs. Clinton lost his nuclear id card at some point, everyone helped him look for it, never found it. He couldn´t remember when he last had it. Of course, this wasn´t revealed until after he was out of office and then only quietly. It was very serious. If the US had been attacked, the military would´ve been powerless to retaliate. They can´t take the order without the code. A friendly reporter called Clinton about this in 2010 and was told no comment.

I can´t say I´m thrilled by Trump´s bigger button diplomacy. But speaking the same language is often necessary to work out deals. And Kimchi seems stuck in his juvenile power trip, so Trump is speaking a language he understands.

This could be the first progress we make in dealing with the Norks since the ´50s. (At that time the common language was bombing runs...)

President Trump just wants to make sure that Kim does not make a big mistake by telling Kim the truth. Nothing wrong with that since wars have started in the past through wrong impressions on the part of aggressive but foolish leaders.

Protesters today vowed to disrupt Donald Trump´s visit to Britain on July 13 with mas protests. The US President will come to the UK for talks with Theresa May after travelling to Europe for a NATO summit. The confirmation of the working trip - which will not have all the pomp and ceremony of a state visit - comes after months of difficult wrangling between the White House and Downing Street over the plans. But it sparked immediate threats of protest as activists said they would ´take to the streets´ to vent their fury at his visit. Jeremy Corbyn-backing activist

Secretary of state nominee Mike Pompeo narrowly eked out an endorsement from the Senate Foreign Relations Committee on Monday after President Trump and a Democratic senator intervened at the last minute, all but guaranteeing that he will be confirmed by the full Senate later this week. Pompeo had seemed unlikely to secure a majority of the panel’s support. But Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.), who had pledged to oppose him, tweeted moments before the vote that Trump had talked with him and changed his mind. Paul’s key concern had been that Pompeo, currently director of the CIA, would not support Trump’s

But Kelly’s introduction to NBC, premiering at the 9 a.m. hour in September, was met with almost immediate controversy — a feud with Jane Fonda that the morning show host dragged out for months — and she never drew the viewership that the network was looking for. That’s a problem for Republicans, who now need to sort through the results to determine how problematic the landscape will be for them in November.
