Utah Senator Orrin Hatch

After serving seven terms as Utah´s senator, Orrin Hatch announced Tuesday he plans to retire. "When the President visited Utah last month, he said I was a fighter. I´ve always been a fighter. I was an amateur boxer in my youth, and I brought that fighting spirit with me to Washington. But every good fighter knows when to hang up the gloves. And for me, that time is soon approaching," he said in a video. The senator said when his term ends he will not seek re-election. I have no doubt that Senator Hatch is a fine man. BUT. For the life of me, I can´t think of one thing he has accomplished.

Good, seven terms is too long regardless of party. Too much cronyism and removal from the constituents that they were elected to serve (i.e John McCain).

Utah, if you get on the ball and work hard you can avoid a Uniparty win here with the former presidential candidate that many think laid down for the 44th president to carry on in his destruction.

GET ON IT! Get the best candidate that can win against the former presidential candidate. The Uniparty is counting on this seat. Do Not Let Them Have It! #MAGA depends on it!

Personally, I think any senator/congressperson should be phased out of Congress before they reach 75/80 years of age. Not sure which. But, I believe they should be retired (made to retire). Most companies (unless the person owns them) forces retirement on us civilians at least by 70. Why should these "power mongers" be allowed to sit there and dictate to us until they´re senile. I would think they´d rather retire and spend time with their families in their "golden" years. Instead, they stick around to inflict laws they don´t want to obey themselves.

No beef with Orrin Hatch, but we´ve got old lady Feinstein here in CA who plans to run again this year--she´s 84 and rich; she doesn´t need anymore added to her pension. But she just keeps on "running" (I´m sure she couldn´t run 1/4 mile physically). Term limits, age limit, whatever.

Mitt has paid his dues as far as the Bush moderates, GOPe leadership is concerned and he has spent millions setting himself up to buy some political power. So, its true, he IS a shoo-in. Mia Love has proven to be a non-boat rocker so she will not cross the establishment by challenging Mitt. No way.

#7, you are right about the Mormons not liking Trump. They are much more socially liberal than most people know. They are just quiet about it. PDJT is way too conservative for them.

It´s wrong to stereotype ANY group. I´m a participating "Mormon," and I certainly don´t consider myself to be "socially liberal."

1) I´m anti-abortion in almost ANY circumstances (possible exception - life of mother or child).
2) I´m fully supportive of "build the wall."
3) I´m anti-amnesty. (We can talk about the law-abiding and contributing "dreamers" - AFTER the wall has been funded and is underway.)
4) Does this make me "socially liberal"? I´m fully in favor of decriminalizing demon reefer. It´s none of the government´s damn business! (I consider that socially conservative.)

Some Mormons are more liberal than me... many are more conservative, except for the reefer thing.

Hatch was a superstar in the C. Thomas confirmation hearings. When Chairman Biden left the room late in the hearings (and not in Primetime), the rules of the committe were trashed by Senators Kennedy and Metzenbaum. While these two idiots did try the usual Democrat hatchet job, Hatch put the brakes on it and forced Senator Biden, when he returned to correct things. Hatch was a trooper with Reagan. Hatch has done a great job at times. Its just he is long past his ´use by´ date. Good move Senator Hatch and enjoy your well deserved retirement.

It´s always funny when posters warn me about things while supporting GOP establishment candidates who exemplify those things. People came to Trump at different times for different reasons. After the election, Mitt Romney came to Trump when he wanted a job.

Before that, Romney was the most prominent Never Trumper in the GOP. He did everything in his power to lose the presidency to Hillary Clinton.

Mitt Romney is, and always has been, a politically unprincipled opportunist. We elect guys like this at our peril.

Before he was fired as FBI director, James Comey told President Donald Trump that he would be “honestly loyal” to the president and would not commit “weasel moves” in his administration. Comey detailed his conversation with the president during a dinner with Trump at the White House on January 28. “I said I don’t do sneaky things, I don’t leak, I don’t do weasel moves,” Comey wrote in the memo, promising that he would “always tell him the truth.” Comey said that Trump told him that he needed loyalty, but in response, Comey wrote that “I did not reply, or

Redacted memos written by disgraced former FBI Director James Comey were published online on Thursday evening. Comey penned seven memos stemming from nine conversations he had with President Trump during his time at the FBI. The president blasted Comey in a midnight tweet. The memos show there was no collusion and no obstruction. Not once did Comey express that he felt threatened or obstructed by Trump in his memos. Trump also pointed out that Comey leaked classified information then asked, “will the witch hunt continue?” Trump tweeted: James Comey Memos just out and show clearly that there was NO COLLUSION and NO OBSTRUCTION.

If you want to know how teens today feel about gender and sexuality, look no further than the spectacle of prom coronations. In Mississippi, a lesbian couple lobbied to become prom king and queen. In Georgia, the class president, who is gay, started a petition to change prom court titles to the more inclusive “Prom Royalty." Some transgender students are pushing schools to re-imagine what teen nobility looks like. Prom has historically been a bastion of stereotypical gender roles. The girl in a beautiful gown, the boy in a tux. Prom king is a guy, prom queen is a girl.

Comey did so by saying Trump was thinking about having Comey prove that the salacious allegations in the document weren´t true. If those allegations were true, the last thing in the world Trump would want is the FBI taking a closer look at them. Remember that at that time, the FBI was saying it couldn´t verify the accounts, meaning that if Trump were guilty he would think that he was safe. So why would he then risk everything and ask the FBI do a deep dive into allegations that were true? Given that the conversation was in private, there was

Those relate to the agency’s purchase of a $43,000 sound booth for his office and spending on travel and security. The resolution was signed by 39 senators in the 100-member Senate, which is controlled by Pruitt’s fellow Republicans. Although Republicans can defeat it, the resolution is symbolically important because it represents the most senators ever to call for a Cabinet member’s ouster in resolution, its sponsors said.
