Anthony Scaramucci is insisting that the recent reports about him are not true and that he’s not about to get a new job in the White House. “The Mooch” claims to speak with Donald Trump on a regular basis, and according to The Daily Beast, the former communications director recently told friends that the president misses having him in the West Wing. These associates told the news outlet that it seems like Scaramucci believes he will soon get another whack at a career in Trumpworld. The Daily Beast noted that there was a lot of skepticism of Scaramucci’s supposed claims

We are in the era of fake news. Nothing can be taken at face value anymore. We have an article on this site stating the exact opposite of what this article maintains.

Staff needs a rapid response Zap button to quickly delete fake news. :-) Commenting on such news is a waste of time. I posted "Fake News Alert" on the first article. There´s a good chance I was right.

I do anticipate a major shakeup in the White House Staff before the end of January. I expect Jeff Sessions will be replaced . . . that may be wishful thinking, on my part.

Pattern Starts To Emerge In Political
Corruption Cases That Bodes Ill for Prosecutors

One way to make sense of the onslaught of political corruption investigations and prosecutions in recent years is to understand it as our legal system trying to draw the line between political misbehavior that is merely shady and that which is outright criminal. Instead of looking at each of these cases in isolation, it makes more sense to see them as a pattern — and one that should provide some at least limited reassurance to President Trump, Prime Minister Netanyahu, and their supporters. Begin with the Republican governor of Virginia, Robert McDonnell. He and his wife were indicted on federal

LOS ANGELES — The Weinstein Company said that it would file for bankruptcy following the collapse of sale talks with an investor group, extending the damage from sexual misconduct allegations against Harvey Weinstein, its co-owner and a onetime force in Hollywood. The beleaguered film and television studio said in a statement late Sunday that it had failed to reach a deal with a group led by Maria Contreras-Sweet, who ran the Small Business Administration under President Barack Obama. The group had offered to pay roughly $275 million for the Weinstein Company, plus the assumption of $225 million in debt. “While we recognize

“Fire and Fury” author Michael Wolff ended an interview on Australian TV after being asked about his now-retracted claim that President Donald Trump has had an affair in the White House. Wolff, who was interviewed from London for Australia’s morning talk show “Today,” walked off the set after claiming that he was unable to hear questions about his allegations that Trump is having an affair. But evidence emerged that the journalist was perfectly able to hear the questions, which were posed by host Ben Fordham. Footage from “Today’s” London studio showed that Fordham’s questions could be heard in Wolff’s earpiece.

Maybe Adam Schiff has more of a sense of humor than I’d have given him credit for. The House Intelligence Committee’s ranking Democrat begins his long-awaited memo — the minority response to the Nunes memo that was penned by staffers of the committee’s Republican majority — by slamming Chairman Devin Nunes’s unconscionable “risk of public exposure of sensitive sources and methods for no legitimate purpose.” The Schiff memo, which has been delayed for weeks because the FBI objected to its gratuitous effort to publicize highly classified intelligence, including methods and sources, then proceeds to tell

Special counsel Robert Mueller has indicted 13 Russian nationals and three Russian entities for allegedly meddling in the 2016 presidential election, charging them with conspiracy to defraud the United States, the Department of Justice has announced. In addition, three defendants were charged with conspiracy to commit wire fraud and bank fraud, and five defendants with aggravated identity theft. Mueller has been investigating Russian interference in the 2016 election as well as any connections between Russia and Trump campaign associates. Beginning as early as 2014, the Russian organization Internet Research Agency began operations to interfere with the US political system, including the 2016 elections,

Three North Texas high school students — one each at Marcus High in Flower Mound, Plano West and South Garland — were arrested Thursday after reportedly taking guns to their campuses a day after the deadly shooting in Florida. The Marcus High and South Garland students each face a charge of carrying a firearm in a prohibited place. The Plano West student also may face a felony charge. The weapons were not fired, and there were no injuries at the schools. Also Thursday, an Arlington junior high student was arrested after allegedly making threats to shoot the school, and a Weatherford teen was

President Trump’s legal team is citing a three-pillar argument to convince investigators, and the public, that President Trump shouldn’t sit down for an interview with special counsel Robert Mueller. Mr. Mueller wants access to the president as part of an inquiry into suspected obstruction of justice in the firing of the special counsel’s longtime friend, FBI Director James B. Comey, in May. The president’s legal team has resisted but not given a firm no. Here are the arguments against an interview. • The White House has given Mr. Mueller unprecedented access to White House documents and people. • There is no stated crime. •

The National Democratic Redistricting Committee (NDRC), a D.C.-based organization founded in 2016 that is chaired by Holder, is dedicated to "enacting a comprehensive, multi-cycle Democratic Party redistricting strategy." The group was formed in part due to Obama´s resentment towards the House Republican majority during a portion of his presidency and claims that gerrymandering, which both

The war on and over Robert Mueller just got very real. And Mueller has tools to fight with, too. The revelation, as reported by The New York Times, that President Donald Trump tried to fire the special counsel last summer puts new scrutiny on Mueller’s every move, from every conceivable direction. This is information that Mueller almost certainly had before last night. (Remember: Mueller’s team spoke to White House counsel Don McGahn, and has spoken to other White House officials in a position to know, at length.) This isn’t about hurting Mueller’s feelings, or even damaging his credibility. It’s also not about disproving

Mr. Manchin is a member of my favorite endangered species — conservative Democrats. Given the collapse of bipartisanship in Washington, he had been on the fence about whether to run. Just the other day, according to the New York Times, Mr. Manchin was grousing to Senator Schumer about the state of the Senate. “This place sucks,” is the way Mr. Manchin put it. After the Democrats blinked on the budget, though, the

Israel announced Thursday that school resource officer Scot Peterson had been suspended and decided to retire rather than be terminated after learning Peterson failed to enter the school during the massacre and engage the shooter.

"It has allowed me, for the very first time, the space to honestly reflect on the unexpected trajectory of my life. A top U.S. Olympic Committee official said Sunday that he would re-evaluate the organization´s winter sports program after American athletes won just 23 medals in Pyeongchang, below the committee´s minimum expectations. That haul -- nine gold medals, eight silver medals and six bronze medals -- is the lowest since the U.S. won 13 medals at the 1998 Winter Games in Nagano, Japan. The Associated Press, citing an internal USOC document, reported that the organization had set a target of 37 medals in Pyeongchang, with a minimum expectation of 25. Winning 37 medals would have matched the then-record number won by

Sen. Kamala Harris is increasingly positioning herself for a what is expected to be a crowded Democratic primary for the White House in 2020. The former California attorney general, who is just at the beginning of her second year in the Senate, is taking positions that could endear herself with the Democratic base while allowing her to stand out from a group of Democrats who might seek the progressive mantle. Harris voted against a Senate immigration bill backed by centrists from both parties earlier this month, waiting until the last minute to break with other liberals such as Sens. Bernie

Matt Drudge of the eponymous Drudge Report is always right. Remember that. Drudge has been keeping a close eye on former Virginia governor Terry McAuliffe, often linking to stories about the longtime Clinton crony´s aspirations for the White House. It is impossible to imagine circumstances under which Broward County sheriff Scott Israel could attempt to perform his duties with the confidence of the public. He should resign immediately, and if, as he promises, he refuses to go quietly, then he should be shown the door by the people he professes to serve.
