(Video) - An American service member was killed in combat in Afghanistan on New Year´s Day, the U.S. military said on Tuesday. Four other American service members were wounded in the same incident. The military said the combat happened in Achin in eastern Nangarhar province. Two of the wounded service members were in stable condition at a medical treatment facility. The other two service members have returned to duty. No other details were immediately provided. "We are deeply saddened by the loss of one of our own," said Gen. Sad way for our Military to start the New Year. This should be a reminder that they are always on the job around the world to keep US safe.

Every day during 8 years of GWB, we got a death count. During the 8 black years of Obama, apparently, no service members were killed. Now that Republican Trump is in the White House, service men are starting to die again. Fascinating!

After 16 years of training, retraining & equipping and reequipping the Afghan military, why are US troops fighting along side of the Afghan army? I realize that our military doesn´t shy away from confronting the Taliban, ISIS and other Afghan terror groups, but there has to be a better way than foot patrols through god forsaken land strewn with IEDs. And, if the 240,000 member Afghan army is reluctant to fight enemies that want to cruelly turn the country into 7th century Islamic hellhole, then perhaps we should consider withdrawing our 10,000 and increasing forces.

May the serviceman´s family know that their loved one died doing what he thought was necessary for his country and his unit.

Sad for every one of these deaths. Each one is a son, brother, uncle, father, cousin, or nephew to someone.

May God save his soul.

Rep. Mike Conaway, R-Texas, announced that the House Intelligence Committee´s interview phase of its investigation into collusion and Russian meddling in the 2016 presidential campaign has concluded. Conaway told reporters Monday, "We found no evidence that the Trump campaign or anyone associated with it colluded with the Russians." The Intelligence Committee did find, however, that Russia took active measures to meddle in the 2016 election, and that the majority expects it to undertake similar measures again. Now, Conaway said, the committee will move on to write its report, the first draft of which the GOP majority

Rep. Maxine Waters, who spent the better part of the inauguration season calling for the impeachment of President Donald Trump — before he even took over the White House seat, mind you — and the better part of Robert Mueller’s Russia investigation calling for the same, has found a new “let’s get ‘im, guys” cause to crow, and it’s named Stormy Daniels. Honestly, Waters is like a parrot with a vocabulary of one word. “This business about Stormy is not going to go away,” she said, during an interview with MSNBC. A porn star suing President Trump offered Monday to return $130,000 she was paid to keep mum about their alleged sexual affair so that she can talk about the relationship. Stormy Daniels, whose real name is Stephanie Clifford, offered to pay back the money in a letter to Mr. Trump’s personal lawyer Michael Cohen, seeking to settle her lawsuit to void a nondisclosure agreement. In the letter, Ms. Clifford’s lawyer Michael Avenatti said the money would be repaid by Friday and Mr. Trump had until noon Tuesday to accept the offer. “This has never been about the money,” Clifford’s lawyer, Michael Avenatti, told NBC News

Comedian Kathy Griffin is embarking on her comeback, some nine months after she provoked outrage — and lost much of her work — by posing with a fake severed head that appeared to depict President Donald Trump. Griffin announced on HBO’s “Real Time With Bill Maher” on Friday night that she had just booked upcoming shows at New York’s Carnegie Hall and at Washington’s Kennedy Center — “Trump’s backyard,” she called it. “I’m dipping my toes into touring again,” Griffin said, adding that the Republican president and his supporters would prefer she never worked again. The Metropolitan Opera fired James Levine on Monday evening, ending its association with a conductor who defined the company for more than four decades after an investigation found what the Met called credible evidence that Mr. Levine had engaged in “sexually abusive and harassing conduct.” The investigation, which the Met opened in December after a report in The New York Times, found evidence of abuse and harassment “both before and during the period” when Mr. Levine worked at the Met, the company said in a statement. The Met did not release the specific findings of its investigation, which it said had included

With the current in the East River between Manhattan and Queens running south at about three knots and the downed helicopter lashed to a tugboat, rescue divers on Sunday night had only one option. They told the tugboat captain to cut the propellers and resigned themselves to drifting with the current as they tried to cut five passengers out of the helicopter, their bodies underwater and cinched with harnesses heavy enough to let them lean over and snap photographs of the New York City skyline. By the time the divers plucked them out, it was too late. By the time the divers plucked them out, it was too late. The five passengers —

James Kallstrom is no joke. With nearly thirty years in the FBI, several of them as the Assistant Director, Kallstrom knows how the agency functions far more than most. So when he says there was a plot to protect Hillary Clinton from prosecution and to illegally influence the 2016 Election people should pay attention. Kallstrom goes on to call the entirety of the FBI investigation against Donald Trump completely phony. Maria Bartiromo’s own take appears very much to compliment Mr. Kallstrom’s assertions. The Deep State shenanigans run very deep and in 2016 are linked to the Obama White House. Barack Obama

President Trump says he didn´t collude with Russia in 2016, promising something to a foreign country in exchange for his installation as president. That seems increasingly likely to prove true. Where they do not spring from simple malignancy, critics’ arguments that Trump used Russian intervention to win the election are mostly an excuse to avoid the plain truth that Hillary Clinton deservedly lost because she was an awful candidate. And the country is better for that result. We aren’t persuaded, either, that the Russians’ paltry $100,000 in Facebook spending had anything to do with Trump’s win, given that very little of it
