FIRST ALERT: Any wobble in potential winter
weather system could change everything

WISTV [Columbia, SC], by Dominic Brown, Tim Miller, Von Gaskin

Original Article

Posted By:Attercliffe, 1/2/2018 6:41:34 AM

COLUMBIA, SC -Your First Alert Team is keeping a close eye on Wednesday´s forecast, as some parts of the Palmetto State could see a wintry mix of snow and sleet. We have called for an Alert Day for Wednesday for the potential for wintry weather to develop. There´s still a lot of uncertainty with this forecast. However, some of our forecast models are calling for an area of low pressure to develop off the southeast U.S. coast and get stronger. The low is expected to move northeast, spreading some moisture along the East Coast and possibly here in South Carolina, all

Comments:
Where the majority of Lowcountry residents never think about snow on THIS ground--or how to off wind chill. I can tell you this house (and many others here) will be wondering how to stop the drafts freezing up the older homes. Got to get up and work--the power just blew in the living area, circuit coildn´t take the heat. . .

would absolutely love a high of 34 right now. Our lows are between 10 and minus 10 with highs about 14 every day for the past two weeks. The 10 day forecast does not look any better except for the two day break mentioned in the article. We may get up to 25 one day.

Thanks Al.

We’re moving to the Charleston area on Saturday. Hope this is long gone by then! Right now it’s 9 degrees here in Virginia with temps as low as 3 degrees in the forecast.

That’s some global warming, right Algore?

Reminds me of the winters of 1977 and 1978. Bitter cold in Ohio River Valley, so cold that the Ohio River froze solid and some fools were driving across it. I ran a produce business and leafy vegetables would freeze in minutes if left outside. Not to be taken lightly.

There is a chance Trump might choose to keep the United States in the international pact under which Iran agreed to curb its nuclear program in return for sanctions relief, in part because of “alliance maintenance” with France and to save face for French President Emmanuel Macron, who met Trump last week and urged

Reading The New Yorker was like being in a place where good people relaxed and reasoned together. That was before. The reform movement fueled by political centrists is getting stronger all over the country, but it needs a heavyweight 2020 Independent presidential candidate to gain national traction and big-time financial backing. Ohio Gov. John Kasich ought to take up that challenge. He can’t get the nomination of his own party. Although he’s a lifelong Republican who won statewide in a key battleground state the GOP needs to win the presidency, he’s become much too moderate, not to mention high-principled and independent, for the party.
