DOJ Blows Past Deadline to Turn Over

House Intelligence Committee Chairman Devin Nunes is blasting the Department of Justice and FBI after officials ignored congressional subpoenas and blew threw a deadline to turn over documents related to the infamous Fusion GPS dossier. In a letter to Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein, Nunes points out that not only did DOJ mislead his Committee about the existense of documents, they also unlawfully failed to comply with congressional requests. "Several weeks ago, DOJ informed the Committee that the basic investigatory documents demanded by the subpoenas, FBI Form FD-302 interview summaries, did not exist. However, shortly before my meeting with you in early

Is Alleged Attorney General Sessions aware that he´s the head of the DOJ and needs to clean out his septic tank of an organization or has he just completely recused himself of everything except his paycheck?

I´m at the point I want Trump to have them arrested, investigated, and shoot the wrong doers for treason.

There´s gotta be someone in DOJ, FBI, or CIA that aren´t partisan hacks.

If not, martial law, clean em out and start over. Enough, already.

Congress has virtually no power to prosecute. They are an investigative body If-----? someone agrees to be investigated.

It´s time to indict and seat a plethora of grand juries. We have new judges and there are plenty of attorneys that would jump at the chance to prosecute!

I realize that 2017 was a long time ago, but I can still recall a fellow named Sessions taking an oath to enforce the laws of the federal government. Perhaps that was for his job as AG or possibly as head of ICE or the National Park Service. It was so long ago that I can´t remember who is Attorney General in the Trump Administration.

If readers can recall who, if anyone, replaced the stunningly partisan and corrupt Loretta Lynch as AG, please drop a note.

Has DC declared itself to be a Sanctuary City where crooked politicians go to commit high crimes and acts of treason? Certainly appears that way to the average American living under the thumb of a government so corrupted it cannot police itself. The natives out in the hinderlands are getting restless when they see no one held accountable for the criminality that is running rampant among the pampered political class. Please explain to us why we should continue to pay taxes to enable the corrupt to live the high life and enjoy fine pensions and health care. Our patience is being stretched to the breaking point.

It´s very dangerous to lay down a Red Line. If you´re going to do it, you better have a plan B for that Line being ignored or you look like a Fool! Nunes sent these subpoenas out in August. Jeesh! Here we are in January and NOW he wants them to set up dates for Interviews. How about giving them 24 hours! Submit those documents or you will be picked up and taken to JAIL until you produce them! Right now they´re making a Laughing Stock of Nunes! Nobody is afraid of him! He needs to do SOMETHING to prove he means business!!

I still for the life of me wonder why Sessions is not making Rosenstein give up the documents. Congress has the legal right to have them. Sessions doesnt have to be involved but he certainly has the obligation to force Rosenstein to follow the law!

Perhaps the rest of you were way ahead of me in reaching this conclusion but I think blackmail is at the root of much that otherwise doesn´t make sense. It seems that every glimmer of hope is extinguished from Chaffetz to Gowdy. Why does an entity such as Fusion GPS exist? How many such firms exist? And we also now know that if nothing of substance exists in an opponent´s background that´s a minor issue, something will be made up, paying for false accusations, false dossiers, you name it.

I have been wondering for ages-- and I would have thought basic journalism 101 would require newspeople to include this info in any story dealing with contempt of Congress--what the penalty is for such a designation. It appears that the maximum penalty is $1000 and 1 year in jail. Not much, but it´s a start-- when will Eric Holder be paying his fine and serving his sentence ?

#21- Quite likely many others share the suspicion of blackmail—blackmail using leverages such as threats of disclosing personal and/or family skeletons in the closet, and/or threats of future harm to anyone (including family members) daring to expose and/or adjudicate criminal charges. While holding office, there may be government protective services; however, upon departure, such protection may become an individual’s personal responsibility. President Trump is to be admired/respected for many reasons, not the least of which is his courage in exposing/standing up to criminal activity within the government. May God send His holy angels to surround/protect him and his family.

Since Congress is all kabuki theater, I think there are other reasons for not meeting these deadlines: 1) It wouldn´t amount to a hill of beans even if they DID, and 2) doing so would allow someone in Congress to alert the wrongdoers so they can CYA or fly the coop.

In other words, I think justice is coming from somewhere besides Congress, so why give Congress/the enemy the ammunition to fight back?

And I´m not on the bash-Sessions train for a number of reasons. Although Trump has expressed some disappointment with Sessions, what he has said is ambiguous. He´s never come out and said he wanted him gone. That leads me to look at Trump´s actions. His ACTIONS indicate that Sessions is doing exactly what Trump wants. Otherwise, Trump would have fired him (and all arguments saying he couldn´t are ridiculous, in my opinion).

And lastly, this is an all out war and the stakes for Trump are WAAAY to high for Trump to be dilly-dallying around with an unreliable Attorney General. You DO NOT leave an enemy in such an important position when yours and your family´s lives are at stake!!

Can special counsel Robert Mueller require President Trump to testify before a grand jury? It would be unprecedented, and his effort to do so could lead to a major constitutional confrontation. The president could, of course, resist a grand jury subpoena by asserting his right under the Fifth Amendment not to be a witness against himself. However, for political reasons, he may not wish to do that. And he may not need to. Another off-ramp for the president, which he may choose not to take, is to remove the special counsel. Former Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton told graduating students at Yale University on Sunday she was still grappling with the results of the 2016 election. "No, I’m not over it, I still think about the 2016 election, I still regret the mistakes I made,” Clinton said during an address as part of Yale University’s Class Day. “Today, as a person, I’m Okay. As an American, I’m concerned." “This is a moment to reach across divides of race, class, and politics to try to see the world through the eyes of people very different from ourselves and to return to rational

After about thirteen years of being a loyal customer of Netflix, the time has come for me to say goodbye. (Snip) Given that I’m a conservative, one might be inclined to believe my choice to leave Netflix is predicated upon the company’s most recent decision to partner with Barack and Michelle Obama’s new company, called “Higher Ground Productions,” to produce loads of new content. And in a way, I guess that’s correct. But this choice by Netflix has not alone led me to this decision. Rather, this was the straw that finally broke the camel’s back -- the latest in a series of indicators that the network has become little more than a

Pope Francis has reportedly told a gay man that "God made you that way and loves you as you are," apparently pushing the pontiff´s acceptance of homosexuality to a new level. Francis made the comments to Juan Carlos Cruz, a Chilean victim of priestly sexual abuse who recently spent days with the pope at the Vatican to discuss his ordeal as the pontiff moves to tackle decades of coverups and ostracism of victims in the Chilean church, according to the Spanish newspaper El Pais. Cruz was quoted as having discussed his homosexuality with Francis. "He told me: ´Juan Carlos, I

At the end of all the scandal and drama, all of the breathlessly reported lies and false accusations, at the end of all the money wasted on some zany kabuki swamp dance choreographed to the thrumming of giant bullfrogs and yipping of excited coyotes — at the end of all of this — it comes down to precisely what we said it was a year and a half ago. The Obama administration — with or without the knowledge and direction of President Obama himself — perverted one of the most powerful, clandestine spying operations in the world and used it at the very height of a presidential campaign to spy on political opponents,

Former Secretary of State John Kerry warned President Donald Trump Sunday that Democrats are not afraid to go against his “America First” policies. “We won’t win, any of us, ultimately, by retreating within our borders, by focusing on our own nations only, or by going it alone,” Kerry told those gathered at New York University’s Abu Dhabi’s commencement ceremony Sunday — a direct reference to the president’s “America First” trade and immigration policies. Kerry served as the secretary of state for former President Barack Obama. He also, notably, was one of the key negotiators for the administration when it was

A New Jersey high school is under fire after it released prom tickets that encouraged students to ´party like it´s 1776´. Cherry Hill High School East designed the prom tickets to commemorate that the dance was being held at the National Constitution Center in Philadelphia. But the ´insensitive´ language offended members of the student body, prompting an immediate apology from principal Dennis Perry. ´I am writing to apologize for the hurt feelings this reference caused for members of our school family,´ Perry wrote in a letter posted to Twitter on Friday. (Snip) ´I especially apologize to our African American students, who I have

Former Attorney General Eric Holder on Monday urged Department of Justice (DOJ) and FBI officials to "simply say no" to President Trump´s demand for an expanded investigation into his claims of FBI wrongdoing as it relates to his campaign. "More DOJ norms being eroded. Trump-a SUBJECT of the investigation-wants access to material related to the inquiry," Holder tweeted. (Snip) His latest criticism of the president came as Trump and his allies have claimed, without evidence, that an FBI informant spied on his campaign for political purposes. On Sunday, Trump said he would demand the DOJ investigate the matter.

Sen. Elizabeth Warren, the Native American* Democrat from Massachusetts, has boldly pledged to refuse to accept donations from the National Rifle Association. Which really does not change anything because, according to OpenSecrets.org, the NRA has never donated to Sen. Warren in the first place. Still, Sen. Warren is being praised for this decision announced via NowthisNews.com in which she proudly proclaims, "It´s time we strip the NRA of its stranglehold over our children´s lives." She is technically the first Senator to refuse to accept NRA money.

California is poised to become the first state in the nation to offer full health coverage to undocumented adults even as the Trump administration intensifies its crackdown by separating families at the border. (Snip) But at a time when Trump is already attempting to re-energize state Republican voters — he met with California conservatives at the White House last week to strategize against the state’s sanctuary policies — the initiative might be risky. For starters, it will be costly: The annual price tag to expand Medicaid benefits to poor adult immigrants without legal status is projected at $3 billion annually.
