Pakistan has summoned the U.S. ambassador in protest against President Trump´s angry tweet about the country´s ´lies and deceit´. David Hale was summoned by the Pakistan foreign office on Monday to explain Trump´s tweet, media said. A spokesperson for the US Embassy in Islamabad confirmed the meeting took place. Meanwhile Foreign Minister Khawaja Asif dismissed the outburst as a political stunt. In a withering attack first thing on Monday morning, Trump said the United States has ´foolishly´ handed Pakistan more than $33billion in aid in the last 15 years and had been rewarded with ´nothing but lies and deceit´. ´They
Pakistan is getting pretty bold. First "Demand" an explanation from the U.S. ambassador. Then the PM of Pakistan said that Trump´s tweet was a "political stunt". When the the money begins to stop we will see if he thinks it´s a political stunt.
Compare to Daily Mail article 3 May 2011: "Relations between Pakistan and the West were under intense strain amid disbelief that intelligence chiefs in Islamabad had no idea bin Laden was living in a compound just 800 yards from the country’s military academy." http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1382649/Osama-bin-Laden-dead-Photo-Obama-watching-special-forces-shoot-him.html#ixzz531j6d4gG
Much of foreign aid (when you read the list in 2014 $$- total then about 43 billion)https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_foreign_aid) is issued by rote- habit, and it is a bad habit. Some of the countries on the list get aid in spite of having absolutely no obvious strategic significance to the US at all. In some cases, the aid is issued as a small leverage in case Americans get into trouble, the US can have some input about their cases. But, clearly, the aid is not at all cost effective spending millions per case and many are insignificant- Other cases revolve around extradition treaties, other around drug interdiction and UN treaties on environment and ocean fishing enforcement. The Liberal Administrations of our past, from carter onward, involved pay-offs to petty dictators, many of whom are now dead, in order to get their support in votes on environmental issues at the UN- Yes, bribe money that continues to this day and no one in either country even knows why the US is paying it now. Likely the 2017 dollars are much higher. Obama tossed "foreign aid" around as adoration money (like old kings tossing coins before them to the adoring crowds even though everyone knew they were human monsters.) That "aid" still continues.
Pakistani leader cannot appear to buckle to US pressures in public, their people are NOT against the Taliban and jihadis, al Qaeda and Taliban have a lot of power inside that country. We may be able to get some real assistance behind the scenes from time to time, but anyone imagining that they will somehow be suddenly fully on our side, fully cooperating should set out their Easter basket and put a tooth under their pillows. The Easter Bunny and Tooth Fairy will be riding in on a Pakistani unicorn at the same time they fully cooperate.
If they cooperate too much, the leaders will very likely be assassinated, like Benazir Bhutto and her brother. Tightrope for them.
Ultimately, keeping their nukes from falling into jihadi hands is the most important part of the Pakistani puzzle. Getting serious cooperation on Afghanistan is a goal, but has to be secondary to nuke security.
We must also keep in mind that we have substantial forces in adjoining land locked Afghanistan which depend on ground supply of stuff like fuel being trucked in from Pakistan. Also how about the doctor who has been jailed in Pakistan for aiding our efforts to get Ben Laden? Obama tossed him to the wolves too.
The Pakistani leadership knows a lot more about their nefarious activities in support of Islamist terrorists then the US Ambassador can ever tell them. Obviously the Pakistanis want to know what the US Ambassador knows.
Correct answer to this demand, "Ummm, we did find Osama Bin Laden living essentially next door to your military academy, where you train the best and brightest of your next generation of military leaders. Are you trying to say no one in your government noticed who was living there? Then after that, you imprisoned the guy who told us that he was there. That suggests that you were more unhappy that we found out Osama was there than that he was there. I think perhaps you need to explain more than we do."

AN in-depth study into the impact of Brexit has revealed that even the most basic trade deal with the EU would see the £35billion divorce bill look "like a bargain". The UK struck a "bargain" when they agreed to the £35billion divorce bill with the EU - as the economic boom after Brexit will see "the bill pay for itself". According to top-level Bloomberg economists, even the most basic free trade deal with the EU would bring in over £40billion in just three years. Brexit Secretary David Davis has been pursuing a "Canada-plus-plus-plus" deal, which would see Britain replicate the Canada-style

ANOTHER nail in the coffin of Project Fear. It is becoming increasingly clear that the constituent countries of the EU as well as the bloc itself are exceedingly keen to strike a trade deal: the Prime Minister will today hail the most wide-ranging agreement in Anglo-French history. And significantly, while it does not specifically cover Brexit, it does mention a comprehensive agenda, covering everything from space exploration to the Bayeux Tapestry. This is proof, if it were needed, that Brexit is no bar to continuing good relations with our EU counterparts, to say nothing of the fact that we have a
A Republican senator disputed on Thursday that Donald Trump is a racist, following reports about the president describing majority-black countries as ´s***holes´ amid tense immigration negotiations. Trump is ´absolutely not´ driven by racial animus, South Carolina Sen. Lindsey Graham said on CNN, after flatly asking an interviewer to pose the question. And as the West Wing decided this week how flexible to be on immigration issues, he claimed, he got bad advice from the people around him. The ´s***hole´ snipe, which Democratic Sen. Dick Durbin claimed was directed at Haiti and African nations, shouldn´t be taken as evidence of racial prejudice, Graham explained. ´You
ISIS has released a new propaganda video depicting a full-scale invasion of Washington DC. The five-minute movie, released on social media by pro-ISIS group Abd al Faqir Media, shows an army of terrorists surging through the city streets while ISIS jets race through the skies above. It starts with an edited scene taken from Hollywood blockbuster London Has Fallen showing a jihadi blowing up a bridge while crossing in a van packed with explosives as cars fall into the river below. The video then takes the viewer through the stages of invasion, showing the Mujahideen arriving on the outskirts of the city
A fresh inquest into the death of Stuart Lubbock, found dead at the home of entertainer Michael Barrymore in 2001, has been blocked by the Attorney General. White House Chief of Staff John Kelly acknowledged Wednesday that President Donald Trump has ´changed´ his position on major campaign pledges like the border wall that was supposed to stretch from sea to shining sea. At a meeting on Wednesday with the Congressional Hispanic Caucus on Capitol Hill Kelly reportedly said that some of Trump´s views were ´uninformed´ and and admitted that Mexico will not pay for a border structure. ´As we talked about things, where this president is and how much he wants to deal with this DACA issue and take it away,´ Kelly told Fox News later, ´I told them

President Trump spends a chunk of each day on the phone, whether it´s a White House landline or ´Trump One´ or ´Trump Two,´ the nicknames his aides have given to his two cell phones. CNN divulged more details about Trump´s habits during so-called ´executive time,´ a term used on the president´s schedule to indicate he´s doing work, but often from the Yellow Oval room, located in the residence. Axios first reported that ´executive time´ was taking up more and more of Trump´s ´shrinking´ schedule, suggesting it was time spent on Twitter and watching TV, and not in the Oval Office being productive.
A review of a classified document outlining what is described as extensive Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act abuse was made available to all House members Thursday and the revelations could lead to the removal of senior officials in the FBI and Department of Justice, several sources with knowledge of the document stated. These sources say the report is “explosive,” stating they would not be surprised if it leads to the end of Robert Mueller’s Special Counsel investigation into President Trump and his associates. The House Intelligence Committee passed the motion along party lines Thursday to make the classified report alleging extensive
After leaving office, President Ronald Reagan created the Ronald Reagan Freedom Award to recognize individuals who have fought to spread liberty worldwide. Nancy Reagan continued the tradition after her husband’s death, and in 2008 she bestowed the honor on human rights icon Natan Sharansky, who credited Reagan’s strong defense of freedom for his own survival in Soviet gulags. Reagan recognized that as leader of the free world, his words carried enormous weight, and he used it to inspire the unprecedented spread of democracy around the world. President Donald Trump does not seem to understand that his rhetoric and actions reverberate in
Pope Francis has conferred the title of “Commander of the Pontifical Equestrian Order of St. Gregory the Great” on Lilianne Ploumen, a Dutch politician and vocal agitator for abortion rights. In an email to the Catholic Herald, Ms. Ploumen said that she was “very honoured” by the pontifical medal, which was sent via the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs last month. In an interview with Dutch radio, Ploumen said she views the honor as a
Obama’s current office, which is run by former de facto President Valerie Jarrett, is just a mile or so from the White House. It is at that location one sees a daily procession of donors, political operatives, party affiliates (BOTH Democrat and Republican) media friends (of which there are many) and more shadowy figures representing a myriad of foreign interests. And each day this office and its two primary inhabitants – Obama and Jarrett, are asked the same question: WHAT ARE WE GOING TO DO ABOUT TRUMP? Obama being Obama, with his solar-system-sized ego intact, has been promising to do
The House Intel panel’s passage of New York Republican Rep. Peter King’s motion to release the FISA abuse memo to fellow House members has rocked Washington, D.C. (Photo) Lawmakers from Rep. California lawmakers are targeting the expected windfall companies in the state would see under the federal tax overhaul with a bill that would require businesses to turn over half to the state. A proposed Assembly Constitutional Amendment by Assemblymen Kevin McCarty, D -Sacramento and Phil Ting, D-San Francisco, would create a tax surcharge on California companies making more than $1 million so that half of their federal tax cut would instead go to programs that benefit low-income and middle class families.

During his town hall tour across Canada, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has given explicit notice to pro-life Canadians that their beliefs on abortion make them second-class citizens. (Snip) According to the article, Trudeau warned that "an organization that has the explicit purpose of restricting women´s rights by removing rights to abortion, the right for women to control their own bodies, is not in line with where we are as a government and quite frankly where we are as a society." According to Trudeau, his tongue-lashing of pro-life groups was prompted by responses to a change to who can receive grants as
Far from content living his golden years on the $400,000 speech and lecture circuit of other former presidents, President Obama has been busy with clawing back for his old power. He´s actually covertly plotting to oust his democratically elected successor, President Trump, vowing to his associates to "rip him a new one," in the 2018 midterm elections. Seems he´s not all that interested in watching his youngest daughter grow up. That´s the word from DCWhispers, which reports that Obama´s Kalorama mansion, in the heart of the capital´s most tony district, is the center of significant comings and goings among the Obamatons,
Microwaves are as damaging to the environment as cars and users must be taught how to cook more efficiently, scientists say. The ovens are responsible for 7.7 million tons of the carbon dioxide pumped out from the EU each year — the equivalent of 6.8 million cars. Researchers say they are fueling global warming with consumers overcooking food to blame. Microwaves account for the largest percentage of sales of all types of oven in the EU, with numbers set to reach 135 million by 2020. But scientists at the University of Manchester — the first to assess the environmental impact
Sara Carter reports on a classified document that was released to all members of the House today. The document seems to be a compilation of information, prepared by House intelligence committee staff, relating to the anti-Trump dossier, the FBI, the warrant to conduct surveillance on members of the Trump campaign, and the use of that warrant. Carter calls the document a bombshell. Her sources say its revelations might lead to the removal of senior officials in the FBI and Department of Justice, and perhaps even the criminal prosecution of some. They also say, less plausibly, that the revelations could lead to
In an exclusive interview with Utah Gov. Gary Herbert, FOX Business was told that Romney, the 2012 Republican presidential nominee, will likely receive the backing of mega-donors, not just within Utah, but across the country as he gets ready to announce his candidacy. “He’s given me every indication that he’s running. He’ll have a lot of support from the wealthy people that he knows from when he ran for president. The people on the same list of donors that he had before for 2012, including those from Utah, is a very good place for him to raise money,” Herbert, a
