Baltimore breaks city record
for homicides per capita

BALTIMORE — Baltimore has set a new per-capita homicide record as gunmen killed for drugs, cash, payback – or no apparent reason at all. A surge of homicides in the starkly divided city resulted in 343 killings in 2017, bringing the annual homicide rate to its highest ever – roughly 56 killings per 100,000 people. Baltimore, which has shrunk over decades, currently has about 615,000 inhabitants. “Not only is it disheartening, it’s painful,” Mayor Catherine Pugh told The Associated Press during the final days of 2017, her first year in office. The main reasons are the subject of endless interpretation. Some attribute the

These people crack me up. They attack, ambush and kill cops then complain there´s not enough around. You can´t have a cop every 5 ft. as large as Balto. is.How would more cops stop drive by shootings at 2 am.?Then to cops have to worry abut lawsuits if they´re too rough on a prisoner. The real problem is their uncivil subculture.

These murderers start out as feral gangs of "youths" who terrorize the locals with impunity. The Democrat politicians do not have the guts to do what it takes to punish bad behavior by these feral teens but complain when they turn into murderous thugs.

Race baiters run that city- they accommodate the black thug society- they "shirted" their police force- (might as well hang a shirt with a badge on it as have a real cop on patrol), and then whine because they don´t have cops enforcing the law. Man! Only in Libtard land would this be a thing.

56 murders per 100,000.

That is world class, in a horrific way. The whole country runs about 4.5 per 100,000, even with these black inner city hellholes like Chicago and Baltimore averaged in. I imagine if you excluded these black gang infested urban free fire zones, the white Normals would have a murder rate of around 1 or 2 per 100,000.

Stay safe, be armed and stay out of Chicago and Baltimore.

We really need concealed carry reciprocity to get CCW legalized in those last few remaining states where we cannot go armed. California, NJ, NY, Conn, Mass, RI, MD, Illinois and a few more make it essentially impossible for out of state (and for some, even in-state) to be legally armed. This needs to end. Only the honest citizens are disarmed by gun laws, all the criminals are still armed - witness the results.

Personally, I will not set foot in any of these states and cities as long as they don´t allow honest citizens to be armed but don´t seem too concerned that the drug dealers and gangstas have all the firepower they want.

This Baltimore fiasco is a direct result of that naive mayor and the attorney who spoke out against the police and supported the feral blacks during the riots. As a Baltimore police officer, I too would just sit in the patrol car and let the animals kill each other.

Let me say upfront that I liked The Shape of Water. But I don’t think it was a great movie that will be remembered as a great movie. Still, in many respects, it was the perfect movie to win Best Picture at last night’s Oscars. On a recent edition of the GLoP podcast (special, in part because Rob Long was replaced by Kyle Smith and Ross Douthat and in part because Rob’s absence let us geek out on Black Panther and other subjects), John Podhoretz made an interesting point: One reason the ratings for the Oscars are down is that few Americans

Over the past year, facts have emerged that suggest there was a plot by high-ranking FBI and Department of Justice (DOJ) officials in the Obama administration, acting under color of law, to exonerate Hillary Clinton of federal crimes and then, if she lost the election, to frame Donald Trump and his campaign for colluding with Russia to steal the presidency. This conduct was not based on mere bias, as has been widely claimed, but rather on deeply felt animus toward Trump and his agenda. In the course of this plot, FBI Director James Comey, U.S. Attorney General Loretta Lynch, FBI Deputy

I was thrilled September 5th 2017 when President Trump announced, through Attorney General Jeff Sessions, the end of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program. Even though illegal aliens and the enabling political class assembled in front of the Edward Roybal Federal Building to denounce this decision. The building name is telling. That Roybal moniker has controlled East Los Angeles-LA County politics for decades. Daddy Roybal passed on his House seat to daughter Lucille, and she still pushes mass immigration at the expense of American citizens. That legacy is coming to an end. The American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME) is ostensibly a public worker union. In truth, it is nothing more than an appendage of the Democratic Party. One hundred percent of its political contributions go to Democrats, and it works tirelessly to increase government spending and stop Republicans who want to reform state government. Should AFSCME be able to force public workers who disagree with its liberal agenda to pay union dues and support it? That was the question before the Supreme Court this week, when justices heard oral arguments in Janus v. AFSCME, a case brought by Illinois

According to the Washington Post: Trump is now a president in transition, at times angry and increasingly isolated. He fumes in private that just about every time he looks up at a television screen, the cable news headlines are trumpeting yet another scandal. He voices frustration that son-in-law Jared Kushner has few on-air defenders. He revives old grudges. And he confides to friends that he is uncertain about whom to trust. Here’s a hint: Don’t trust the people who are leaking this kind of information to the press. Trump’s devil-may-care attitude toward an economically destructive act is unnerving and adds insult to what will be serious economic injury. Trump’s tweet wasn’t just wrong; it was idiotic. He described a transformed neighborhood, with visitors checking out a restaurant or an art studio across Stony Island Avenue from the center. Yet Obama also revealed his pragmatic side, promising the center would supercharge areas hit by decades of disinvestment, while acknowledging fears that such growth will force out low-income residents. “You can’t have one without the other,” he said. Remember when companies tried to stay out of politics? I’d imagine Delta Air Lines is recalling those days very fondly. The airline bowed to pressure from liberal activists to stop offering a group discount to the National Rifle Association’s annual convention. Now it’s facing a backlash from Georgia Republicans. Given that Delta’s headquarters and biggest hub are in Atlanta, that’s a big problem. Delta is wanly protesting that it wasn’t trying to make a political statement but to keep out of politics altogether. But it ended the discount in response to a political pressure campaign.
