And immediately after receiving the first 911 call, before dispatching emergency units to the scene, the police issued a statement which said, "This has nothing to do with terrorists, or Muslims, or blacks."

One must assume that the reason the Daily Express [UK] didn´t supply any real information in the article is because they don´t HAVE any actual information about the event.

Bolton as U.S. security adviser
´shameful´: Iran official

DUBAI - A senior Iranian official said on Sunday it was “shameful” that U.S. President Donald Trump had named John Bolton as national security adviser because of his ties with rebels whom Iran sees as “terrorists”, the state news agency IRNA reported. Commentators said last week when Bolton was named that it signaled a toughening of Washington’s stance on Tehran and another nail in the coffin of the Obama-era agreement between Iran and world powers to limit Tehran’s nuclear ambitions, already cast into doubt by Trump himself. “For a seemingly superpower country, it is shameful that its national security official

Trump’s $1.3million federal spending bill signed Friday has made it illegal for restaurant employers to skim tips. The 2,232-page bill included a section that bans employers from taking a cut of their employees´ tip money, allowing workers to keep the extra cash for themselves. The victory for restaurant servers followers a Department of Labor proposal last year that authorized restaurants to pocket a portion of tip money given to employees, as long as workers received the full federal minimum wage of $7.25 an hour. Workers’ rights groups protested that proposal, saying it would lower the pay of restaurant servers across the nation. The

AT LEAST one person has been killed after Yemen launched a missile attack on Saudi Arabia’s capital city Riyadh, according to a military spokesman. Saudi Arabian authorities say one person has been killed and two other wounded in a ballistic missile attack on the kingdom’s capital by Yemeni Shiite rebels known as Houthis. The death was reported early Monday by the state-run Saudi Press Agency. Saudi Arabia’s military said seven missiles were fired late Sunday. The ballistic missiles were fired from Yemen, all of them were intercepted, but one intercepter failed and the missile fell in the area. Videos on

A 6.6 magnitude earthquake rumbled through Darwin on Monday morning after hitting the Banda Sea in Indonesia. The earthquake hit at 5.44am, and the Bureau of Meteorology has dismissed any chance of a tsunami hitting Australia as a result. One woman said on Twitter she and her children were woken from their sleep, and her bed was ´shaking´ as a result. Another claimed the quake woke her up and ´almost threw me out of bed´. The earthquake comes less than two weeks after Cyclone Marcus hit, leaving 30,000 homes without power. More to come.

Well, I chickened out, did not have the stomach to read an op-ed in The New York Times that ran with the headline -- “Israel’s self-inflicted wounds.” Mahmoud Abbas – right? Brother, was I wrong. This piece of blather, which blames Israel for near everything and insists on a “two-state-solution,” properly censured by Glick and Klein and Sherman, was written by -- Ronald Lauder. THE Italian military has launched a manhunt for a suspected Islamist terrorist over fears he could launch a horrific attack on tourists in Rome. Counter-terror officials are hunting for Mathlouthi Atef, 42, after he was flagged up as a "possible bomber", according to local media. A mugshot of the Tunisian suspect has been circulated over fears he could strike bars, train stations and shopping centres in Rome. The alert came after the Italian embassy in Tunisia´s capital, Tunis, received an anonymous letter claiming a man was "ready to attack the centre of Rome". Former Vice President Joe Biden has walked back his remarks about beating up President Donald Trump if they were in high school together. ´I shouldn´t have said what I said,´ Biden said in a Friday interview with the Pod Save America podcast, which is hosted by several former Obama administration officials. ´I shouldn´t have brought it up again, because I don´t want to get down in the mosh pit with this guy,´ Biden continued. The nation turned its eyes on Donald Trump for his make-or-break speech at the GOP Convention and those who wanted him to succeed got what they wanted. Trump delivered. Those who wanted him to fail began the carping even before he uttered a single word. They call it fact-checking. Some call it nitpicking. Trump delivered the goods for nearly every segment of American society, and true Zionists who wanted a good word about Israel got it when he named Israel as “our greatest ally in the region.” This drew sustained applause from the packed house. Among Democrats, meaning Liberals, such talk usually

President Donald Trump took a longer route than usual to get back to his Palm Beach, Florida resort after spending the afternoon golfing and ignoring the hundreds of marches taking place across the globe to end gun violence. Earlier on Saturday, the president´s motorcade was seen heading towards his International Golf Club in West Palm Beach but in the afternoon the motorcade took another, less-direct route back to his weekend home at Mar-a-Lago. The sudden route change came as more than 2,000 teens and adults protested in Palm Beach. According to the Sun Sentinel, the marchers gathered at Dreher Park Saturday afternoon

U.S. Sen. Tim Scott stood atop the deck of the massive gray warship docked in Charleston Harbor on Saturday morning and asked members of the crowd to transport themselves back to 1968 — a time of social strife amid the civil rights movement. Out of that period and out of Charleston, a city with its own history of racial issues, comes a singular story: that of Pfc. Ralph Johnson, a Marine who was killed in Vietnam after jumping on a grenade that landed in his fighting hole, Scott said. His actions cost him his life but saved two fellow Marines and

Almost 50 years after they served together in Vietnam, Clebe McClary can still see Ralph Johnson´s face. As of late, McClary said it is all he can see. He sees Ralph laughing. "He had a great smile." He sees Ralph running to take the point position on their patrols. "He worked hard — never braggadocious." And he can still see Ralph popping into his bunker at night, asking McClary to read him just one more ghost story. It reminded him of home. I, too, wish that President Trump had vetoed that spending that bill that put smiles on the faces of Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer, and permitted them to gloat openly. The only reason for his cave-in that I find credible is what he said: that the huge spending increase for our now-depleted military cannot wait. Our airplanes and helicopters are falling from the skies and roughly half of some aircraft models are not airworthy; some of them suffering cannibalization of their parts to keep the rest flying. LOS ANGELES– The Los Angeles City Council Friday is considering a motion that would enact a plan to provide housing for every transient in the city, as it continues to grapple with a housing shortage which has spiked rents and sent thousands of people into homelessness. The motion, introduced last month by Councilmen Mike Bonin and Marqueece Harris-Dawson, says there is little evidence that anything is being done to create or improve shelters for the homeless in the city and that a true sense of emergency is needed to deal with the problem. President Donald Trump’s choice of John Bolton as his new national security adviser — and his ongoing escalation of trade hostilities and reshuffling of his legal team — have all been widely interpreted as evidence that Trump is finally governing and conducting himself as he wanted to all along. He’s tired of advisers who are steering him away from his true agenda and persona, goes this narrative; instead, he’s finally getting back to the basics that make Trump who he really is. But this framing is built on a distortion that underplays just how dangerous Trump’s evolution really threatens to become.

No film genre is more quintessential to the American soul than the Western. The virtues Westerns champion—courage, moral clarity, self-reliance, individualism—are American virtues; their vices—excessive or hokey moral simplicity, caricatures of the enemy—are American too. Westerns are so synonymous with the legend that is America that it’s little wonder that from their heyday in the 1950s until today, they’ve played a key role in shaping our perception of ourselves, as well as the world’s opinion of us. The white-hatted cowboy standing firm against long odds is iconic, and not only within our borders. Western imagery has had such a powerful impact
