Quiet jockeying for McCain
seat angers Republicans

The Hill, by Reid Wilson

Original Article

PHOENIX — Ambitious Republicans anxious for a shot at a U.S. Senate seat have begun quietly jockeying to be appointed as the successor to Sen. John McCain (R), even as he battles an aggressive form of brain cancer. The lobbying campaigns, described to The Hill by half a dozen GOP strategists and aides, have angered many Republicans, who see any public chatter as disrespectful to a senator who has helped shape modern Arizona. Chief among those upset is the man who would make an appointment, Gov. Doug Ducey (R), who issued a brushback pitch during a radio appearance last week.

Comments:
This wouldn´t have happened if McCain had resigned immediately. He might have even been able to recommend his replacement. Because of his selfishness, it will drag on until he´s gone.

Republicans need every Vote they can find now. If McCain cares anything about his Party, he will resign when he is no longer able to be in Washington to VOTE!

I hope he holds out long enough until the voters can select their own senator. There is something untoward about one of the 100 votes in the senate being appointed.
This is used for manipulation of voters so often. A congressman will resign ahead of time in order to pick their own replacement and give them a huge advantage as incumbent.

Every article now appearing in discussing any 2018 election race includes the narrative that Democrats have the advantage. Sounds like fake polling again. Why is this garbage accepted wholesale by every media outlet? Same old, same old. MAGA.

McConnell will make sure a democrat will win, rather than a common sense conservative who will not vote for McConnell to remain the majority leader. Screw the country, its all about McConnell and his progressive ´values´ which undermine our constitution and our republic.

Unless of course you agree with him and prefer big govt, centralized power over individual liberty, like most of his democrat friends.

For those Republicans that are angered by the jockeying for McCain´s seat, I say TS. Their anger should be focused on the arrogance of McCain and his smallness for not resigning when he was diagnosed with brain cancer. It is McCain´s pathetic actions of hanging on that is the problem, not the jockeying for his seat.

In nine days in early December, eight young people died of overdoses in Fairfax County, Va., the second-richest of the 3,007 counties in the United States. Mass events like these happen frequently and in all sorts of places. A half-dozen people died in the small Rhode Island town of Burrillville in the first weeks of 2015. Twenty-eight people overdosed in a single afternoon in Huntington, West Virginia, in 2016, though all but two survived. The media had declared victory no matter the outcome, hoping for a Jones win but also salivating over the prospect of using Moore as the poster boy of the GOP for the next year. “It was a win-win,” they kept saying. But when Jones did finally win, that line was quickly abandoned and the rejoicing began. Strangely, it took a long time for MSNBC to call the race for Jones. Fox had called it much earlier.
