White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders trolled April Ryan with a homemade pecan pie on Wednesday evening and it was glorious. (Photos) The Gateway Pundit’s Kristinn Taylor previously reported, April Ryan, White House reporter for American Urban Radio networks and CNN analyst, demanded President Donald Trump’s Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders provide proof she baked a pie she tweeted a photo of on Thanksgiving Day. April Ryan demanded, “Show it to us on the table with folks eating it and a pic of you cooking it.” So that’s exactly what fearless warrior Sarah Sanders did Wednesday evening! The Enemedia are such hate-filled, nasty, mean, obnoxious jerks, with the Ryan woman currently one of the nastiest.

And they wonder why nobody trusts them.

April Ryan will then demand pics of Sanders making it, rolling out pie crust, etc. Won´t let the issue lie and smile.

I´m utterly charmed by the pecans from the Nick Ayers family farm in GA! You get the sense that most of the people in the Trump Administration come from honest stock.

Good for her! I want the recipe! The filling looks wonderful. It seems she used the ´store bought - ready made´ crusts - I hope the graceless Ryan dosn´t call that ´cheating´! I do not make a homemade crust - Pilsberry does a fair ´enough´ refrigerated rolled out dough. I would love to be able to make home made crust - mine comes out too heavy - but even my Mom´s I never liked that much. I know there is a recipe out there for a ´hot water´ crust. There was a sweet potato pie made by a co-worker that was very thin & flaky - the baker would not give me that recipe.

I am learning so much from Sarah H. Sanders about the power of ladyhood. She is always warm and good natured, yet she can command the room with an arched eyebrow. She is obviously highly intelligent and uses her wit like a rapier against the street rabble inhabiting the press room. I expect we will see a marked difference in Mrs. Sanders’ class by the end of the term in June.

Anyone for MAGA pie?

Pretty sure that´s store-bought crust but I don´t doubt she mixed the filling and baked the pie.

I use the ice water method for pie crust - keeping everything cool and not too wet, not too dry is the key. Some people can do it, some can´t, just like all the higher skilled made-from-scratch foods.

I await April Ryan´s one-upmanship showing us her pie crust making ability. Homemade filling of her choice. I won´t hold my breath.

I don´t know why Sarah calls on that Snotty April anyway. I would sit her in the back of the room if I were the Press Secretary! As for the Pies, I always make my own crust, for 50 years. Then one day I was in a hurry, so I tried Publix brand ready made crust (already in the pie tin) Excellent! I haven´t made crust since!!

My late Mother was a pie crust genius. They always came out absolutely perfectly. I tried and tried. Otherwise a good cook and baker, I could not get pie crust to work. Marie Callender helped me one Thanksgiving with the frozen deep dish crusts in pans. I painted the inside of each with a bit of egg white and let it dry while I made the pumpkin filling. The pies came out wonderfully and the crust was not even a tiny bit soggy. They were good pies.

Later I used MC crusts and baked them blind for lemon meringue pies. Same result. Perfect.

I used to do everything from scratch. This was an excellent experience.

You go, Sarah!!!! A wonderful woman, the best press secretary ever (except for Tony Snow and she might give him a run for his money)…

I use Martha Stewart´s pie crust measurements. I use crisco instead of butter makes a flakier crust. I cut the fat into the flour with a pastry cutter not the food processor. Make sure the fat is cut in very well. I do not refrigerate the crust before rolling it out. I always have good luck with this method. Does not ever fall apart. Some crust measurements don´t give you enough dough to roll out.

My mom was convinced she couldn´t make pie because her crust was always hard and heavy. Then she found a recipe in a Mennonite cookbook, and it turned out perfect! After that, we had pumpkin pies and butter tarts all the time, it was just a matter of finding the right recipe.

It´s this one, made with lard (Tenderflake brand is what we have here) and the secret is to fill the cup with enough water to measure 1 cup. (I only use 5 cups of flour, otherwise the dough is a bit too dry.) Work quickly, don´t overhandle the dough or let it get warm, or the lard will start melting and you´ll have a greasy crust that doesn´t flake nicely.

Re #18, that sounds like what my late Mother, the queen of pie crust (!), used/did. She liked the “old” Crisco (the formula was changed some years ago and it was not quite the same, she said) and the key to it was keeping the crust soft and pliable - and very tender. You could feel the tender in her raw pie crust.

The mood on the international conference call at the beginning of this month was somber as Ian Bremmer, president of the political risk consulting firm Eurasia Group, prepared to list off top global dangers in the coming year. Bremmer began with a show-stopping line:"If we had to pick one year for a big unexpected crisis — the geopolitical equivalent of the 2008 financial meltdown — it feels like 2018." The reasons are many, Bremmer cited, but the most prominent causes for global insecurity stem from U.S. President Donald Trump´s move away from global leadership, and China´s eagerness to fill the

WASHINGTON – Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) called the government shutdown a “manufactured crisis” created by Democrats who want a permanent Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) fix, which he referred to as a “non-emergency” issue that does not belong in the short-term spending bill to continue federal government operations. “The one non-emergency issue our friends on the other side of the aisle are trying to shoehorn into this discussion doesn’t reach that status of emergency until March. This is pure folly. The American people know so, that´s why in a recent survey a majority said keeping the government open

Chuck Schumer is taking his big spending boost for Donald Trump’s border wall off the table. The Senate minority leader, through an aide, informed the White House on Monday that he was retracting the offer he made last week to give Trump well north of the $1.6 billion in wall funding Trump had asked for this year, according to two Democrats. And now they say Trump will simply not get a better deal than that on his signature campaign promise. Schumer “took it off,” said Sen. Dick Durbin (D-Ill.), the No. 2 Senate Democrat. “He called the White House yesterday and said

Calling the Trump administration’s tax reform plan a “middle-class tax increase,” two California lawmakers introduced a bill that would force large companies to fork over half of their expected savings to the state. Assemblymen Kevin McCarty and Phil Ting, both Democrats, introduced Assembly Constitutional Amendment 22, which calls for a 10 percent surcharge on companies with a net earnings over $1 million. The plan could potentially raise billions for the state´s social services programs. “It is unconscionable to force working families to pay the price for tax breaks and loopholes benefiting corporations and wealthy individuals,” Ting said in a statement,

The Senate on Monday was set to hold a successful vote to reopen the federal government, after Senate Democrats agreed to let the bill through even though it doesn´t include immigration language they are seeking. "We will vote today to reopen the government to continue negotiating a global agreement," Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., said on the floor. Under the bill up to be called up, the government would be fully funded through Feb. 8, and it would fund the Children´s Health Insurance Program for six years. It would also reopen the government, which has been partially closed since midnight
