Ugly as Mueller’s investigation may look,
it’s on track to clear Trump

New York Post, by Andrew C. McCarthy

There was a rush to judgment last week on Peter Strzok, a top FBI counterintelligence agent and one of the lead agents on the Hillary Clinton emails investigation, after revelations that Strzok exchanged text messages during the 2016 campaign with an FBI lawyer that were pro-Clinton and anti-Trump. The lawyer was Lisa Page, with whom he was having an extramarital affair. Like Strzok, Page worked on both the Clinton probe and on special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation of possible Trump campaign collusion with Russia. In light of the obvious appearance of bias, Mueller rightly removed Strzok from the Trump-Russia case. (Page had

Maybe yes, maybe no. Mr. McCathy has no more knowledge of what Mueller thinks he has than the rest of us. He is reading tea leaves and trying to predict.

Right now Mueller most likely will end up with a big integrity problem when the DOJ Inspector General concludes his report because that’s where all the bias on the part of high level FBI managers should be revealed including major violations of the Hatch Act, a federal law that was enacted to keep partisan politics out of what amounts to the federal civil service.

Who knows that this point if the DOJ even had legitimate predication to commence Mueller’s investigation against the Trump campaign. There is a good possibility, that the FBI also paid to have the so-called “dossier” fabricated by foreigners falsely alleging that Donald Trump did all sorts of things involving Russians that were not true, and then after receiving the “dossier” without verifying the charges listed in it, classified it as evidence, and presented it to a FISA court judge as predication to obtain warrants to effectively spy on Trump, his family, along with the Trump campaign and Administration. Since that time the Mueller investigation has found no evidence that Trump “colluded” with Russians to win the election, if they did the Democrats would have leaked it. The only evidence they have come up with relates to process offenses relating to General Flynn, and other evidence related to two others for offenses unrelated to last year’s Trump campaign. Right now it looks like Mueller and his crew of Hillary Clinton supporters are out there looking for a crime to investigate and prosecute in hopes of undoing the election by removing Trump from office..

That’s is not supposed to happen in the USA where criminal investigations are only supposed to be initiated upon legitimate probable cause, so what appears to be happening to date, with the Mueller investigation, looks to be reminiscent of the old Soviet Union and Banana Republic days.

U.S. counterintelligence officials in early 2017 warned Jared Kushner, President Donald Trump´s son-in-law and senior adviser, that Wendi Deng Murdoch, a prominent Chinese-American businesswoman, could be using her close friendship with Mr. Kushner and his wife, Ivanka Trump, to further the interests of the Chinese government, according to people familiar with the matter. U.S. officials have also had concerns about a counterintelligence assessment that Ms. Murdoch was lobbying for a high-profile construction project funded by the Chinese government in Washington, D.C., one of these people said. The project, a planned $100 million Chinese garden at the National Arboretum, was deemed a

Congressional investigations into the Trump dossier have so far been focused on the FBI and Justice Department. They still are, but now investigators are also looking into a possible Obama State Department role in the collection and dissemination of sensational and still-unverified allegations against candidate Donald Trump gathered by a former British spy working for the Hillary Clinton campaign. In addition to having contacts in the Obama Justice Department and FBI, that former spy, Christopher Steele, was also well-connected with the Obama State Department. Rice said she didn´t want "to get to a place that men start to think, ´Well, maybe it´s just better not to have women around.´ I´ve heard a little bit of that. It´s not a popular thing to defend Paul Manafort, the international influence peddler who ran Donald Trump´s presidential campaign for a short time in 2016. Just search for "Manafort" and, say, "sleazeball," and see what comes up. But even bad guys have a case sometimes. And Manafort has a case in his lawsuit against Trump-Russia special counsel Robert Mueller and deputy attorney general Rod Rosenstein. Mueller sent Manafort a strong message last July, when FBI agents working for Mueller, guns drawn, broke into Manafort´s house in the pre-dawn hours while Manafort and his wife slept inside. Having encountered Michael Wolff and having had an acidulous public exchange with him, I attest that he is an utterly odious man. He can’t write properly, has no professional integrity, and is a sociophobic mud-slinger and myth-maker. His entry into the continuing Trump controversy in its twilight proclaims that we have reached the era of the swiftly evaporating, nausea-inducing nothingburger. Yet, in what will surely prove the one civically useful thing Mr. Wolff will have done in his adult life, he has performed almost the final evisceration of the throbbing pustule of deranged Trumpophobia. In Trump´s D.C., insiders knew what Wolff had to tell before he told the world. ‘Fishermen, sharpen your hooks, bring out the cheese balls and grease your bicycles. Soon there’s going to be trout fishing inside the Beltway.” That’s the first time the phrase “inside the Beltway” – meaning, in this instance, the physical realm within the I-495 ring road that surrounds Washington, D.C. – appeared in the Washington Post, the official Beltway paper. It showed up in a 1977 story about stocking the Anacostia River with trout. It wasn’t until 1983 that the term became reliably figurative, signifying, according

Father Coughlin — a Bannon-like figure in more ways than one — was a major force in American politics for most of the 1930s, wielding significant popular influence. His power increased for
