President Donald Trump along with other politicians from both sides of the aisle reacted late Tuesday after Democratic Alabama Senate candidate Doug Jones defeated Republican Roy Moore in a special election. Trump congratulated Jones in a tweet on his “hard fought victory” and said Republicans will "have another shot at the seat in a very short period of time.” (Tweet) Hillary Clinton also took to Twitter to congratulate citizens of Alabama for electing a senator “who’ll make them proud.” “Tonight, Alabama voters elected a senator who´ll make them proud,” Clinton tweeted. ”And if Democrats can win in Alabama, we can
Of course, Hillary Clinton congratulated Doug Jones. You know what angers me about this? We all had to get in line that it was Bill Clinton´s sex life so get over it. Yet, Roy Moore had to be smeared from incidents long ago.
No more Clintons, no more Obamas, and no more Bushes. They are of the elitist crowd that think they should rule us peasants. Not.
President Donald Trump wants NFL players who kneel during the national anthem to see a tweeted photo of a woman lying next to her husband’s grave in a military cemetery, he said Thursday.(Tweet/Photo) How exactly the powerful Sept. 16 photo ended up on the president’s Twitter feed is unclear, but he immediately endorsed it. (Tweet) Trump has made repeated calls since October for NFL players to stand during the national anthem. The kneeling protests were first propelled by former quarterback Colin Kaepernick who wanted to protest violence against black citizens by police officers. Trump has suggested the NFL change its rules
HARRISBURG, Pa.— A half-ton (0.45 metric tons) of butter has been transformed into a sculpture celebrating Pennsylvania´s dairy industry and heralding the start of the state´s 102nd Farm Show. Agriculture Secretary Russell Redding says the sculpture unveiled Thursday highlights the careers and roles the dairy industry plays in the state. The sculpture features renderings of a cow and a farmer, an agronomist, a milk processor and a shopper with a basket full of products. The butter came from waste scrap butter unsuitable for human consumption. After the show the sculpture will be taken to a farm and turned into energy in
RICHMOND, Va.- Virginia Republicans cheered Thursday when their candidate won a state House of Delegates race by luck of the draw, having his name chosen first out of ceramic bowl. But inside a conference room in Richmond´s Capitol Square, where the drawing was held, it was all agony of defeat and no joy of victory. That´s because Republican David Yancey skipped the drawing, while Democratic challenger Shelley Simonds and many of her supporters absorbed it in stunned silence. The drawing of lots took place after an election, recount and legal battles between Yancey and Simonds ended in a tie. Yancey´s
According to ADP payroll reports the U.S. economy added a whopping 250,000 jobs in December exceeding the earlier forecast of 190k. The DOW jumps over 25,000. This jobs report bolsters confidence in the MAGAnomic prediction shared two years ago. So long as current economic trends continue, the explosion in private sector wage rates, middle-class wages, will begin around Q2 of this year (April – June). Once the eight year Obama-labor-lag is fully absorbed, a tighter job market will put upward pressure on real wages. In Thursday morning tweets, President Trump revealed that he still believes there was widespread voter fraud despite disbanding his controversial voter fraud commission on Wednesday. ´Many mostly Democrat States refused to hand over data from the 2016 Election to the Commission on Voter Fraud,´ Trump tweeted. ´They fought hard that the Commission not see their records or methods because they know that many people are voting illegally. System is rigged, must go to Voter I.D.´ Shortly after his election, the president has charged that ´millions´ had voted in the 2016 presidential election illegally, which robbed him of winning the popular vote.
One of the leading figures in the Democratic Party is taking heat on social media for proudly touting the violent far-left group Antifa. Rep. Keith Ellison (D-Minn.), who serves as DNC deputy chair, tweeted a picture to promote a book called "Antifa: The Anti-Fascist Handbook." (Tweet) The sentiment is not shared by other Democrats, including House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, who condemned violent elements within Antifa, saying violent protesters should be arrested. "You’re not talking about the far left of the Democratic Party — they’re not even Democrats," Pelosi told the Denver Post editorial board. "A lot of them are
Minnesota Democrat Congressman Keith Ellison, who also serves as the DNC´s Deputy Chairman, posted a photo Wednesday night proudly displaying an Antifa handbook and warning Donald Trump about its use. (Tweet/Photo) As a reminder, Antifa is a leftist agitator organization whose members advocate violence for the sake of political gain. They are hardly the "anti-fascists" they claim to be. Antifa is responsible for violent riots during President Trump´s inauguration last year and regularly advocates for shutting down speeches on college campuses across the country. The group is also under FBI investigation for their tactics and has warned about future attacks:Federal
California Democratic Rep. Maxine Waters tweeted out what appeared to be a poem Wednesday in support of Special Counsel Robert Mueller.Waters sent a special message to Mueller over Twitter as he put together his federal grand jury in Washington, D.C. (Tweet) "A message to Mueller: Stay strong and stand tall. Continue to investigate them all. You are indeed answering the people’s call. The Kremlin Klan is going to fall. Around you the Democrats are building a wall. We look forward to the day, to prison they will all be hauled,” the poem reads.Waters has been a staunch Trump opponent, calling
Breitbart News executive Chairman Steve Bannon went on SiriusXM’s Breitbart News Tonight on Wednesday night following the controversial remarks made by President Donald Trump to his former Chief Strategist. It took about two hours into the show before Steve Bannon was asked about the rift between himself and the Trump administration. (Tweets) Bannon had this to say about the controversy, via Breitbart News: JUSTIN: First of all, I think [Donald Trump] made a huge mistake, Steve, bashing you like he did today on Twitter. That was devastating to me. I hope in the future you can forgive him for that
The Dow Jones Industrial Average breached 25,000 points in early trading Thursday, putting the stock index on track to do something it has never done before. If the Dow closes above 25,000 points Thursday, it will mark just 23 days since it closed above 24,000 for the first time. This would be the shortest stretch between 1,000 point milestones, ever. So far the Dow Jones Industrial Average has crossed six 1,000-point milestones since President Donald Trump’s election on Nov. 8, 2016. A finish above 25,000 would be the seventh 1,000 point milestone. Thursday’s higher session comes as markets continue their
One of my favorite Christmastime presents is the Census Bureau’s end-of-the-year release of its annual population estimates for each state. Comparison of the April 1, 2010, Census enumerations and the June 30, 2017, estimates for the states shows how each state fared in the Obama years since this period includes 82 of the 96 months of the Obama administration and only five months of the Trump presidency.Who are the big population gainers? Some small units: the District of Columbia at 15 percent (big government, gentrification), North Dakota at 12 percent (fracking, which liberals failed to stop), Utah at 12 percent
We are being treated to endless warnings on how dangerous Trump´s treats are on Iran and North Korea. It reminds me of the way liberals reacted to Reagan. They said he would start the Third World War. Instead, he brought peace and prosperity to the world for 25 years while ending the Cold War. Appeasement has worked so well with North Korea and Iran, hasn´t it? We appeased the North Koreans for over twenty years while they built up their nuclear arsenal and military, and Trump is being lectured that what he is doing is dangerous? Obama and his administration ignored
New Castle police have confirmed a fire at the Clintons´ home in Chappaqua. Police declined to give further details on the fire at 15 Old House Lane where Bill and Hillary Clinton have lived for nearly 20 years after buying it for $1.7 million in 1999. But scanner reports said it was a bedroom fire and has been extinguished. The house, built in 1889, features five bedrooms over 5,232 square feet and a pool on its 1.1 acres. In fall 2016, the former president and past presidential hopeful bought the
Former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper said during a CNN appearance Tuesday it was “reprehensible” and “disturbing” for President Trump to refer to the Justice Department as the “deep state.” (Snip) He continued, “It doesn’t say anything about pledging loyalty to this president or any other and if not doing so is what constitutes being part of the ‘Deep State,’ I think that represents a fundamental misunderstanding of what this country is all about and what this government is all about and I find that characterization disturbing.” This is in reference to President Trump tweeting Tuesday morning:
Donald Trump never intended to win the election and was left ´horrified´ after his shock victory, a sensational new book has claimed. On the morning of their historic win, everyone on Team Trump was busily lining up opportunities for themselves after what they believed would be an inevitable loss. Kellyanne Conway would be a cable news star, Steve Bannon would become leader of the Tea Party movement, while Ivanka and Jared Kushner would be celebrities. Melania, who had been assured she would not become First Lady, would get to go back to lunching while Trump had started floating the idea of his own
Bill Clinton may have cheated on his wife with Monica Lewinsky because he had lost confidence in her when she failed to pass healthcare reform, a new book suggests. (Snip) Author and former senior adviser to Congress K. Ward Cummings paints a scathing portrait of a president and a first lady who failed because ´compromise was not part of their vocabulary.´ Cummings writes that they were hampered by characteristics that would later haunt Hillary´s presidential run; their ´intense secrecy, the unhealthy nature of their personal power sharing, and their insistence on treating healthcare reform like a war in which everyone
The first lady´s spokeswoman is forcefully pushing back at author Michael Wolff´s account of Melania Trump´s reaction to her husband winning the presidency. In excerpts from Wolff´s dishy new book ´Fire and Fury: Inside the Trump White House,´ the future FLOTUS is visibly upset on election night as things turn around for the Trump campaign. ´Melania was in tears—and not of joy,´ Wolff wrote. The author also noted that it looked like Donald Trump ´had seen a ghost,´ according to the excerpt published by New York Magazine. According to Wolff the idea was that Trump would win by losing.
President Trump’s lawyers sent a cease-and-desist letter to former White House chief strategist Stephe Bannon Wednesday ordering him to refrain from making “disparaging statement” about Trump and his family, according to a new report.ABC News reports the letter, from Trump attorney Charles Harder, accuses Bannon of breaching a non-disclosure agreement signed as part of working on Trump’s campaign. “You have breached the Agreement by, among other things, communicating with author Michael Wolff about Mr. Trump, his family members, and the Company [the Trump campaign], disclosing Confidential Information to Mr. Wolff, and making disparaging statements and in some cases outright defamatory
California would ban the sale of new cars and trucks powered by fossil fuels in 2040 under legislation introduced Wednesday in the state legislature. "We’re at an inflection point: we’ve got to address the harmful emissions that cause climate change," Democratic Assemblymember Phil Ting, the bill’s author, said in a statement. If the measure becomes law, by January 1, 2040, all new passenger vehicles sold in California would have to be so-called zero emission vehicles such as battery-electric or hydrogen fuel cell cars. More cars are sold each year in California than in any other state -- and more than in some countries.
The codes needed to launch a US nuclear strike are supposed to be kept close to the president at all times. A department within the Defense Department is tasked with overseeing all aspects of the nuclear-launch process, including the codes. During Bill Clinton´s presidency, officials from that department discovered the codes had gone missing. The process the president has to go through to launch the US´s nuclear weapons isn´t as simple as pressing a button, but the key component of that process — the codes needed to authorize the launch — are never far from the president. At least they´re
A recent study of adolescents in the state of California by researchers at UCLA found that an eyebrow-raising percentage now identify as "nongender conforming." "We found that 27 percent of youths age 12 to 17 in California, or about 796,000, are GNC," the study stated. The study grouped the kids into three definitions: "gender conforming," "androgynous," or "highly nongender conforming." They found that 20.8 percent were categorized as "androgynous," and an additional 6.2 percent as "highly nongender conforming." This is a huge number that does not align with any prior studies, such as the 4.1 percent of the population of the country that
Attorney General Jeff Sessions will roll back an Obama-era policy that gave states leeway to allow marijuana for recreational purposes. Two sources with knowledge of the decision confirmed to The Hill that Sessions will rescind the so-called Cole Memo, which ordered U.S. attorneys in states where marijuana has been legalized to deprioritize prosecution of marijuana-related cases. (Snip) Sessions, a vocal critic of marijuana legalization, has hinted for months that he would move to crack down on the growing cannabis market. Opponents of legal marijuana celebrated the long-awaited action.
Republicans on key congressional committees say they have uncovered new irregularities and contradictions inside the FBI’s probe of Hillary Clinton’s email server. (Snip) That evidence includes passages in FBI documents stating the “sheer volume” of classified information that flowed through Clinton’s insecure emails was proof of criminality as well as an admission of false statements by one key witness in the case, the investigators said. The name of the witness is redacted from the FBI documents but lawmakers said he was an employee of a computer firm that helped maintain her personal server after she left office as America’s top
Phase two of the remaking of Trump. An internal conflict over the trajectory of the GOP’s evolution in the Trump era quietly reached a turning point in late 2017 that has become clear only in hindsight. The “originals”–who joined Trump’s campaign when no other Republican political professionals would–have been purged or sidelined. The president has opted to outsource his legislative priorities to conventional Republicans in Congress, and he has delegated the conduct of foreign affairs to responsible administration officials. The contemptible alt-right and their “America First” allies are beside themselves even as erstwhile Trump skeptics in the GOP are suddenly
