A would-be suicide bomber set off a device at the Port Authority bus terminal subway station Monday morning, law enforcement sources said. The suspected bomber – who had wires attached to him – was armed with a pipe bomb and a battery pack, sources said. He was taken into custody after the device partially detonated inside the passageway to the N, Q and R trains, according to sources. There was at least one injury and the wounded was the suspect. He was taken to Bellevue Hospital. His identity was not immediately known. Emergency personnel flooded the scene. Mayor de Blasio has been briefed on the

For those unfamiliar with the area under the bus terminal, it is a rabbit warren of connecting 7th and 8th Ave subway lines along with the Grand Central shuttle and the 7 line. It´s a security and transit nightmare to be avoided.

Glad the SOB is alive so that information can be extracted. Pray for the other victim. I am suspicious of the video allegedly taken at the time of explosion--why would anyone be videoing at commuter crush time?

If either Wilhelm or Cuomo say this is the new normal, get used to it, or that we are resilient...THIS is what happens when you withdraw NYPD from overseas cooperation with international police and spend money on stupid social programs and ´free college´ that hardly anyone is eligible for. No platitudes, ACTION TODAY!

Oh, that´s rich. A "Suicide bomber" detonate a bomb but was taken into custody and no mention of his injuries- which apparently, were none. so, if he was an actual "suicide bomber" he is about as unsuccessful as the underwear bomber. This must be a case so conflicted in descriptive wording as to earn a "Dumb as 541t" award.

Listening to Wilhelm and Cuomo blather on about how NYC is a target and that we need to get on about our business. How about stating the obvious? At least Wilhelm is well programmed enough to thank first responders and to state there are no further known threats, plus NYPD on full alert.

How about seeing something and saying something about our increasingly Islamicized neighborhoods in Queens and Brooklyn? How about dem mosques and terror-promoting imams? Do we have to wait to have our very own ´stans´ like in London, Birmingham and Dearborn/Detroit?
So that each of these idiots can wring hands about it?

In a way I am glad Nicole Malliotakis wasn´t elected, because it will take years now for this rot to be rooted out.

I´m waiting for both of these AHs to start blaming the move of the US Embassy to Jerusalem for it.

There is NO SUCH THING AS LONE WOLF. They are always driven by hate affinity, and must, by the nature of their horrific acts, learn from or be around others, in one form or another, of like mindset and goals.

Never, ever a lone wolf.

And shame on CNN - they are disgraceful, and obviously have the notch turned up to make this a Trump-inspired issue. They should be bought out, and then shut down.

Terrorism does not always kill. It instills terror in others.

When a suspect package is found in an airport, demolition experts will often relocate the device to a safe area and detonate it remotely.

When a packaged suspect is identified -- i.e. an unsuccessful suicide bomber -- a similar procedure should be followed. Once all the useful data has been extracted from him, he should be transported to a safe area, wired to his own devices, and detonated remotely.

Wire ´em up and fire ´em up.

This would also meet President Obama´s goal of launching more Muslims into space...

It will be labeled as Trump´s fault by the enemy media and Never Trumpers instigated by moving the embassy to Jerusalem. The live bomber will be represented by Ron Kuby or similar as a victim, dropped on his head at birth or a refugee who couldn´t find his way among the Brooklyn hipsters.

And it will be forgotten by the media as quickly as the mowing down by truck of the Argentines on the West Side bike path.

Senate Democrats said Thursday they had enough votes to block a GOP short-term budget deal — increasing the likelihood of a government shutdown as Friday’s midnight deadline loomed. A senior Senate Democratic aide told The Washington Post it was “almost certain” that a spending extension does not have the votes to pass the upper chamber. The Democrats want the bill to include relief for the Dreamers — immigrants brought here illegally as children and who were protected by the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program. The recipe for the current congressional gridlock is complex, but at the top of the list of ingredients are the illegal immigrant Dreamers who pushed Democrats to launch the filibuster that sent the government careening into a partial shutdown.
