Gorsuch Just Dropped The Ultimate
Wedding Cake Truth Bomb

Daily Caller, by Kevin Daily

Original Article

(Video) Justice Neil Gorsuch finally told the truth about wedding cakes during a contentious argument about a Christian baker’s refusal to create a custom wedding cake for a gay couple planning their nuptials. Gorsuch admitted that wedding cakes just aren’t good. “In fact, I have yet to have a wedding cake that I would say tastes great,” he said, to laughter in the courtroom. (Snip) Gorsuch’s broader point was that some creation serves both utilitarian and speech interests. The primary purpose of cake is consumption, but it might also convey creative expression. This is true of other businesses involved in a wedding

Rush noted on his program today that the baker had offered to sell these people an off the shelf cake. The baker did not want to create a ´special´ cake for the event - i. e. work with them to make a cake that was an expression of their ´union´. Obviously for a ´regular´ wedding the baker would feel that his cake would be commemorating something sacred. Not so for a gay ´marriage´. I would not either, as a Baha´i, want to [in agreement with most other religious faiths] celebrate sinful behavior. This would not be an option for me. In the past I have refused printing t-shirts with dirty words. To me it is the same thing. By creating a special dirty word t-shirt or a cake for a sinful event one would be participating in and condoning the corruption.

They wanted a custom job - a special design that he’d be expected to execute for them. I can only imagine...

When I was a young prison Guard, I had to escort the inmates to church services. I had to go inside the chapel with them and watch that they behaved themselves. Now, I will not go into my particular and personal religion (Yes, many here may be surprised, but I do have a faith that is very deep in my soul). Some of the churches I had to enter, to me, were the same as walking into Satan´s living room. I absolutely detested entering those churches and listening to their "Priests" or "pastors" or otherwise ululate their gibberish nonsense. But, my job was to supervise those inmates. I stayed focused on that and nothing else. Yet, even so, afterward, each time I had to do that duty, I felt totally drained, and my inner conscience was in turmoil. What kind of faithful am I to my own beliefs if i violate my conscience like that. I had options. I did not have to keep that job! I could make a living doing other jobs. I could flat out refuse the duty and take the consequences. I did not. I kept on doing it. And to this day, I deeply regret it. I keep thinking about Nazi concentration camp guards, doing their duty- forcing people into death chambers, brutalizing them, - It was their duty also, wasn´t it? Their State would have shot them if they had followed their conscience and refused the duty. Our consciences are funny little things aren´t they? I only wish I had been as strong as this cake man is.I wish I had simply said, "No." Should the state take this man´s right to obey his conscience and simply say, "No."

#1 - If I were a T-shirt silk-screener, there´s no way I would design a T-shirt that said "Celebrate Pederasty" or "F*** Trump" or "Support ISIS" or "Happy Birthday Adolph Hitler." I don´t have to design a message I happen to abhor --- religion or no religion.

A wedding cake is a message. (C´mon. What is the first word in "wedding cake"?) I don´t hate the people who asked for this message, I am simply free to decline to be the messenger.

For any reason, or what you might call no reason at all: simply because it´s my labor.

It´s about choosing free enterprise, not involuntary servitude.

Some of this brings to mind the case of two New Jersey parents who had named their children "Adolf Hitler Campbell" and "Joycelynn Aryan Nation" and had their children taken away from them by the state after a store refused to decorate a birthday cake reading "Happy Birthday Adolf Hitler". The state insisted the children were removed after investigating claims of abuse. This happened in 2009. Does the refusal of the store to supply the cake in this instance infringe on someone´s rights or do some special groups have more rights than latter-day Nazi´s?

We have speculated that U.S. District Court Judge Rudolph Contreras was recused, either by himself or by challenge, because he is also a FISA Court Judge and could have signed off on the October FISA warrant that led to the wiretapping and surveillance of General Flynn.

Special prosecutors, investigators, and counsels are usually a bad idea. They are admissions that constitutionally mandated institutions don’t work — and can be rescued only by supposed superhuman moralists, who are without the innate biases inherent in human nature. The record from Lawrence Walsh to Ken Starr to Patrick Fitzgerald suggests otherwise. Originally narrow mandates inevitably expand — on the cynical theory that everyone has something embarrassing to hide. Promised “short” timelines and limited budgets are quickly forgotten. Prosecutors search for ever new crimes to justify the expense and public expectations of the special-counsel appointment. Soon the investigators need to
