A Most Remarkable Year

In the last 12 months US backed combat operations drove ISIS from its last bits of territory; America withdrew from the Paris Agreement on Climate Change, UNESCO, the Trans-Pacific Partnership. The House and Senate have come within sight of overhauling the tax code and dismantling Obamacare. Most recently Donald Trump in a spectacular departure from his predecessor´s Middle Eastern diplomacy has moved the US embassy in Israel to Jerusalem. It is as if a hurricane has swept through Washington. Each fallen pillar represents a very deliberate reversal of the status quo ante policies of Barack Obama. The entire edifice the former

Trump has upended Washington because for decades they have gotten away with saying they believe what their voters wanted, and claiming it is impossible to get what they want with the terrible congress who is fighting them.
Now we can plainly see that republicans didn´t really want to reverse obamacare, democrats didn´t really want to recognize Israel´s capitol city, republicans didn´t really want tax reform, democrats didn´t really want to protect women from workplace harassment, republicans didn´t really want to expose corruption like the slush fund for sexcapades in congress.....

Astounding numbers: Over 84-99% democrat in government, education and defense positions. They didn´t get there in 8 years. It took decades to get where we are.

Communists never quit and their reinforcements are streaming over the borders.

"A survey of federal government employees have the liberals over the Deplorables by almost 19 to 1."

This cries out for Civil Service reform, particularly a return to actual examination and ranked placement for referral under one authority. The current system smacks of cronyism and has little merit associated.

As it is today, virtually all Federal government hiring is done by the agency under delegated authority from the Office of Personnel Management with no actual examination whatever. And, to date, the Trump Administration has not replaced the "acting" director holdover. Personnel is policy.

Trump should also revisit the consent decree entered by the Carter Administration that eliminated any rigorous testing on the basis of racial bias for "professional" positions.

Drain the swamp...

For once, I have to agree with the incredible narcissist when he offers a self-congratulatory "Thanks, Obama" about all the improvements since he left office. If it wasn´t for the Obama´s delusional left wing policies and beliefs, we would not have Trump as president. Instead, we would be watching President Hillary cup her hand over Huma Abedin´s ear to whisper "Tell Putin that the $250 million to the Foundation is viewed as a downpayment, not a total payment, for having me slash our defense budget. And tell FBI Director Strzok that if he wants to remain as FBI Director through the end of my 8 years that he better send his agents after Rush, Tucker and Hannity."

A wonderful year, President Trump is turning out to be more effective and more committed to MAGA than I could have ever dreamed.

But the enemy are numerous and are exceedingly angry and they have absolutely no morals, no ethics, no conscience. They are willing to do literally anything that they think will let them win.

I am repeatedly reminded of something I heard when I was a young man, the Old Chinese Curse.

It is "May you live in interesting times."

No doubt that we are living in interesting times. And when I was puzzling out what that curse might actually mean, probably 45 years ago, I realized that the interesting things that are written about are wars, famines, social upheavals, revolutions, great weather and geological disasters where usually the common folks are ground to pieces beneath the hooves of the horses or wheels of the chariots of the warriors. No hooves or chariots this time, the technology is different, but people are not.

Beware these interesting times, and be ready to avoid you and your loved ones being the speed bumps of history, whatever you think that might require.

Pray for and support our President.

FTA: One possible explanation for the surprising competitiveness is the existence of some weakness which prevents liberals from generating their nominal power potential. In fact the inability of the Resistance to generate net thrust is indirect confirmation the toxic lying, wasteful spending, institutional incompetence and ideological madness of which they have been accused is at least partially true.

What Wretchard states outright is the truism that the Left lies fluently, encourages anti-family immorality, and pushes foolish economic and strategic policies, not because these policies work, but because they garner the greatest number of votes, the more ignorant the more reliable. No honest observer denies this.

PDJT has boldly taken on the administrative ("deep") state, something none of his predecessors did with nearly as much intent as he shows. Naturally, the Deep State is fighting back, sacrificing every piece up to the black queen (Hillary) in order to get at the white king (Trump), to lay him low with interference, static, a few more clients of Gloria Allred ... something, anything. The whole accusation game has become a toxic brew of true and untrue charges, a travesty.

If Roy Moore wins as expected, does the Senate refuse to seat him on the basis of what might well be unsubstantiated and unprovable rumors? In the case of Conyers, he was a known hound dog since he arrived in DC in 1964; concerning Franken, there´s photographic evidence of his bad behavior plus his history of joking about rape.

Moore´s unpardonable sin to the Left is his unabashed Christian faith. His accusers all appear to be politically motivated. As a sitting senator, he would be a living affront to at least 80 other senators. Is that necessarily a bad thing?

A mountain of evidence points to a single fact: Russia meddled in the U.S. presidential election of 2016. In both classified and public reports, U.S. intelligence agencies have said Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered actions to interfere with the election. Those actions included the cyber-theft of private data, the placement of propaganda against particular candidates, and an overall effort to undermine public faith in the U.S. democratic process. Members of Congress, both Democrats and Republicans, have held open and closed door hearings to probe Russia’s actions. The congressional investigations are ongoing. Facebook, Google and Twitter have investigated their own networks,

Last week the world was scheduled to burn. Pundits were predicting that recognizing Jerusalem as capital of Israel would unleash a torrent of blood in the Middle East, if not around the world. The White House decision was criticized on many grounds not in the least as being a violation of international law. But as Ralph Peters noted, a strange thing happened. By and large the streets stayed calm. "Instead, the largest demonstration anywhere this weekend was the funeral procession for Johnny Hallyday, the ´French Elvis.´ " Peters thinks non-rage occurred because the assumptions underlying the predictions had changed and the

After Kevin Spacey was excised from the upcoming movie All the Money in the World (his scenes to be reshot with Christoper Plummer), I modestly proposed that Hollywood remove and reshoot Spacey’s scenes in Beyond the Sea and The Usual Suspects, and destroy all copies of American Beauty — that hackneyed attempt at a takedown of suburban America. This expungement, I said in jest, was the required remedy for Spacey’s sexual assaults and related misconduct. Now I learn that Minnesota Public Radio has expunged Garrison Keillor — also accused of sexual misconduct, albeit vastly less severe than Spacey’s. According to this

Bitcoin has been much in the news recently, particularly because of the meteoric increase in the price of a bitcoin — from less than a dollar in 2009 to (at this moment as I type on 10 December 2017) about $15,440, up from $10,012 as I typed the first draft on 30 November 2017. This has, not unreasonably, gotten a lot of attention in the financial markets, with mixed opinions among financial pundits. Sometimes talking to leftists could better be accomplished with interpretive dance routines, or perhaps by miming our meaning. For weeks now, I’ve been stewing over a yard sign in one of the more virtue-signally parts of Denver Colorado. The sign was bi-colored and two-part, and the top said “We Believe in Science” while the bottom said, “No human being is illegal.” Understand, I didn’t oppose the meaning of those words on that sign, because those words were nonsensical. Or, to quote from one of my favorite books, The Moon is a Harsh Mistress by Robert A. Heinlein, “null program.” I mean, let’s take

HILLSBORO, Ohio — A year removed from our newspaper’s endorsement of Donald Trump for president, the most frequent question I get in emails and letters are from Trump critics asking whether I regret the endorsement. I find it an odd question. It’s reflective of a similar theme often directed at Trump supporters in columns from many of our nation’s leading op-ed writers, especially after a presidential tweet-storm or inflammatory comment or action. “Will President Trump’s supporters finally desert him?” they ask. Through the years, it became an accepted tenet of American politics that promises made and personas adopted by presidential candidates to

CLEARWATER — It was the evangelical Christian right that cheered President Donald Trump’s early promise to revoke the law that forbids churches, with their tax-exempt status, from endorsing political candidates. Now that Republican lawmakers have tucked a provision softening the Johnson Amendment into the House tax reform bill, the impact could be broader than the Trump supporters envisioned, giving aid to the Church of Scientology, with its history of seeking legitimacy through proximity to politicians. While the House version of the tax overhaul includes wording allowing religious leaders and nonprofits to back candidates without losing their tax-exempt status, the Senate version doesn’t
