ABC´s Brian Ross Should Be Fired

When you´re the source for "breaking news" but it turns out to be "faking news," you´re in trouble. ABC News "chief investigative correspondent" Brian Ross reported on retired Army Gen. Michael Flynn´s plea deal with special counsel Robert Mueller by claiming that Flynn is "prepared to testify that President Trump, as a candidate, Donald Trump, ordered him, directed him to make contact with the Russians which contradicts all that Donald Trump has said to this point." It was a nuclear explosion. Within minutes, the stock market plunged 350 points. It quickly became clear that was flat-out wrong. Later, ABC News

Brian Ross has been found to have a disability and ABC is going seek to have it covered under ADA. It is Never Trump Syndrome.

Yes, he should. Ross did not just report for ABC News. He was highly promoted, given a spotlight on its broadcasts, for his “investigative reporting”. That is a very special niche. He ended up doing it very badly. Gross incompetence in one’s job is a reason for termination.

Management of MSM is in a tough spot. They have encouraged this and the people they NEED to fire can turn on them and cost them their power. This is why Lauer expects a huge exit check and why Ross may just be reassigned.

For those of us in the real world....if someone is selling heart pumps, real estate, organic food.... and sells a fake, they will probably get fired or arrested.

Fake news seems to be the new normal for the mainstream media.

I cannot watch / read / listen to the alphabet TV stations or NYT, WaPo, Newsweek, Time, etc. print media.

Fox News doesn´t seem to be much better in this respect.

Yes, definitely.

The MSM claims they are better than alternative and online sources because they have more resources and are more more accurate.

Well, this proves they are not and they should be held accountable. They have great visibility and great power because of it. With that power goes the responsibility to use it properly. It is clear that Ross isn´t up to the challenge.

Also, it suggests that management at ABC has not ingrained a culture of responsible journalism into their reporters. Ross didn´t do this alone. In the urgency to get the story and take down Trump they blew off journalistic standards and care. They did real damage to the Country.

The Secret Tax Hike On Investors
In The Senate´s Tax Reform Plan
Investor´s Business Daily, by Staff    Original Article

Tax Reform: Will the tax reform now being readied for takeoff hit some investors hard? It just might. And it´s a lesson in why simplicity and equal treatment in tax reform is so important. The current tax plan in the Senate would make it tougher for holders of long-term capital gains in the stock market to minimize their tax liability, thanks to an obscure proposed change in accounting rules. The Senate proposal would require those who own shares in a company and who subsequently wish to sell those shares to sell the oldest ones in the portfolio first — an idea known

When it comes to tax policy, each side plays its part. Republicans overstate the growth implications of tax reform, and Democrats accuse them of favoring the rich. When the New York Times´ Michelle Goldberg recently described the proposed GOP tax bill as "wretched," and certain to make "the rich richer and the poor poorer," the refrain was so trite that it was difficult to get even a little bit riled up. This is what the Democrats always say about GOP tax legislation. The left likes to talk about fairness. But, fairness is inherently subjective. Boosting your taxes may seem fair to me, and

Media Bias: In the span of a few days, two major news outlets came out with huge Trump/Russia bombshells that blew up in their own faces. In both cases, the error involved getting something as simple as a date wrong. CNN was in a frenzy on Friday over an apparent scoop by reporter Manu Raju, who claimed that an email sent to President Trump, Donald Trump Jr, and others on the campaign — and dated Sept. 4, 2016 — offered Trump access to purloined WikiLeaks documents. Jobs: With 228,000 jobs created in November, joblessness at a 17-year low of 4.1% and wages rising, it can no longer really be doubted: Donald Trump´s relentless focus on tax cuts, deregulation and draining the swamp is great for job growth. Even some normally critical media now admit the economy´s underlying shift: "The American job market is the strongest it´s been in a decade, and arguably the strongest since 2000," wrote The New York Times on Friday. The Times is right. And the change is noteworthy, especially when viewed year-over-year. Even though the workforce expanded by just under 1.1 million workers in the

Global Warming: We keep hearing how climate change is "settled science," even though science is never settled. But if it were, why are scientists going to court to intimidate those who would dare challenge the global warming dogma? Back in June, the National Academy of Sciences published a paper with a typically bland title: "Evaluation of a proposal for reliable low-cost grid power with 100% wind, water, and solar." The paper, which had 21 authors, was a robust critique of work done by Stanford professor Mark Jacobson, whose widely cited research claimed that the U.S. could easily switch to 100% renewable energy

Coastal cities and towns across the United States are now facing significant pressure from Moody´s Investors Service, one of the world´s most important credit agencies, to battle climate change. Failing to do so, Moody´s warns, could result in downgraded credit ratings. In a recent report to clients, Moody´s outlined several indicators its analysts use to assess "the exposure and overall susceptibility of U.S. states to the physical effects of climate change" while crafting credit ratings for state, city, and regional government bonds. Among the indicators Moody´s listed is the share of a community´s economy that´s linked to the coast. Moody´s says cities

The number of people filing for unemployment benefits last week came in "unexpectedly" low. Instead of 240,000 claims, there were 236,000, which marked the third week in a row this number has dropped. That´s not a big deal in the grand scheme of things. It´s just one measure, after all, and the differences aren´t huge. Except it adds to a pile of "unexpectedly" good economic reports that have been coming out these days. ADP reported that payrolls "unexpectedly" climbed 190,000 in November, while analysts had predicted 185,000. Consumer confidence "unexpectedly" hit a 17-year high in November. Labor costs "unexpectedly" fell in the third quarter while

Scandals: Among the many troubling revelations to have emerged regarding the FBI these days, one of the worst is finding out that an avowed Trump-hater softened language in a memo to exonerate Hillary Clinton. Let´s rewind the tape a bit. Until August 31, 2016, with the presidential election in full swing, former FBI director James Comey gave the impression that he hadn´t arrived at his decision to let Clinton off the hook until after he had all the facts. But in late August we learned that, in fact, Comey and his team began drafting his get-out-of-jail-free statement for Clinton in April —

Mideast: Despite a firestorm of protests, President Trump says he will recognize Jerusalem as Israel´s capital and eventually move the U.S. embassy there from Tel Aviv. Consider it another Trump promise kept. Presidents of both parties have promised for years to recognize Jerusalem as Israel´s capital. Yet, somehow complications inevitably arose — "Europe" claimed it would "complicate" peace talks, or the Palestinians said it would make peace impossible, or radical Islamists threatened unrest and terrorism by the "Arab Street" in response to the provocation. So no president, Democrat or Republican, ever truly, officially recognized Israel´s capital for what it plainly was: the
