Texas Town Drops English as Official Language
Breitbart Texas, by Merrill Hope

A North Texas city dropped English as its official language, a move dubbed by its mayor as heralding in a “new day” that was “welcoming” and “inclusive.” On Tuesday evening, the city council of Farmers Branch voted unanimously to repeal a 2006 ordinance that declared English as the municipality’s official language. That policy stated all city business must be conducted in English, the “common language” of Texas and the United States and said “the use of a common language removes barriers of misunderstanding” and enables “civic participation of all citizens, regardless of national origin, creed, race.” The Dallas Business Journal recently

At least its not California this time. It’s the Texans turn to take a ride on the progressive merry-go-round. If you concentrate on the center you don’t get so dizzy.

The Progressive Socialist insanity is not exclusive to California or New York. Every one of our 50 states have hotbeds in their urban areas and university towns. They already hold more seats in state legislatures and town councils than you care to imagine. No state is immune.

With your indulgence, I would like to take this opportunity to address those who are quick to wish catastrophic earthquakes, wildfires, and floods on California just because we have an advanced infection. The virus is everywhere so it does no good to cast aspersions on the Left Coat or the Eastern Corridor just because you think you’re safe in a red state. Deplorables living deep behind blue lines need moral support. We need to know that we are not irredeemable. So instead of wishing Texas falls into the Gulf of Mexico, I hope this serves as a call that vigilance against the Left is needed in all the states.

MAGA – It depends on every one of us.

What a moron. Farmer´s Branch made national news back then when they made it an ordinance to not rent to people in the country illegally. Of course liberal fifth-columnist Judges shot it all to hell and the town was made to suffer in the MSM. This idiot mayor is trying to be the Rodney King/MLK of his day and kumbaya his way to glory, but this is a STOOPID move in denying the decision of the citizens to stand.

Sorry, #4, but it´s not even close.

Texas, like every state, has it´s little enclaves of LIE-beral idiocy. God knows we have Austin, a cesspit of LIE-beralism in a mostly conservative state.

But our state government is solidly conservative and Republican. We do NOT do all the insane things that they do in Cubafornia!!!!!! What a tiny town like Farmer´s Branch does has no effect on the other 99.99% of the state. Unlike Cubafornia, where the state government mandates socialist garbage on every citizen of that state.

Don´t get me wrong, I feel a ton of empathy for the conservatives stuck in that socialist hell-hole of Cubafornia!!! But do not EVER try to compare Cubafornia to Texas!!! As far as politics, Texas is an island of sanity, and Cubafornia is a cesspool of LIE-beralism!!!!!

#12 - I appreciate your passionate defense of your state, but I did not compare Texas to California as equal in its progressive infection. Similarly, in defense of my state I used the example of Farmers Branch to show that even within states with solid conservative legislatures the rot of liberalism is already taking root.

I was hoping for perhaps a little less condemnation of an entire state that presumes there is no hope for it to ever be normal again. I guess I missed your ton of empathy hiding between the five references to "Cubafornia" and the descriptions of my birth state as a "hell hole" and "cesspool".

Thank you #10, you´re the type of person I think of when I think of Texas.

Roy Moore’s Story Is Unraveling

A month ago, when Roy Moore was accused of having pursued teenage girls while in his 30s, he equivocated. “Do you remember dating girls that young?” Sean Hannity asked him. Moore hedged: “Not generally, no. If I did, you know, I’m not going to dispute anything, but I don’t remember anything like that.” Hannity asked Moore about Debbie Gibson, who said she had dated Moore when she was 17 and he was 34. “I don’t remember going out on dates,” said Moore. “I knew her as a friend. If we did go out on dates, then we did.” Moore’s uncertainty

Senate Republicans will have decisions to make. First, they must decide what to say. Members who believe the most serious allegations against Moore and don’t think the passage of nearly 40 years matters should feel free to say Moore is unfit for the Senate and thus should resign. Once they say so, they will have done as much as Democrats did to John Conyers and Al Franken. And much more than they did to Bill Clinton. But if they declare Moore unfit, they should be prepared to explain why they consider Donald Trump fit for the presidency. The allegations of

Ed touched on this earlier. I think Franken’s play in his “resignation” speech was fiendishly clever. He’s quitting, yeah — but not for a few weeks, coincidentally after Alabama and Senate Republicans will have rendered their verdicts on Roy Moore. He was careful this morning not to admit to any wrongdoing, merely saying that he’d lost the confidence of his colleagues and therefore had to go. Imagine now that Moore wins and, as expected, McConnell’s caucus immediately starts hemming and hawing about whether he should be expelled. Some Republicans will deflect by insisting that the ethics committee should look into

Rumors that the Republican National Committee was built on the site of an ancient moron burial ground gained new credence this week when it confirmed that it was renewing its support for Alabama´s Republican Senate candidate Roy Moore. I shouldn’t joke, because the worst thing about the RNC’s decision isn’t the stupidity — though the stupidity is real, and spectacular — but the moral obscenity. Last month, the RNC and the National Republican Senatorial Committee pulled out of their joint fundraising agreements because Moore had been credibly accused by several women of having preyed upon them when they were teenagers,

Republicans rammed a bill through the House on Wednesday that would make it easier for gun owners to legally carry concealed weapons across state lines, the first significant action on guns in Congress since mass shootings in Nevada and Texas killed more than 80 people. The House approved the bill, 231-198, largely along party lines. The measure would allow gun owners with a state-issued concealed-carry permit to carry a handgun in any state that allows concealed weapons. It now goes to the Senate. Republicans said the reciprocity measure, a top priority of the National Rifle Association, would allow gun owners

Golly. It’s one thing to suspend a reporter for making an incredibly damaging error of basic fact on air. But to remove him from covering a particular subject altogether? That’s the sort of thing you might do if you’d concluded he’s incapable of covering that topic fairly. If it’s an innocent mistake borne of carelessness, there’s no need to declare certain topics off-limits. You do that only when you think the reporter’s view of that topic will necessarily compromise his judgment. And if you’ve got a reporter like that on staff and the topic happens to be the president and

Senate Republicans have approved the repeal of ObamaCare’s individual mandate as part of their tax-cut bill, a major step toward ending an unpopular part of the health-care law. “Families ought to be able to make decisions about what they want to buy and what works for them — not the government,” Sen. John Barrasso (R-Wyo.) said, hailing the accomplishment. “I believe if people don’t want to buy the ObamaCare insurance, they shouldn’t have to pay a tax penalty to the IRS.” The Senate tax bill must still be reconciled with House legislation that does not include the mandate’s repeal. It’s important to state this clearly as possible — the statement contains no evidence of collusion with Russia to influence the presidential election. Instead, it amplifies the fact that Flynn apparently lied about contacts that were lawful and appropriate. First, the statement says that the day after President Obama announced sanctions in response to Russian efforts to interfere with the 2016 election, Flynn called a “senior official of the Presidential Transition
