It turns out that the effort to keep taxpayers ignorant of harassment claims paid to victims of abusive members of Congress – using our own money – may be futile in a least some cases. The victims signed confidentiality agreements, and so did Congress. So the two sides are mutually forbidden to spill the beans. But the veil of silence does not cover third parties who were aware of the harassment and settlements. And people do talk among themselves about such scandalous doings. Not only that, but once they see other people talking, those in the know are inspired to loosen their lips. Thus, we learn

Exactly how does a taxpayer funded payment get protected from public disclosure. A FOIA request would have to provide the details invluding names of any settlements.

Congressional records are under Ryan, Pelosi, McConnell and Schumer, so don’t expect much. Executive Branch records — FISA applications, unmasking requests, CFIUS paperwork, supposedly “sealed” records of things like Uranium One and tax mischief, etc. etc. are now under the control of POTUS #45, Sessions, Pompeo, Wray and other good guys. Obama, Hillary, Rice, Jarrett, Rhodes, Brennan, Clapper, Comey, Holder, Lynch, Yates and others are about to learn that notwithstanding their bonfires during the transition, internet and other electronic records are,too widely scattered — and are also, unlike true love, forever.

The arrogance of these reprobates to shield one another with a slush fund to buy off their victims of sexual harassment is beyond disturbing. Using tax payer money is truly disgusting. Where else could something like this go on?

Hard working Americans are paying for these sexual predators to be able to commit these crimes without fear of prosecution. Only in the cesspool that is Washington DC could something like this go on. Every degenerate that has had an allegation disappear because tax payer cash paid off their victim should be exposed and be made to reimburse the government the sum that was paid on their behalf. If they have cash to spend on this, the deficient they are always crying over is a joke. Cough up the cash the taxpayer paid on their behalf and lose their pension and every benefit they receive from the government.

I want my money back, personally from each gov´t employee who used it for their personal "transgressions".

This corruption must stop now.

The next few months are going to be really interesting as the list of leftist harassers, assaulters and gropers lengthens and resignations pile up.

If you read the interview with the aide who withdrew her complaint, her job description was to do everything for this old codger except to change his nappy. He is clearly incompetent and well past his prime.

It is just too easy to hang onto the entitled, privileged position in the Congress with very little in the way of governance. They need to establish a Competency Review Board!

Doug Jones believes he became the first Democrat Alabama will send to the U.S. Senate in more than a 30 years because he’s a “center-of-the-road political figure” who seeks “common ground” — a goal he discussed Wednesday with President Donald Trump.“It was a very gracious call,” Jones told reporters. “He congratulated me on the race that we had run. He congratulated me and my staff. … And we talked about finding that common ground. Special prosecutors, investigators, and counsels are usually a bad idea. They are admissions that constitutionally mandated institutions don’t work — and can be rescued only by supposed superhuman moralists, who are without the innate biases inherent in human nature. The record from Lawrence Walsh to Ken Starr to Patrick Fitzgerald suggests otherwise. Originally narrow mandates inevitably expand — on the cynical theory that everyone has something embarrassing to hide. Promised “short” timelines and limited budgets are quickly forgotten. Prosecutors search for ever new crimes to justify the expense and public expectations of the special-counsel appointment. Soon the investigators need to
