WASHINGTON — Maine Sen. Susan Collins went further Sunday than most of her Republican colleagues in expressing worry about the sexual assault allegations against President Donald Trump, saying they were one of the reasons she did not vote for him.“Those allegations remain very disturbing,” Collins said in an interview on ABC’s “This Week with George Stephanopoulos.” She added that she did not support Trump in the 2016 campaign in part because of news reports about women accusing him of unwanted touching or kissing.

Comments:
Sad to see that the Bangor Daily has allowed itself to become a voice for WaPo. The article has a poll question too...

I can say without hesitation or regret that I will be voting for whomever runs against Mrs. Collins in whatever office she chooses to run for.
She recently was invited to where I work. I found that taking a nap in stall #4 was not so uncomfortable after all.

No...I´ll tell you what´s ´very disturbing´ is the ever increasing tendency in this country to equate an unproven allegation the same as a conviction. That´s what´s disturbing. I wasn´t aware that I´d relocated to the Soviet Union.

The article says a bipartisan group in the Senate has put together a bill to mandate classes for Congresscritters and their staffs to "prevent sexual assault". Unbelievable. It´s preposterous. It´s ridiculous and it´s totally laughable!!!

Where was all the concern about Bill Clinton behavior- in the White House, let alone the strewn path of women he abused. Crickets

It depends on what is is...he parsed words and denied having sex, until caught. And he is still defended.

The only thing more laughable then what #3 pointed out will probably be who is chosen to teach the sexual harassment classes.

Would not surprise me at all if Bill" Big O in the Oval Office" Clinton and Joe "Hide your daughters" Biden get the nod due to their experience in the subject.

Ah. Ms. Collins. A very odd person whose robotic manner of speech leaves the listener both feeling sorry for her disability and wishing to flee the room. Is it strategic? Maybe. She appears to be a swamp creature of mediocre intelligence but superior guile. To the voters of Maine: it´s time to get rid of her. She´s helping to bring the country down and you with it.

Yes, I agree, the President´s background of treating his first wife badly, getting a woman pregnant while still married and the various and sundry other documented disturbing history was a problem for me, but he became our nominee and then he won and he´s so much better than Mrs. Clinton would have been. I support him and his agenda completely. Or almost completely. However, I wish he´d forgo the petty little spit-fights on Twitter. It´s demeaning and undermining. He´s still better than Hillary, though.

Do you think Mueller´s fake committee leaked to Collins? If Trump goes the party will go. The fake republicans in the fake senate care about one thing ..themself...The warning should have been when dems turned against dems..they Never turn on their own like the fake republicans are doing. . Dems are not guilty until proven guilty, republicans are automatically guilty when accused & are never innocent. I blame Sessions for all this mess his stepping down from the fake Russia mess allowed the dems to run the JD, have a committee with 100% dems, allowed the dems to run the JD, proved the JD is very weak & Sessions will will never appoint a council against the Clintons. At every WH press conference a democrat reporter ask about Trump´s sexual assaults??? Mueller should be investigated for these leaks.

I´m sorry. But, what is happening in this country is ridiculous. I would bet you could go back to most of the 60´s generation and find someone that could point to situations that could now be construed as career ending.

I´m not talking about pedifilia, or rape, Im talking about the beginning of the "free love", "if it feels good do it", "no rules" woman´s movement generation. There is certainly workplace harassment, but to now go back and try to ruin someone for what was taken lightly at the time, is crazy. We have really big problems in our country.... this is not one of them.

Allegations of sexual harassment seem to be the current fad used by detractors to tarnish the reputations of those they do not like, or wish to harm. Ms. Collins, unless you have proof to substantiate any such claims then just maybe you should save your being "greatly disturbed" for actuality and not reputation damaging gossip.

Forgiving no one, but blaming only the man seems quite unfair.
