ObamaCare´s Individual Mandate Is Unfair

Health Care: Will Republicans even be able to repeal the most egregious failure in ObamaCare? We´re about to find out as the tax cut bill, which in the Senate will include repeal of ObamaCare´s individual mandate tax, moves forward. According to the Congressional Budget Office, eliminating the individual mandate will save more than $300 billion over the next decade, which is money Republicans can use to "pay for" other tax cuts. Critics argue this is just another attempt by the GOP to "gut" ObamaCare, which might be true if the mandate worked at all. The much-hated individual mandate was supposed to be

Dems hysterically screaming about "taking away people´s health care".
Nobody is prevented from purchasing health insurance under exactly the same terms as are currently in force. But they can choose to buy it or not buy it, without government coercion.

Freedom.

Dems hate it, scream and cry about it.

They´re also continuing to lie that it is about ´health-care´ when it´s really the dems funneling money to their insurance cronies. Nothing to do with medical care at all, except to make it more expensive with their regulations and reporting requirements and other unconstitutional interference in local business and our lives. Interference that the ´commerce clause´ was not meant to allow - just read what the founders had to say.

In Draining The CFPB Swamp,

Regulation: After Consumer Finance Protection Bureau chief Richard Cordray submitted his resignation, President Trump picked a suitable temporary director to replace him: Mick Mulvaney, the current director of the Office of Management and Budget. The swamp didn´t like it. It turns out that Cordray, quite illegally, on his way out named his deputy, Leandra English, as the temporary director. When Mulvaney arrived at work Monday morning, he was forced to issue a memo saying "Please disregard any instructions you receive from Ms. English in her presumed capacity as acting director." He was being polite. This was nothing more than an attempt at

The Latest Tax Cut Lie: The
Senate Bill Will Hurt The Poor

Tax Reform: The Senate tax bill would reduce income taxes for people at every income level — even those who don´t pay taxes. That´s the official conclusion of the Joint Committee on Taxation. So why are Monday´s headlines screaming that the tax cuts would make the poor much worse off? "Senate GOP tax bill hurts the poor more than originally thought, CBO finds." That´s the headline in the Washington Post describing a Congressional Budget Office report released on Sunday. The story claims that the "Republican tax plan gives substantial tax cuts and benefits to Americans earning more than $100,000 a year, while

Environmentalism: Every once in a while, environmentalists will let slip that the goal of fighting climate change can´t be won unless capitalism is first defeated. The fact that there´s no evidence to support the claim doesn´t seem to matter. The latest to make this case is Arizona State University fellow Benjamin Fong in an Op-Ed published recently by the New York Times, headlined "The Climate Crisis? It´s Capitalism, Stupid." "It should be stated plainly: It´s capitalism that is at fault," he writes. Or, what he later calls "the rampant stupidity of capitalism." The answer, he says, is a "democratic socialist society." Fong isn´t

Regulations: When FCC Chairman Ajit Pai announced plans to repeal the Obama administration´s heavy-handed "net neutrality" regulations, critics acted as if the world were coming to an end. Actual consumers, however, aren´t likely to notice any difference, because the "problem" those rules were supposed to solve has always been wildly exaggerated. X This ad will end in 25 seconds. Autoplay: On | Off Net neutrality sounds at first blush like a noble goal. North Korea: President Trump says he´ll put Kim Jong Un´s hermit kingdom on the U.S.´ list of state sponsors of terrorism on Tuesday. The move, Trump said, "should have happened years ago." He couldn´t be more right. The move sends North Korea´s "murderous regime," as Trump calls it, an unambiguous signal: The U.S.´ tolerance of its escalating acts of aggression against its neighbors and the U.S. is at an end. The diplomatic game of patty-cake is over. The listing of North Korea as a state sponsor of terrorism isn´t a toothless act: It automatically triggers a host of sanctions, including "restrictions on

Scandal: Just as the FBI and Justice Department is telling Congress that they haven´t been able to verify anything of importance in the Trump/Russia collusion dossier, Special Counsel Robert Mueller has decided to cast a much wider net in his fishing expedition. Is this a coincidence? Or is it a sign that Mueller also realizes there´s no there there? Shortly after it came to light that the Clinton campaign and the DNC had secretly paid Fusion GPS to assemble the so-called Steele Dossier, which Fusion then tried to fob off on reporters before the election, the press dismissed this bombshell

Tax Reform: With an important political and economic victory on tax cuts tantalizingly close at hands, what is a Republican senator to do? If you´re Sen. Ron Johnson, you try to sabotage the effort for absolutely no good reason. In a statement released Wednesday, the Wisconsin senator complained that the bill wasn´t fair to small businesses that file taxes using the individual tax form — called pass-through businesses. "These businesses truly are the engines of innovation and job creation throughout our economy, and they should not be left behind," Johnson said. Regulation: Like so many bureaucracies, the Obama-era Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, a creation of the Dodd-Frank financial reform bill, began with the very best of intentions. But it has failed to do its job. Following the resignation of CFPB chief Richard Cordray, it´s a good time to consider shutting down the agency altogether. CFPB is often mischaracterized as a "consumer watchdog" in the mainstream media. Consumer attack dog is more like it. Set up to protect consumers from predatory lenders and rogue banks, the CFPB has in fact led to less credit for financially troubled Americans, and is arguably not even legal.

GQ magazine named former NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick its 2017 "Citizen of the Year." In doing so, GQ overlooked NFL Houston Texans´ J.J. Watt, who raised some $37 million for hurricane relief. Many of Kaepernick´s supporters liken his protest to that of boxer Muhammad Ali, who refused to be inducted into the military. The comparison is not well-taken. For whatever reason, Kaepernick chose not to give the magazine an interview, passing up an opportunity to clearly explain the purpose of his protest. At first, Kaepernick insisted his protest was about the alleged epidemic of police brutality against blacks. Shortly after he

Failed Economies: As Zimbabwe locked down following a military coup this week, Venezuela defaulted on its debt. On the surface, these events in these two countries — one African, the other South American — seem to have little in common. But, in fact, they share two very big things: Both are socialist, and both are failed states. Indeed, both nations are near collapse, suffering from hyperinflation, economic contraction and widespread hunger. What´s most alarming about this is that both countries have been, in the recent past, highly successful as capitalist economies. Today they are basket cases, Marxist-inspired dictatorships that were systematically
