How to tell if the Washington
Post has it right on Roy Moore

American Thinker, by James V. DeLong

Original Article

Posted By:Hazymac, 11/14/2017 5:11:47 PM

In assessing the reliability of the Washington Post´s allegations against Judge Roy Moore, it is fair to ask whether the Post or its reporters have any skin in the game. That is, will they suffer significantly if the story turns out to be false? The answer is "no." The story is a free shot. If it succeeds in destroying Moore, the Post will be rewarded by its inside-the-Beltway significant others of both parties. If the story goes down in flames, then those S.O.s, who understand perfectly that the Post is a partisan warrior, will write it off as a good try

My advise to the good people of Alabama. Turn off the news and on December 12th vote for Judge Moore.

I don´t buy these allegations.

If the Deep State succeeds in driving Roy Moore out of an election he should easily win in one of the reddest states in the Union, expect what happened to Judge Moore to multiply like the loaves and fishes after the Sermon on the Mount.

If there is no punishment for publishing fabrications and lies about a candidate in the Deep State´s disfavor, expect the same times one hundred in 2018. We´re in a war. If we lose, our children and grandchildren will take it in the neck (or elsewhere).

Will the Republican Party in its misbegotten efforts to go progressive commit suicide? It looks that way.

With the exception of a few years in the Florida panhandle, I´ve lived in Alabama all my life. I´m 63 and a life-long Republican. I´ve been a political junkie most of my adult life. Not plugged in to Montgomery but know plenty of people who are, including more than a few lawyers and judges whose opinions of Roy Moore range from "don´t much like him" to "absolutely hate him". I have never heard one hint of anything like this involving Roy Moore. Not one thing ever. These allegations may be true, I don´t know. I hope and pray they are not. What I do know is none of it ever came up before and Moore has been politically active in this state for a very long time. I question the source (WaPo), I question the timing, and I question anything involving Gloria Allred.

The End of Prestige
PJ Media, by Richard Fernandez    Original Article

To understand the damage the storm of scandal is creating in Hollywood, the media and Washington one must go back nearly a hundred years to a time when prestige ruled the world. Whenever a small group of people rule over multitudes coercion usually becomes an impractical method of subjugation. The only alternative to physical control, as 19th century Europeans found, was bluff, or prestige as it was then called. Prestige made it possible for a few to govern numerous (and often violent) subjects. Prestige was almost entirely psychological, based on instilling a genuine respect and admiration among the ruled. The technological

The collapse overnight of negotiations to form a new German government is yet another shock to the liberal world order, not of the same magnitude as the Brexit vote or the US presidential election, but of the same character. Chancellor Angela Merkel´s tenure in office is now in jeopardy. After failing to form a coalition between the odd trio of Christian Democrats, Free Democrats and Greens, Merkel may have to call new elections, which are likely to produce the same intractable stalemate as before. There are many ways in which the deep division in German opinion about the migrant flood

Bonn climate talks end with

BONN, Germany — As the first glimmer of dawn appeared across the Rhine River, delegates stumbled out of an all-night negotiating session at this year’s global climate talks, expressing satisfaction Saturday at the progress made toward creating a comprehensive rule book for fighting global warming. The two-week meeting in Bonn, Germany, was billed as a "blue-collar" event designed to hammer out the technical details of the 2015 Paris climate accord. But fears had loomed beforehand that the administration of President Donald Trump, who rejects the Paris agreement, would seek to block any advances seen as counter to American interests. Democrats certainly don’t appear to have an issue with using fear to fundraise. U.S. District Court Judge William Orrick rejected the Trump administration’s argument that the measure only applies to a relatively small pool of money. Orrick also said that Trump cannot set fresh conditions on spending that Congress has previously approved. Monday’s ruling came in lawsuits brought by two California counties, Santa Clara and San Francisco.
