The 23rd annual Conference of the Parties to the 1992 United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change – dubbed COP23 – is being held in Bonn this week, with an "official" U.S. delegation mostly absent from the proceedings. A counter-culture delegation made the trip, but all of their activities are being held on the sidelines of the event. There was some U.S. participation in the formal proceedings. Notably, the president of the U.S. Energy Association, Barry Worthington, gave a speech making the commonsense point that fossil fuels are going to be a dominant source of energy for the foreseeable future,

Press secretary Sarah Sanders didn’t hold back on Twitter Saturday, calling out “liberal elites” over tax cuts.(Tweet) The media and Democrats have been attacking the new tax cuts all week. Mainstream media bias managed to falsely convince many Americans that their taxes were going up when the opposite is true. CNN’s Jake Tapper recently downplayed the effect of an extra $800-900 dollars in a year, saying, ” I think obviously people who are wealthier individuals might see an additional $1,000 or $2,000 a week in their paycheck, but if you’re getting $800, $900 for the year, it might not be a

Saturday on his weekly CNN show, host Michael Smerconish argued that President Donald Trump could become “the most consequential president” of what he called the modern era. “If the pace of change continues for the duration of Trump’s presidency, however long that might be, I think he could become the most consequential president in the modern era,” Smerconish stated. “Consequential meaning most important and significant, having the biggest overall impact.” The “Smerconish” host listed off Trump’s numerous acts thus far in his first year in office, saying Time Magazine “got it wrong” by not naming the president as its Person

There´s no mistaking President Donald Trump´s ´Merry Christmas´ message - he wields it as a weapon against political correctness. For weeks, he´s been liberally sprinkling his public remarks with Christmas tidings. And then pointing it out in case anyone fails to notice. Trump has long promised that this year would be different after what he saw as a trend toward giving the Christian celebration short shrift in favor of a more generic and inclusive ´happy holidays´ message. (Photos) ´Well, guess what? We´re saying ´Merry Christmas´ again,´ Trump announced in October at a Values Voter Summit of conservatives. For all of

President Trump on Saturday took aim at two top FBI officials who have recently been the target of Republican critics. Before the question, how about a few statistics? The 20th century was mankind´s most brutal century. Roughly 16 million people lost their lives during World War I; about 60 million died during World War II. Wars during the 20th century cost an estimated 71 million to 116 million lives. The number of war dead pales in comparison with the number of people who lost their lives at the hands of their own governments. The late professor Rudolph J. Rummel of the University of Hawaii documented this tragedy in his book "Death by Government: Genocide and Mass Murder Since 1900." Some

There are some important things the public doesn´t know about the so-called "Trump dossier," such as whether the FBI used information from the dossier to win court permission to spy on Americans. But the most important question about the dossier is the simplest: Is it true? In a seven-hour interview with the House Intelligence Committee Wednesday, FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe repeatedly declined to answer whether the bureau has been able to verify the substantive allegations in the dossier, or even to identify a substantive allegation that has been corroborated, according to sources familiar with the questioning.

FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe informed House Intelligence Committee investigators this week that former FBI Director James Comey told him President Donald Trump requested his loyalty, a conversation the president has denied having. McCabe, according to CNN, sat this week for over 14 hours of testimony behind closed doors, during which he discussed conversations he had with Comey prior to the president firing the FBI director earlier this year. According to the report, the FBI deputy director testified Comey told him about Trump asking for his loyalty, which suggests McCabe may be able to corroborate Comey´s account. Back in June,

Welcome to Gridlock Central, otherwise known as New York City during the holidays. It helps to remember that you’re not in Kansas anymore — or Manitoba, for that matter. Life will be so much better for yourself and everyone around you if you observe a few basic rules. In other words, walk this way: Keep right. If you’re walking more slowly than the natives — and there’s a good reason for the phrase “a New York minute” — stay to the right on stairs, escalators and sidewalks, so we can step nimbly by you. Separate. Two-by-two worked for Noah’s Ark,

One of 2017´s defining geopolitical slugfests was between heavyweight personalities President Donald Trump and North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un. It was an international standoff that descended into personal name-calling, with Trump labeling Kim "little rocket man" and the U.S. president being described as an "old lunatic" and a "dotard" in return. If the past year were one round in a boxing match, most analysts say there´s only one winner. To date the investigation into the Fusion GPS-manufactured collusion scandal has focused largely on the firm itself, its allies in the press, as well as contacts in the Department of Justice and FBI. However, if a sitting president used the instruments of state, including the intelligence community, to disseminate and legitimize a piece of paid opposition research in order to first obtain warrants to spy on the other party’s campaign, and then to de-legitimize the results of an election once the other party’s candidate won, we’re looking at a scandal that dwarfs Watergate—a story not about a bad man in
