Three UCLA basketball players who were arrested in China for allegedly shoplifting while their team was in the country for a tournament last week were released and placed on a flight home Tuesday, Fox News confirmed. UCLA Men´s Basketball players LiAngelo Ball, Jalen Hill and Cody Riley were arrested after being accused of stealing designer sunglasses from a Louis Vuitton store next to the team’s hotel in Hangzhou. They boarded a plane on Tuesday and are headed back to Los Angeles. The rest of the team flew back last Saturday. Pac-12 Commissioner Larry Scott said Tuesday the matter "has been
It would be a travesty to allow them to play w/o any disciplinary actions by either UCLA, Pac 12, or the NCAA? Plus it would send a terrible message to young aspiring athletes. They have embarrassed the school, NCAA athletics, and the nation. At a minimum a meaningful suspension is in order.
It´s obvious Xi stepped in. Trump showed respect to the Chinese people. Something Obama could never do. If you show respect to the traditions, culture and standing of China in the world they will reciprocate.
Shame on UCLA! The SCHOOL should take charge and take those Boys OFF of the Team for good. They embarrassed the School and themselves. They should not be allowed to act like nothing important happened. But! This is California, so they will probably get a Parade when they return to School!
Are the Chinese racists for arresting three black basketball players? These 3 fools would be kicked out of any reputable school. But again, UCLA is in the California university system and winning basketball games is more important.
The President should not have wasted his breath on this trash...now we have to go with them through the revolving door of ´justice´ as they will be picked up and released, and picked up and released......
Having zero first hand knowledge, I suspect the incident was resolved with the retailer by a private party (UCLA..whomever). The Government, satisfied the matter was settled released the perps. The problem is, those youngsters didn´t learn a darn thing. The Chinese treated them with kid gloves rather than the basic thieves they were. It would have done those kids a service to spend a night or two in jail if for no other reason but to learn there ARE consequences for actions. I respect and thank the Chinese government for handling this as they did. I thank them for not making this some huge diplomatic issue. I do, however, hope that UCLA and the US Government pick up where the Chinese left off. The sooner they learn they aren´t the center of the world, the better life will be for those kids.
A Democratic lawmaker in the U.S. House of Representatives berated President Trump for not spending enough time with his 11-year-old son, Barron. Rep. Steve Cohen (D-TN) made the disgusting charge on New Year´s Eve -- when Trump, first lady Melania and Barron were all actually attending a party together. ´He golfs when he could be reading or be in church or be with his family. Never see him with Barron," Cohen wrote on Twitter. "You´d think he´d be golfing with Dad occasionally but narcissists only engage in activities where they are the show." (Tweet) Cohen -- among a group of Democratic
After serving seven terms as Utah´s senator, Orrin Hatch announced Tuesday he plans to retire. "When the President visited Utah last month, he said I was a fighter. I´ve always been a fighter. I was an amateur boxer in my youth, and I brought that fighting spirit with me to Washington. But every good fighter knows when to hang up the gloves. And for me, that time is soon approaching," he said in a video. The senator said when his term ends he will not seek re-election. "I´m deeply grateful for the privilege you´ve given me to serve as your
A witness who testified before a federal grand jury that handed down indictments of top Trump associates says the president can´t get a fair shake and compared the jury room to a Bernie Sanders rally. The witness claimed two of 20 jurors were wearing ´peace T-shirts,´ and popped off on the jury pool to the New York Post´s Page Six. ´The grand jury room looks like a Bernie Sanders rally,´ the witness said. ´Maybe they found these jurors in central casting, or at a Black Lives Matter rally in Berkeley,´ said the witness.´There was only one white male in the
New York mayor Bill de Blasio chose Vermont Senator-turned-progressive Presidential candidate Bernie Sanders to swear him to his second term this weekend, solidifying a "bromance" de Blasio hopes will translate into Sanders naming him his socialist successor in national politics. But the ceremony was so cold, Bernie Sanders was forced to upgrade his traditionally unkempt look, and he did it with a decidedly un-99%-er coat by the decidedly upmarket Burton outfitters.(Tweet)The septuagenarian Senator wore a $690 Burton 2L LZ down jacket pulled up around his ears as he administered de Blasio´s oath of office in the subzero weather, even though
Sixteen lucky supporters of President Trump closed out 2017 with a moment they will likely never forget.More than one year after a dedicated group of men and women began taking up residence on the Southern bridge any time President Trump was in town, their Commander-in-Chief finally came through in a bag way by inviting a small group of them back to his private club.Secret Service agents arrived at the bridge on Saturday afternoon shortly after President Trump drove by waving at the crowd, circling back to round up 16 lucky individuals and ask them to get in a van down
President Donald Trump is approaching the end of his first year in the White House with an impressive list of accomplishments: a big tax cut, repeal of the Obamacare individual mandate, huge regulatory rollback, judicial appointments including Neil Gorsuch, the Keystone pipeline, Paris Accords withdrawal, ANWR drilling, recognizing Jerusalem as Israel´s capital, and a first bite at immigration reform. It´s a Republican wish list come true – the pony under the Christmas tree, finally, after 28 years of receiving an ugly sweater from Aunt Mabel every year for Christmas. Why are so many so-called Republicans acting as though they received
President Trump, unlike his timorous and tremulous predecessor, has made no bones about his support for Iranians who have revolted against the brutal, repressive, theocratic regime of the mullahs. His Twitter feed, oft-criticized, has been a haven for those intrepid souls protesting and even dying as they challenge the Iranian regime, as Trump has been clear about his desire to see the despotic Iranian regime overthrown. As predictably as the sun rising in the east, the minions of Barack Obama, who abandoned Iranian protesters to their fate in 2009, have surfaced from the depths of their defeated status to slam the
A meta-data study published in the journal "Infant and Child Development" by John A. Barry of University College London’s Institute for Women’s Health, as well as colleagues from other universities, has found that young children tend to prefer toys "typed to their gender," reports PsyPost.According to the abstract, after examining the studies, which were conducted in multiple countries across 36 years, with a significant sample size of 1,600 children (almost evenly divided between boys and girls), the researchers found that "boys played with male-typed toys more than girls did, and girls played with female-typed toys more than boys
EXCLUSIVE–A leaked report provided to Fox News shows how Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei met with political leaders and heads of the country´s security forces to discuss how to tamp down on the deadly nationwide protests. The report covered several meetings up to December 31 and was provided to the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) from what it said were high level sources from within the regime. The meeting notes, which have been translated into English from Farsi, said the unrest has hurt every sector of the country´s economy and “threatens the regime’s security. The first step, therefore,
Democratic activist David Brock has been exposed as one of the key sources of money behind efforts during the 2016 presidential campaign to entice women to accuse Donald Trump of past sexual misconduct. It was only the latest caper for Brock, who spent the 1990s attacking the Clintons before undergoing a political conversion, and devoting his efforts — and other people’s money — to a crusade to destroy Republicans and the conservative media. Brock founded Media Matters for America in 2004. Billed as a “charity” — and exempted from taxes — the group theoretically corrects conservative bias in the media. In
OAKLAND, Calif. — Customers lined up early to purchase recreational marijuana legally for the first time in California as the new year brought broad legalization some two decades after the state was the first to allow pot for medical use. Jeff Deakin, 66, his wife, Mary, and their dog waited all night and were first in a line of 100 people when Harborside dispensary, a longtime medical pot shop in Oakland, opened at 6 a.m. and offered early customers joints for a penny and free T-shirts that read “Flower to the People — Cannabis for All.” “It’s been so long
There’s a lot of people worried the sheer scale and totality of the FBI and DOJ corruption will be buried by the Swamp scum. I’m not one of them. As a ninja level cynic who has spent so much time investigating the deep weeds of DC corruption, this time I can see a difference. (Photo) The Bigger media voices will eventually catch up to the story. Right now the scale of the story is so large, and the consequences so damaging to the Republic, they are scared to call it out… but that won’t last too much longer. Unless they are genuinely all paid political operatives of the UniParty, by the end of this month the sunlight will be so intense their
California will launch the world´s largest regulated commercial market for recreational marijuana on Monday, as dozens of newly licensed stores catering to adults who enjoy the drug for its psychoactive effects open for business up and down the state. It becomes the sixth U.S. state, and by far the most populous, venturing beyond legalized medical marijuana to permit the sale of cannabis products of all types to customers at least 21 years old. Colorado, Washington, Oregon, Alaska and Nevada were the first to introduce recreational pot sales on a state-regulated, licensed and taxed basis. Massachusetts and Maine are on track
Huma Abedin forwarded sensitive State Department emails, including passwords to government systems, to her personal Yahoo email account before every single Yahoo account was hacked, a Daily Caller News Foundation analysis of emails released as part of a lawsuit brought by Judicial Watch shows. Abedin, the top aide to former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, used her insecure personal email provider to conduct sensitive work. This guarantees that an account with high-level correspondence in Clinton’s State Department was impacted by one or more of a series of breaches — at least one of which was perpetrated by a “state-sponsored actor.” The U.S.
Two seemingly contradictory recent Gallup Poll findings sum up what it means to be a woman in the United States who dares to go where only men have gone before: Americans love to think of talented, ambitious women who have overcome obstacles — but the reality of a woman assuming a position of power, particularly over men? That´s not welcome. According to a Gallup finding in early December, Hillary Clinton´s favorability rating has never been lower, having fallen to 36%, more than a year after she lost the presidency to a man who had no discernible skills for the job. But in another Gallup Poll, just a few weeks
House Intelligence Committee Chairman Devin Nunes is blasting the Department of Justice and FBI after officials ignored congressional subpoenas and blew threw a deadline to turn over documents related to the infamous Fusion GPS dossier. In a letter to Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein, Nunes points out that not only did DOJ mislead his Committee about the existense of documents, they also unlawfully failed to comply with congressional requests. "Several weeks ago, DOJ informed the Committee that the basic investigatory documents demanded by the subpoenas, FBI Form FD-302 interview summaries, did not exist. However, shortly before my meeting with you in early
Mitt Romney: Your country needs you. The 2012 Republican presidential nominee has been reluctant to announce a primary challenge to Sen. Orrin G. Hatch of Utah, the longest-serving Republican senator in history. But America needs Romney to step up, to restore dignity to the Senate — and to save the country from the embarrassment Hatch has become. Hatch, long the picture of conservative rectitude, was once a conscientious legislator, even partnering with Ted Kennedy when he thought poor kids were getting a raw deal. But Hatch, the Senate president pro tempore, has undergone a grotesque transformation this year, his 84th on earth
More than a dozen NFL players protested during or right after the national anthem on Sunday, the final weekend of the league’s regular season. Nine Seattle Seahawks players sat or knelt during the anthem prior to the teams’ game, as they have throughout the season. Michael Bennett, Marcus Smith, Frank Clark, Dion Jordan and others were among those demonstrating, The Associated Press reported. Tennessee Titans wide receiver Rishard Matthews remained off the field during the national anthem before his team’s game, while his teammates, Brian Orakpo and Jurrell Casey, raised their fists once the anthem ended. Kenny Stills of the
MSNBC Host Chris Matthews runs an at times openly derisive and brazenly sexist news operation that has led at least some staffers to describe themselves as victims of “battered wives syndrome,” according to three of his show’s guests and two former producers who spoke exclusively to The Daily Caller. Two former NBC producers independently alleged Matthews would rate the looks of his female guests on a scale and said Matthews was so abusive that staff joked about being battered women. The interviews in total paint Matthews as a tyrant liable to fly off the handle at the slightest mistake, who was
The Centers for Disease Control (CDC), which I affectionately refer to as the Diseased Centers of Control, have conducted a study showing that black men make better parents than white men. The study, conducted in 2013, came to light in a recent Washington Post article on the Post´s favorite topic – you guessed it! – of racism. The study was conducted by the CDC´s Division of Vital Statistics, centering on how involved fathers are in the lives of their children. It found the following: 1) Thirty-five percent of white fathers who don´t live with their children do not eat meals
One of Hillary Clinton’s wealthy pals paid $500,000 in an unsuccessful effort to fund women willing to accuse President Trump of sexual misconduct before the 2016 election, The New York Times reported Sunday. Susie Tompkins Buell, the founder of Esprit Clothing and a major Clinton campaign donor for many years, gave the money to celebrity lawyer Lisa Bloom who was working with a number of Trump accusers at the time, according to the paper’s bombshell report. (Snip) Former Clinton nemesis turned Clinton operative David Brock also donated $200,000 to the effort through a nonprofit group he founded, the paper reported
The festive cold snap and Storm Dylan’s raging gales have brought a sharp dose of snowy winter misery to our shores. But if that seems bad enough, imagine our temperatures plummeting to such bone-aching lows that British rivers freeze for months at a time. Our streets would become impassable ice sheets, industry would grind to a halt, vital supplies would be stranded, hospitals overwhelmed and power supplies fail under the unprecedented demand. Similarly lethal chaos has occurred before, in the harshest period of a centuries-long European cold snap called the Little Ice Age. Between the 17th and early 19th centuries,
It´s not the prices at a shoe shop in Ramallah that will keep tourists out — it´s the demand for an official apology before entering. A sign recently posted outside the shop, shared on Twitter by COGAT, the Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories, said any British or American citizens who wish to enter must apologize first. "To all British and American citizens," the sign reads. "Before entering, you should offer your apologies and hold responsibility for the Balfour´s [sic] Declaration and Trump´s dirty decision which has caused all the pain and suffering for the Palestinians since its declaration till this
After decades of ignoring, embracing and enabling rampant sexual abuse in Hollywood, some of its biggest male (and female) stars plan to wear black at Sunday´s Golden Globe awards as a protest against Harvey Weinstein and those like him. Male actors have decided to join forces with their female peers who will protest sexual harassment by wearing black to the 2018 Golden Globes.A number of high profile actors including Dwayne Johnson, Tom Hiddleston and Armie Hammer will sport black on the Globes red carpet according to their stylist Ilaria Urbinanti. After receiving many questions on the matter, Urbinanti took to
