If one reads the original Washington Post article on Judge Moore’s supposed harassment of underage “girls” with an open mind, one will conclude that Judge Moore is completely innocent, and that he is the victim of Fake News. He is an evangelical Christian. This will not do, in the eyes of the never-trumpers, the gay mafia, the pink-hat feminists, the atheists, and the censorious anti-freespeechers on the major campuses.

When I was 17, I dated, long term, a 32-year old male and never considered myself to be "sexually abused." Now, almost 60 years later, my 48 year old marriage is to a man 9 years my senior.

WHAT is the big deal? Isn´t it time to redefine "sexual abuse" in many cases?

The entire Roy Moore thing boils down to this

“If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it. The lie can be maintained only for such time as the State can shield the people from the political, economic and/or military consequences of the lie. It thus becomes vitally important for the State to use all of its powers to repress dissent, for the truth is the mortal enemy of the lie, and thus by extension, the truth is the greatest enemy of the State.” Josef Goebbels, Minister of Public Enlightenment and Propaganda of the Third Reich, 1933 – 1945

What irritates me is all the so-called Republicans running like rats. Apparently, the swamp includes many that people thought were conservative and had backbones.

Professor Tipler cites the accusers three marriages, three bankruptcies but doesn´t mention her run ins with the law(all minor) or that she has accused several pastors of sexually harassing her.
I would not have voted for Moore last month but I would now that he is the candidate.

It´s all about fear of the leftist media, #4. That´s how I see it, anyway. They either want to remain in its good graces or avoid becoming targets themselves.

It is relatively easy for Democrats to be "principled" and inflexible, no matter how extreme their positions, because they know they have the MSM and a debased popular culture behind them.

Totally agree with Tipler. Who says an age difference is a crime? I bet if you go back in history, you´ll find a few of our former presidents married much younger women. As mentioned earlier. What if this was true and this girl lied about her age which is often the case with young teen girls wanting to look and appear older.

A couple of questions...Did she have a father present in her life? What was her family life growing up?
Furthermore, over the years with all her financial problems, why did she decide to wait until now to come forward?

On many levels, this doesn´t pass the smell test.

With the vote a month away, and the ballot fixed: this is not the time to litigate the merits of this "matter". There will be ample time to do that after December 12th.

What is known is that Democrat Jones must be denied the seat, and McConnell GOPe and Democrat UniParty tactics must be rebuffed. That, Alabama voters can do.

When I served as a juror and the prosecution had a witness testify to hearing a disturbance , thump on the wall, at a time completely unrelated to the timeline they were constructing of the crime they were presenting, it detracted from their case in my eyes.

The inclusion of three examples of what many consider gentlemanly behavior serves to do the same.

Watch old B&W TV and look at the top shows of the late 50´s and early 60´s and you will see unquestionable evidence that as a society we saw nothing wrong with a late teen female dating an early 30 something man. I do think that has changed but it´s not exactly 10 commandment material such as adultery and murder of which infanticide is a reprehensible subset.

The last known Civil War widow, Maudie Hopkins (1914-2008), died less than a decade ago. She married her 86 year old husband in 1934 when she was 19. (The last Civil War veteran died in 1959.)

Dating or marrying much younger women--or men, if one is a cougar--isn´t common, but is hardly a rare thing. The statute of limitations, save for murder, exists for a good reason. It´s easy to believe that Judge Moore was attracted to younger women when he was a relatively young man, and there´s nothing wrong with it or illegal about it. (This LDotter is not married, and has dated women from ten years older to thirty years younger. There are advantages and disadvantages to each alternative.)

There is a 100% chance that the charges against Judge Moore at this late date are politically motivated; he should not lose the election because of it. If his Democrat opponent seems to be ahead, let him have his brief moment of glory. When Judge Moore gets to the Senate, he will not be beholden to anyone but Alabama voters. The hypocritical establishment Republicans who reject him should themselves be rejected. Alabama is still a red state. Moore will carry it. And he will cast conservative votes in the U.S. Senate.

I learned early that a reader can NEVER trust the Washington Post. It is filled with careful lies, half lies, half truth and a blatant liberal and progressive slant in every story. Even science coverage and book reviews have been corrupted. You can trust me on this. I was forced to read this rag every day of my career and it made me sick at heart to see how corrupt journalism has become. I spent a career in government where I knew the truth and witnessed reporting corrupted to serve the liberal agenda. The timing of the Moore charges stinks of lies and propaganda.

Until now I have unquestioningly supported Roy Moore, because I appreciated his stance on the 10 Commandments. Now I am trying to learn more, since there is no way to prove or disprove the allegations against him. What is a curious person to do when they don´t want to jump on a bandwagon whether from left or right?

Well, what do others say about him? Here is an article from September, written by one of his law school professors. Not a liberal, but a conservative and director of a Christian prison ministry. The article is titled "A lesson on Roy Moore from his former law school professor" and here is the link:

I have also now listened to several more talks by Judge Moore and am inclined to think that his interest in girls was (at least as a 30-something professional) not quite cool. Doesn´t mean he did anything illegal. But the impressions of his professor and some of his fumbling initial responses leave a distaste in my mouth. Wishing now, with Laura Ingraham, that Mo Brooks had been supported by the GOP from the start.

May God give discernment to the good people of Alabama, and may He bless and protect our beloved nation.

In Hollywood, old actors brag about dating younger women. The ex husband of one of the Kardashian women is dating a 19 year old woman. He is 32. No one seems to think anything is wrong with that. Prince Charles married Diana when she was 19. He had to be dating her when she was younger. No one seemed bothered by that. Judge Moore was dating women; that is not harassment or abuse. Bill Clinton abused women. The Democrats defended him to the end. They still consider him their hero. Hillary stayed with him. Don´t get me started.
