Turns out Trump didn’t
ruin America’s economy

New York Post, by Editorial

Foreign tourism to New York City is set to rise 3.6 percent this year — defying yet another of the many doomsday predictions about Donald Trump’s presidency. Back in February, the city tourism agency said Trump’s “travel ban and related rhetoric” would mean a drop of 300,000 visitors this year. But the NYC & Co. prophecy proved false. (Snip) In fact, the Dow has climbed more than 25 percent since Hillary Clinton conceded. And the first two full quarters of Trump’s term both saw growth of 3 percent or more. Oops. More recently, Trump’s cutbacks of money to help folks sign up for ObamaCare brought warnings

Comments:
The only predictions of a doomed economy in one´s area are where the dRATS rule the roost. Bill de Blasio is a prime bottom feeder to get all the poop he can eat from the people.

A person I work with and we happen to schedule hotel conferences for non profits, would not shut up how bad things were going to be. No one would be traveling anymore, Trump was going to ruin the all tourism in American because people would be afraid to come here. Companies would cancel conferences, since he was President and on and on. It was extra hard for me to keep quiet. There is no point to try to argue or quote facts with these liberals I work with. SF liberals are deaf to any other point of view.

How could tax cutting and deregulating hurt the economy? I knew right away the economy would take off, because I lived through the Reagan Boom.

Dow Jones Industrial Avg is up 24% since the election. My personal investment portfolio is widely diversified, not all in stocks, so I am only up 15% or so since Jan, since I have moved to more guaranteed investments these days, lowered risk gets lower rewards, good trade off at my age.

Very pleased with the economy. Retirement getting more comfortable all the time, little to worry about.

On Sunday protesters clashed with police in Tunis. Some young men threw stones and police used tear gas, local reports said. The protests were staged in the run-up to the seventh anniversary of the ousting of President Zine El Abiding Ben Ali in 2011, an event that signaled the beginning to the Arab Spring. Most in the region are not looking back at those momentous events. Instead they are dealing with the aftereffects and many governments appear to hope that not discussing the Arab spring will mean the causes of the frustration that led to it will go away. Washington - U.S. President Donald Trump on Monday thanked the ruler of Qatar for “action to counter terrorism and extremism in all forms,” the White House said in a statement that suggested a warming of ties between the two countries. In June, Trump had called on Qatar to stop funding groups that commit terrorism, saying the Gulf nation had historically done so “at a very high level.” Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain, who along with Qatar are members of the Gulf Cooperation Council, plus non-GCC member Egypt cut off diplomatic, travel and trade ties with Qatar last year, accusing it of supporting militants and

If actions speak louder than words, President Trump’s actions Monday on Martin Luther King Jr. Day were restrained, amid persistent accusations of racism. In a sharp departure from his predecessors on the national day of service, Mr. Trump spent the bulk of the holiday at his golf club in West Palm Beach, Florida. President George W. Bush typically marked the holiday with a public event such as attending a service honoring King at a Baptist church in Landover, Maryland, or greeting volunteers at a public high school in Washington. President Barack Obama normally celebrated the King holiday by taking his daughters to serve food

Why would my 22-year-old brother be calling so early on a Saturday morning? I’d ignored the first call. But the second time the phone rang, I picked it up. He was panicking, his voice trembling uncharacteristically: He’d just received the emergency alert warning of a ballistic missile that was heading for Hawaii, where I’m from, and where he and my family still live. “THIS IS NOT A DRILL,” the alert read.
