Democrats back military veterans as
candidates in their battle to retake the House

ABC News, by MaryAlice Parks

Exactly one year before the 2018 midterm elections, one of Democrats´ key strategies to retake the House is coming into focus. In a wide range of districts around the country, Democrats are placing their bets on military veterans. (Snip) Party officials acknowledge that when they were looking for strong recruits to replenish the Democratic party bench this year, their teams often sought candidates with military experience. But, they argue, veterans have also stepped up in droves and decided to run on their own since the presidential election last year. The DCCC expects 30 or 40 of its candidates next year will be veterans,

Comments:
Be aware of the dRATs latest despicable action to US who served as "props" for their campaigns. (How much benefits, training, pay increases, etc., were we given under 0bama?) I wouldn´t fall for it anymore than dRATS trying to use my Hispanic surname as reason to join them. Jackasses! I'll say it again. Despicable!

Their Trojan Horse Strategy.

We´ve seen what Obama did to the military. These are his and the Dems ill willed spawn. Remember with the lying left, it´s all about the packaging. They use a lot of lipstick on a lot of pigs.

Tammy Duckworth of Illinois is the example of what the Dems are bringing. Don´t let them bamboozle you.

There´s an element of the voting public that will fall for this tactic again and represent a real risk to Republican control of Congress.

There are some in the GOPe who would welcome that change because they could go back to partying down with their Dem buddies without having to make any hard choices.

John McCain is a veteran war hero. John Kerry served in Vietnam, doncha know.

How has that worked out?

The Dems and RINOs have perfected the art of posing for the elections, and then reverting to form once that "inconvenience" has been overcome. In this environment of healthy cynicism about the UniParty Establishment, its media lackeys, and their dirty tricks: voters should have little problem seeing through this veneer of patriotism.

Trump won the military vote by a sizable majority. Obama used members of our military as photo-ops, when he wasn´t busy hollowing the military out. Thousands of mid-level officers were mustered out during the Obama years. Since I don´t want to give ABC News the click, I wonder if any of the above was mentioned in the article? I doubt it.

Washington - Satellite images taken this month of a North Korean naval shipyard indicate Pyongyang is pursuing an “aggressive schedule” to build its first operational ballistic missile submarine, a U.S. institute reported on Thursday. Washington-based 38 North, a North Korea monitoring project, cited images taken on Nov. 5 showing activity at North Korea’s Sinpo South Shipyard. “The presence of what appear to be sections of a submarine’s pressure hull in the yards suggests construction of a new submarine, possibly the SINPO-C ballistic missile submarine - the follow-on to the current SINPO-class experimental ballistic missile

Officials at the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs decided in September to put local VA officials in charge of $264 million that had previously been set aside for specific programs to help homeless veterans. VA officials in Washington say the directive will help the agency’s medical directors around the country respond to the changing needs of veterans as it seeks to improve medical care and prevent suicides. But the shift has generated concern among L.A. County officials, who say it could result in about $34 million being diverted from paying case managers who help homeless veterans find permanent housing to fund other programs

Cats can often be playful, craving attention from their owners. But sometimes, they would just prefer to be left alone - as a series of hilarious photographs show. The pictures shared online feature moggies looking very judgmental when their owners try to dress them up in an array of outfits, including a rabbit hat and a polka dot tie. Others appear annoyed about having their picture taken, or when the owner tries to cuddle up to them. Staff say an unwritten "creep list" of lawmakers and other Capitol Hill employees known for unwanted or inappropriate sexual behavior is being circulated through word-of-mouth, according to a new report in CNN. The list keeps track of the male members most known for their inappropriate behavior in the offices, where one former House aide said that many men "have no self-control" around their female colleagues. More than 50 Hill staffers and lawmakers told CNN that they have experienced sexual harassment or unwanted advances while working in Congress. Lawmakers are beginning to address the issue.

Saudi Arabia has embarked on another foreign policy adventure by intervening in Lebanon´s delicate sectarian power balance to undermine Iranian-backed Hezbollah. Yet even working with the U.S. and Israel in trying to isolate the group, the Saudis could end up being little more than a minor inconvenience for militants whose tentacles have stretched from their southern Lebanon heartlands in recent years. Hezbollah is a regional force, with combatants in Yemen, Iraq and helping President Bashar al-Assad prevail in Syria. In a crowded field, Education Secretary Betsy DeVos has emerged as the least popular member of President Donald Trump’s administration. Her support of the for-profit college industry at the expense of students is unlikely to improve her standing. Under President Barack Obama, the government took steps to impose greater accountability on the industry and protect students from predatory schools. The policy is both just and cost-effective: For-profit schools saddle students with more debt and lead to higher default rates than traditional schools. In 2016, the department issued the gainful-employment rule, which requires any

According to a report released on Monday by Democratic staff of the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee, the administration has not provided the committee with any “definitive real estate costs or requirements.” In addition, the report claims Trump’s administration has not outlined how many U.S. citizen landowners will be affected by construction of the barrier, nor a timeline or costs for land seizure.

Washington - The Pentagon approved a gender-reassignment surgery for an active-duty military member, defense officials said on Tuesday, four months after President Trump abruptly announced a ban on transgender people serving in the military. The surgery is the latest setback to Mr. Trump’s effort to put a ban in place. Two weeks ago, a federal judge temporarily blocked the ban, ruling that the justification for it was suspect and most likely unconstitutional. Even before the ruling, officials at the Defense Department had been slow-walking Mr. Trump’s orders, telling transgender members of the military that they could

The U.S. Air Force said Tuesday that an executive order signed by President Donald Trump doesn´t solve its massive pilot shortage as intended. Trump´s order allows the Air Force to recall up to 1,000 retired pilots to active duty to ensure it has enough aviators who are combat-ready. By law, all branches of the military are typically only allowed to bring back 25 officers at a time. But the Air Force is short 2,000 pilots as of last week, and pilot recalls aren´t sufficient to meet needs. "We appreciate the flexibility, but we want pilots with more than just a three-year commitment," an Air Force spokesman told Fox News on Tuesday.

On a recent trip to Chisinau to investigate the political situation in the tiny former Soviet republic, I had the pleasure of meeting with a very distinguished gentleman, a former colonel in the Moldovan armed forces, who fought in the war against pro-Russian separatists in the early 1990s during the Transdniester conflict, a small strip of land bordering Ukraine which currently houses a large Soviet weapons depot and a few thousand Russian troops. I’ll just call him “the Colonel".

The allegations by five women that Roy Moore pursued and sexually molested teenage girls while he was in his 30s are disgusting, and disqualify him to serve in the United States Senate. Conservatives should be outraged at Moore for his loathsome conduct. But they should also be outraged at the man who helped put Moore on the ballot and is in the process of destroying the Trump presidency: Stephen K. Bannon.
