They have come to Bonn, Germany, some 25,000 diplomats, scientists, and lobbyists from some 200 nations to put flesh on the bare bones of the climate agreement signed two years ago. That’s when members of the congregation, gathered in Paris, pledged to limit further global warming to 2 degrees Celsius above pre-industrial levels (a target few knowledgeable observers believe is attainable). It was Fiji’s turn to play host, but the congregation had swollen to a size the small island-nation could not accommodate them all. The meetings, budgeted to cost $136.3 million and scheduled to run until November 17, began on a high

Wow, this author does an amazing job of both bashing Trump and praising him for achieving results of which the author approves. I, also, approve of reduced CO2 emissions, I just oppose government regulation to achieve it. I am not convinced by global warming arguments that increasing CO2 emissions indefinitely is a bad thing. I am, however, convinced by simple logic that at SOME point increasing the amount of CO2 in the atmosphere will have negative consequences. Of course, I am also convinced that as we approach that point we will make changes to correct for it.

I have yet to find an explanation as to how Carbon Dioxide behaves as a so called Green House gas. I am talking about the physical/chemical actions which cause the gas to behave the way it is claimed. Further, "science" has not produced a model which will accurately predict future temperature changes. We have become very good at developing predictive algorithms but can´t get a decent one for "global warming/climate change". The bottom line, we don´t understand what the variables are and don´t know what the problem is. How do you fix something that you don´t understand. I guess they want live sacrifice and burnt offerings.

No reason to bother spending one additional cent to reduce CO2 emissions. CO2 is a beneficial gas which helps all green plants to grow, and is well below the optimum level in the atmosphere to obtain best tree and crop growth rates.

As far as actual pollution - sure, up to a reasonable point, we need to clean up pollution. But now cars emit cleaner air from the tailpipe than they suck in through the air cleaner in some of the more polluted places in the world like Beijing. Of course, the cars in Beijing do not meet US pollution standards, so it doesn´t actually work there.

The MMGW scam continues, regardless of the facts.

The Second Amendment is under siege now more than ever. Every day, we see more assaults made on our Constitutional rights to keep and bear arms. Radical gun-grabbing organizations like Moms Demand Action, Everytown for Gun Safety, and the Coalition to Stop Gun Violence are just a few of the national organizations that seek to take away law abiding citizens’ guns, and it’s not much better at the university level. There’s a Student Pledge Against Gun Violence and a campaign to “Keep Guns Off Campus.” In many cases, students cannot exercise their recognized rights just because they step foot on campus. A Steve Bannon–backed candidate turns out to have some serious baggage. Who could have seen that coming? Roy Moore is just the latest in a line of flawed candidates whom Bannon has zealously elevated, only to cry “Establishment!” when their flaws are laid bare. Moore, Paul Nehlen, Kelli Ward: All satisfy the thumb-in-their-eye wing of the conservative movement on the way to embarrassing defeats. Nehlen challenged House speaker Paul Ryan in the 2016 primary, but is quickly becoming a perennial candidate. “If a picture is worth a thousand words, a few of the words that describe this picture might be:

A FBI informant who gave the government information about a Russian bribery plot implicated in the sale of U.S. uranium rights tried unsuccessfully last year to recover upwards of $700,000 in bribes he said he was authorized to pay as part of the FBI investigation. William D. Campbell has emerged now as the key figure in a congressional probe into Russia’s 2010 purchase of U.S. uranium rights and then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s role in approving the deal. His identity had been shielded for weeks, but court records obtained by The Washington Times, as well as a report by Reuters, identified the

The owner of pickup truck that drew attention this week because of a profane anti-Trump sticker was arrested in Houston on Thursday on an outstanding warrant. Karen Fonseca was arrested about 2 p.m. on an outstanding fraud warrant issued in August by the Rosenberg, Texas, Police Department, Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office records show. Mike Fonseca, her husband, posted her $1,500 bond Thursday night and she was released an hour later, Houston´s KHOU-TV reported. A sheriff’s spokesman didn´t respond to a message seeking details about the warrant. Previously, Fort Bend County Sheriff Troy Nehls threatened Fonseca with a disorderly conduct charge over the decal.

Yglesias is quick to point out that he was in high school when the Monica Lewinsky affair and Clinton’s impeachment went down. “The time is right for a reevaluation,” Yglesias writes. That´s the dream of many in the GOP. Under that scenario, a Republican write-in candidate would then be able to keep the GOP seat in one of the nation´s reddest states. But there´s a problem. The Tax Bills Are Worth It

There are, in essence, three things wrong with the federal tax code. They are, in descending order of importance, that corporations pay an absurdly high rate; that the code is a labyrinthine mess that turns the work of paying one’s taxes into a nightmare; and that marginal individual rates have in recent years become punitive, with higher-income payers bearing most of the punishment. The tax reform bills currently in the House and Senate don’t eliminate any of these problems. But both bills address all three problems—and particularly the corporate tax rate—in ways that will encourage growth and investment. The most significant provision

President Trump´s Middle East policy is simple: Back our friends and scare the hell out of our enemies, and negotiate where possible with our competitors like Russia and China. By and large it´s working, unlike the catastrophically failed polices of the previous two administrations. Trump did what he said he would do and succeeded. You wouldn´t know that from the #fakenews media. Start with Israel: The Muslim strategy to destroy Israel hasn´t envisioned war--not at least since 1973--because Israel in all cases would win. Instead, the objective is to ring Israel with missiles and force Israel to retaliate against missile attacks
