I have to write this quickly because any minute now, Senate candidate Roy Moore might quit or be cleared or might simply be blown out of the headlines by some fresh violent atrocity that the media will either attempt to exploit in an effort to destroy our second amendment or attempt to distort so we don´t notice that every killer involved happened to be named Mohammed. At my back, I always hear the news cycle´s winged chariot drawing near. I´m in a hotel in New York, and this morning over my covfefe in the lounge, I looked up at a television
I´ve looked over quite a few of the allegations, accusations and demands for surrender.
It´s disgusting that a man who has served justice his whole life is being railroaded before anything is proven by evidence. All there is, is accusation - after 40 years - and with no evidence of predatory behavior since then to establish probable cause. Disgusting.
When I look back at how democrats are protected, even if guilty by evidence and repeated offenses, the contrast tells me this is not the country it should be. And the stain on it, the swamp of noxious behavior and enslaving attitude can be found in our government, our press, and in academia and entertainment. All traitors - enemies of freedom.
If I lived in Alabama, I´d vote for Roy Moore. If any man is known by his enemies, he is. And his enemies are far worse than they accusations they so glibly trot out of the swampish hell and display for all to see.
I´m in a hotel in New York, and this morning over my covfefe in the lounge, I looked up at a television and saw a Chyron announcing that someone I´d never heard of was finally going to "break her silence." And I thought, "Oh, please don´t." Silence has become a precious commodity and we need as much of it as we can get. Otherwise, it´s all noise and outrage and outrage at the noise and noise about the outrage. As far as I´m concerned, you should only break your silence in case of emergency.
And it I lived in Alabama, I’d vote for Roy Moore. It would be worth it to put the saintly ones in their proper places. And teach young girls to not be pleased that an “older man” finds them attractive. Most of us have known that was bunkum since we first put on lipstick.
There is no way to prove or disprove these allegations which is why they are so effective. If Hillary was in charge of Moore´s campaign she would manage to turn the accuser into a tramp. If there really is a recording of a WaPo reporter offering money for an accusation then the ball game is over. Barring that all we have is the shady background of the first accuser casting doubt on her veracity.
I´ve been looking into it was shocked to find that this was not the first case in human history where an older man found attractive, sexually mature teenage girls to be, well, attractive. In fact, it has happened a few times before, most recently in 18th century France, but the culprit escaped prosecution and sought asylum in Italy, where - unbeknownst to the police! - he also found attractive, sexually mature teenage girls to be, well, attractive. I know this is shocking news, but: "metoo"!!!
For decades, the man has been in politics, a judge, and a Chief Justice of the Alabama Supreme Court. And maybe many years ago he was 32 and had a temporary thing for kissing teenage girls who seemed mature enough to consent....
And all this hits the fan with four different girls coming out at the same time?
NO ACCIDENT. Dirty politics. I´d vote for Moore just because I don´t like political ambush. It´s what keeps good people from running for office.
Maybe back in those years in Alabama a girl of 14 was considered not that young when it came to considering hanky panky. Times have changed on that score as have a lot of other things in Alabama. Just saying?
NEW YORK—Every day somebody howls for the shutdown of a website, the squelching of a Twitter account, the nuking of a Facebook page, the removal of a video or a screed or a manifesto, all in the name of…uh…well, it depends, but mostly in the name of saving the world. We’ve become a nation of scolds and censors and digital night-riders, trying to get people removed from the internet. Many of these modern-day bowdlerizers are the same people crowing about “net neutrality,” whatever that is (and believe me, I’ve tried to figure it out), and demanding that Disney give up the
Google has quietly inaugurated a system in which, when you search for a news site, they subjectively evaluate the site for you, including, in some cases, highly selective “fact checks.” I learned about this from the Daily Caller, which is incensed: "Google, the most powerful search engine in the world, is now displaying fact checks for conservative publications in its results. No prominent liberal site receives the same treatment. And not only is Google’s fact-checking highly partisan — perhaps reflecting the sentiments of its leaders — it is also blatantly wrong, asserting sites made “claims” they demonstrably never made. When searching for a media
Thursday on ABC’s The View, co-hosts Sunny Hostin and Joy Behar sparred with co-host Meghan McCain and guest host, actress and singer Keke Palmer, over the trustworthiness of the media. Behar and Hostin complained that no one trusted the media anymore, when they were only trying to give “the truth” and “the facts.” Hostin compared Trump to a “dictator” while Whoopi Goldberg hyperbolically added, we’ve never had a president that was “actively trying to kill the press off” like Trump. The discussion began after Whoopi announced Trump wanted to make America’s libel laws easier for people to sue media organizations, after the
Anyone remember the early 1990s when the Clinton Administration discovered to its horror that it couldn’t spend like the horny drunken sailors we know them to have been because the bond market would instantly punish the economy? James Carville famously said that if he was reincarnated, he wanted to come back to earth as the bond market. Hold that thought in mind as we survey the current economic scene a little more closely. Liberals told us that the corporate tax cut bill was a sop to the rich, etc. Yet lots of solid economic studies found that our high corporate income
Trump has really done it now. He’s spoken candidly again, referring to several nations a “s—hole” countries, according to media accounts. CNN is having a complete meltdown. Of course, if all of these countries are so wonderful, why is there such an outcry against sending aliens from those countries back home? Meanwhile, we know that Trump’s approval ratings are miserable. He’s lost ground among just about every demographic group, except. . . Wait, what? Who??!! No, this can’t be right. "From Ron Brownstein’s article in The Atlantic today: Among African Americans and Hispanics, reactions to Trump depend more on gender than age
Star reporter and celebrity scion Ronan Farrow has left NBC for HBO, months after executives at the Peacock Network spiked his explosive expose on Hollywood heavy hitter Harvey Weinstein. The departure is an embarrassment for NBC News, which has been battling accusations that it had ulterior motives for suppressing reporting on sexual harassment. It’s a happy ending for Farrow, though, who had ended up publishing his Weinstein report in the prestigious magazine The New Yorker. He will produce documentaries for HBO, long considered the gold standard in that department. “Ronan Farrow’s extraordinary, revelatory reporting for The New Yorker has helped to propel
The Pentagon´s senior enlisted member has drawn the line against ISIS: "surrender or die!" In a blunt warning to the remaining ISIS fighters, Army Command Sgt. Maj. John Wayne Troxell said the shrinking band of militants could either surrender to the U.S. military or face death. “ISIS needs to understand that the Joint Force is on orders to annihilate them,” he wrote in a forceful message on Facebook. “So they have two options, should they decide to come up against the United States, our allies and partners: surrender or die!” The Pentagon´s senior enlisted member has drawn the line against ISIS: "surrender
A Rhode Island rap artist whose songs include a tune titled "Sell Drugsz" was sentenced to three years in prison Wednesday -- for selling drugs. Thirty-year-old Michael Persaud, a.k.a. Montana Millz, pleaded guilty in October to drug-trafficking charges. According to prosecutors, Persaud sold and delivered nearly three-quarters of an ounce of fentanyl and two grams of heroin to an undercover East Providence police detective between October 2016 and February 2017. Authorities added that on at least two occasions, Persaud´s girlfriend drove him to the delivery site. Prosecutors also said that police seized an additional ounce-and-a-half of fentanyl during a search of a Providence
If I was a Democrat, like everyone at NBC and noted Cruise Director Bill Kristol, I’d want Oprah Winfrey to run for president too. She’s got all the qualifications to be a Dem candidate - she’s vacuous, she embraces all the required liberal taboos, and she hates the right people - that is, people like you. And, best of all, Oprah isn’t one of the horde of weirdos, losers, and mutations already threatening to run. She knows how to string a sentence together, which is useful. Oprah wouldn’t be a human gaffe machine like Touchy Joe Biden. She’s also not 87
No, you weren´t being paranoid. Everything you ever suspected about Twitter censoring right-wing opinions through "shadow bans" is true. In his latest sting, conservative muckracker James O´Keefe caught eight current and former Twitter employees admitting on camera that they engage in the practice. Twitter tries to present itself as a politically neutral media platform, but as this latest Project Veritas bombshell video confirms, it is anything but. Abhinav Vadrevu, a former Twitter software engineer, explained how “shadow banning” works at a San Francisco restaurant on January 3, 2018. “One strategy is to shadow ban so you have ultimate control," he explained. "The idea
The FBI used the unverified anti-Trump dossier alleging collusion between the Trump campaign and the Russians to obtain the warrant from the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act court (FISA), investigative journalist Sara Carter reported Wednesday. Representatives of four committees — the House Intelligence Committee, Senate Intelligence Committee, House Judiciary Committee, and Senate Judiciary Committee -- have been able to examine FISA documents in a secure room at the Justice Department, according to the Washington Examiner´s Byron York. "They were not allowed to take the documents out of the room or to copy them, but they could make notes. They thus know the answer
CLEARWATER — The Baptist preacher stepped to the stage, his image projected on two mega screens behind him, and looked out at nearly 2,000 parishioners filling his worship center. "Scientology is a cult," Calvary Church Pastor Willy Rice said into his microphone Wednesday evening. "Scientology is dangerous. It is dangerous to those within and without, and Scientology should be exposed and opposed, not only by committed Christians but by moral, law abiding citizens who care about human rights and human justice everywhere." Since Scientology settled in Clearwater in 1975 under a false name, then later declared the city its international spiritual headquarters, there
OH MY. Whatever legacy Senator John McCain might have had left, it’s taking a brutal beating with today’s stunning revelations via this report out today: Fusion GPS Admits They Used John McCain to Pass Anti-Trump Dossier to Obama-Era Intel Agencies The founders of the controversial opposition research firm Fusion GPS admitted that they helped the researcher hired to compile the infamous, largely discredited 35-page dossier on President Donald Trump to share the document with Sen. John McCain. The goal of providing the dossier to McCain, the Fusion GPS founders explained, was to pass the information contained in the questionable document
Democratic California Sen. Dianne Feinstein suggested a “bad cold” may have impaired her mental faculties and caused her to release Fusion GPS founder Glenn Simpson’s testimony before the Senate Judiciary Committee without telling committee chairman Chuck Grassley. Feinstein published Simpson’s testimony on Tuesday, catching Republicans by surprise. Simpson’s testimony, taken during August of last year, covered his firm’s role in producing the infamous anti-Trump dossier for the Clinton campaign and Democratic National Committee. Feinstein, 84, expressed regret on Wednesday for keeping Sen. Grassley in the dark, and suggested it was because of a “bad cold.” “The one regret I have is that I
President Donald Trump, frustrated with America´s continued responsibility for immigrants fleeing Third World natural disasters, asked members of Congress Thursday in vulgar terms why the United States had to shoulder such a burden. ´Why are we having all these people from s***hole countries come here?´ Trump said, according to two people who were briefed on the meeting and then leaked the comment to The Washington Post. Trump was reportedly speaking about Haitians and citizens of various African nations. Instead, he said, the U.S. should seek to assimilate people from countries like Norway, whose prime minister he met with a day earlier. Unlike Haiti
The first community organizer to become president has managed to anger community groups so much with his planned personal monument, aka “presidential center,” that part of the plan was just scrapped. (snip) The original plan would have grabbed a treasured part of Chicago’s park system, the Midway (site of Chicago’s World’s Fair) for a two-story garage. The group Save the Midway sprang up to protect the historic public park land from a private developer (the Obama Foundation) appropriating the land for a private purpose (the Obama Center will not be part of the National Archives System) The embarrassment is palpable:
Sometimes you just cant win. Former president Obama is finalizing plans for his Obama Presidential Center, which will be built in Chicago, Illinois and will be within a stone’s throw of the University of Chicago.(Snip) The library’s design and location has been a source of controversy itself within the Chicago community. In a recent letter, over 100 members of the University of Chicago faculty and dozens of community groups strongly condemn Obama’s plan. Why? Because, according to the professors, the Obama Presidential Center wastes millions of taxpayer dollars in an already broke state, destroys a public park and is “socially regressive” to
Washington state’s Democratic Governor Jay Inslee warned there was “just 59 days” to save future generations from “an endless cycle of crop-killing droughts one year, and rivers spilling their banks the next.” Inslee went on a lengthy Twitter rant in efforts to convince the state legislature to pass legislation to tax carbon dioxide emissions. Washington residents voted down Inslee’s last carbon tax plan by a wide margin in 2016. (Tweet) The state legislature’s session ends in 59 days, on March 8. Democrats have a slim majority in both state legislative chambers. Inslee wants lawmakers to pass a tax on carbon
The Yale University psychology professor who called President Trump “mentally impaired” appears to lack a valid license to practice psychiatry in her home state of Connecticut. The professor, Bandy Lee, made the headlines over the past few days when she made a diagnosis of the president as suffering from a “mental impairment” that would disqualify him from the highest office in the land. Following Lee’s comments, the American Psychiatric Association released a statement on Tuesday warning members of its profession to refrain from making public diagnoses of public figures like Trump without a proper medical exam. “We at the APA call for an
Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) said Wednesday that while he supports additional barriers at the U.S.-Mexico border, he believes some of the estimated costs for President Trump’s border wall are too high to justify. "I remain a fiscal conservative, even on the wall, so I’m not excited about spending $20, $30, $40 billion on a wall. I’m still a believer that we don’t have money to spend. We’re $700 billion in the hole,” Paul said on CNN. “And while I will vote for money for barriers, I’m not voting for $40 billion for barriers,” Paul added. A report last week detailed Trump’s
EILAT, Israel — The founders of the controversial opposition research firm Fusion GPS admitted that they helped the researcher hired to compile the infamous, largely discredited 35-page dossier on President Donald Trump to share the document with Sen. John McCain. The goal of providing the dossier to McCain, the Fusion GPS founders explained, was to pass the information contained in the questionable document to the U.S. intelligence community under the Obama administration. The disclosure raises questions about whether McCain knew that the information he delivered to the intelligence community was actually an opposition document reportedly funded by the Hillary Clinton
Anti-Trump conservative Bill Kristol said Tuesday on MSNBC that it will be “amusing” if Trump voters get “betrayed” by the president on immigration. Washington Post writer Eugene Robinson, appearing on MSNBC’s “MTP Daily,” said, “What I’m seeing from immigration hardliners on Twitter is the line that, ‘the president who we elected to give us a wall and no amnesty, is going to give us amnesty and no wall.’ So that’s sort of the attack on…” Kristol said, “If you put your faith in demagogues–you’re going to be disappointed.” He added, “He didn’t believe any of it. Trade is the one
Like millions of people around the world, I was reassured to learn that Donald Trump is a "Very Stable Genius." You see, if he weren’t — if he were instead an erratic, vindictive, uninformed, lazy, would-be tyrant — we might be in real trouble. Let’s be honest: This great nation has often been led by mediocre men, some of whom had unpleasant personalities. But they generally haven’t done too much damage, for two reasons. First, second-rate presidents have often been surrounded by first-rate public servants. Look, for example, at a list of Treasury secretaries since the nation’s founding; while not everyone who
Hillary Clinton´s top aide Huma Abedin and her skeevy perv husband Anthony Weiner have reportedly withdrawn their pending divorce case. The New York Post reports that Abedin was set to appear Wednesday in a Manhattan court for a compliance conference with a judge concerning their divorce. "Instead one of her attorneys submitted paperwork signed by both parties agreeing to end the case, a court source told The Post."The judge said the case has been “discontinued.”Abedin finally filed for the split last May just hours after Weiner pleaded guilty to sexting with a minor. She had stood by the much-mocked former
