Harvey Weinstein hires top lawyers, says
they’ll show no ´criminal charges warranted´

New York Daily News, by Peter Sblendorio

Original Article

Disgraced moviemaker Harvey Weinstein doesn´t think the NYPD and the Manhattan District Attorney have a criminal case against him — and he´s employed a pair of high-profile attorneys to try and prove it. Weinstein has hired lawyers Blair Berk and Ben Brafman in the wake of the NYPD confirming they´re gathering evidence against the filmmaker for a potential rape charge and reports that Manhattan DA Cy Vance Jr. is making plans to seek an indictment. "We do not believe an indictment of Mr. Weinstein is imminent," a spokesperson for Weinstein said in a statement. "A formal presentation will be made on Mr.

Harvey is famous, wealthy enough to hire big gun lawyers, guilty as hell and feels entitled to freedom.
But unlike O.J., he has no race card to pull and there will be no crowd outside the courthouse pressuring the jury for his release.

I am sure the lawyers will show that, but a judge and jury will decide the matter.

White House military personnel removed

Three military personnel have been reassigned from their White House jobs amid allegations that they had improper contact with foreign women while traveling with President Trump on his recent trip to Asia, according to officials familiar with the situation. The service members worked for the White House Communications Agency, a specialized military unit that helps provide the president, vice president, Secret Service and other officials with secure communications. The military is scrutinizing three Army noncommissioned officers who allegedly broke curfew during Trump’s trip to Vietnam this month, officials said.

NOVEMBER 21, 2017 —Darren Triplow has an unusual occupation. He flies helicopters in Rwanda to help conservationists watch for poachers illegally hunting black rhinos. To unwind when he’s at his home base in Washington, D.C., he’ll sometimes settle in front of the television. But it’s not the weekend game that he turns on. It’s the Hallmark Channel. “I like the content. The shows are family-friendly – it’s not riddled with violence like you see in a lot of shows on these days. And there’s usually always a happy ending to it,” says Mr. Triplow, who has been a fan of Hallmark’s

President Donald Trump´s short-lived communications director Anthony Scaramucci didn´t have much luck shopping his book with major publishers. In the months after getting ousted from the White House, Scaramucci sought a publisher to put out a book, which at one point was titled "I Did It My Way," about his 10 days as Trump´s communications director. A proposal for the book that was circulated to several major publishers earlier this summer and shared with Business Insider promised a "tell-all" to dish on his bizarre ouster from the White House as well as his "countless other interactions involving Sean Spicer,

Last Thursday, after a photograph emerged of Senator Al Franken either groping or pretending to grope a sleeping woman, Leeann Tweeden, with whom he’d been traveling on a 2006 U.S.O. tour, I wrote that he should resign. Almost as soon as it was published I started having second thoughts. I spent all weekend feeling guilty that I’d called for the sacrifice of an otherwise decent man to make a political point. Then I saw the news that a woman named Lindsay Menz accused Franken of grabbing her butt while they posed for a photo at the Minnesota State Fair in 2010,

With all the scandals in the news, liberals are turning on President Clinton. MSNBC’s Chris Hayes reckons that the “center left” is “overdue for a real reckoning” with Mr. Clinton. The Times’ Michelle Goldberg says, “I believe Juanita,” a reference to Mrs. Broaddrick, who in the late 1990s alleged that in 1978, Mr. Clinton, then Arkansas’ attorney-general, raped her at a hotel. Mr. Clinton has long denied the charge. Chelsea Handler tweets an apology to Mrs. Broaddrick. Ross Douthat, referring to the special prosecutor who turned Mr. Clinton over to Congress for impeachment for perjury and obstruction, asks, “What if

What is it about that photograph of the Treasury secretary, Steven Mnuchin, and his wife, Louise Linton, holding a sheet of dollar bills that has so captivated America’s journalistic elites? The chief fashion critic of the New York Times, Vanessa Friedman, fingered Ms. Linton’s black leather gloves. “Black leather, after all — unlike, say, brown leather — is one of the most emotive sartorial symbols in the wardrobe, imbued with a host of cultural and historical associations for almost everyone,” Ms. Friedman wrote. “It is the de facto outfit of villains everywhere, from generic Nazis with their black leather trench

Newly revealed pictures show Sen. Al Franken grabbing self-described feminist Arianna Huffington on her bottom and breasts. The never-before-published images, taken for a magazine in 2000 and obtained exclusively by The Post, include a number of frames showing the former “Saturday Night Live” star grabbing the media mogul’s buttocks as they pose back to back. An even more shocking snap shows the pair posing on a bed, with Franken cupping Huffington’s breast with one hand. “Franken was clowning around, but it really isn’t funny,” said a source from the shoot. “That’s his tactic, pretend like it’s all a big joke. Talk show host and journalist Charlie Rose was the latest to come under fire over sexual harassment allegations. The Washington Post dropped the newest bomb on Monday: Eight women, including three on the record, claimed Rose allegedly made unwanted sexual advances, including inappropriate phone calls, groping and appearing naked in front of them. Some were shocked to hear the allegations, thought not if you´ve been watching Last Week Tonight. Host John Oliver has long poked fun at Rose and his CBS This Morning co-hosts for their awkward, innuendo-filled banter. Yet in light of the new allegations, those moments feel less hilariously

And so the liberal Democrat double standard plays out again. By now, we are well aware of the extraordinary predilection that certain prominent liberal Democrats — and their bagmen, donors, and fundraisers — have for sexually harassing women, objectifying women, using women as playthings and sex objects, even while giving the other kind of lip service to the “dignity of women.” From the vehicular bridge spans of Ted Kennedy to the antics within the John Kennedy White House, from the Bill Clinton state house in Little Rock to his oval office and under his desk in D.C., from the Harvey Weinstein

Democrats have been foiled time and again from claiming the moral high ground on sexual misconduct thanks in large part to their decision in the 1990s to ignore, excuse and rebut the well-documented sexual transgressions of the president. After 25 years, however, some liberals finally are asking whether it’s time to deal with their Bubba problem. “It’s only taken 20 years, but the tide seems to finally be turning

Douthat’s mea culpa op-ed in this past weekend’s paper, in which he confesses that he and others may have been wrong to dismiss Bill Clinton’s indefensible behavior, will serve as the official political obituary for Clinton, Inc. A federal judge on Monday permanently blocked President Trump’s executive order to cut funding from so called “sanctuary cities.” Trump’s order would have removed some federal funds from cities that limit their cooperation with U.S. immigration authorities. U.S. District Court Judge William Orrick rejected the Trump administration’s argument that the measure only applies to a relatively small pool of money. Orrick also said that Trump cannot set fresh conditions on spending that Congress has previously approved. Monday’s ruling came in lawsuits brought by two California counties, Santa Clara and San Francisco.

While Wenz said all of the school’s restrooms were technically open to cops, the college prefers they stick to those in the isolated West End Building, “rather than walking across either quad to use the

Over the last few days, I’ve had a number of conversations with both right- and left-leaning friends about the political futures of Al Franken and Roy Moore. Without equating the severity of the alleged offenses (Moore’s are obviously worse), I’ve been struck by the extent to which people across the political spectrum will tolerate misconduct in politicians that they’d never, ever tolerate in their own workplaces. In most functioning corporations, if there’s pictorial evidence that a senior executive groped a woman, then that executive is forced to resign. If there are known, credible allegations that an applicant for a senior
