Mila Kunis trolled Mike Pence,
and now people are ´boycotting´ Jim Beam

Louisville Courier, by Bailey Loosemore

What has the world come to when even bourbon gets caught up in politics? (Actually, don´t answer that.) Over the weekend, bourbon brand Jim Beam got dragged into the fight over women´s rights after its spokeswoman, actress Mila Kunis, revealed that she´s been sending monthly donations to Planned Parenthood in Vice President Mike Pence´s name. See, Kunis doesn´t agree with Pence´s non-wavering stance against abortion rights. And as a guest on TBS´s "Conan," she told host Conan O´Brien that she chose to voice her disagreement by adding his name to a list of recurring donations made to the women´s health care provider.

Sick of news stories based on Tweets.
I agree with sentiments expressed here but ixnay ithway the eettways.
A few tweet facts.
1. It is a continuous stream. A new tweet moves last one down. In a matter of minutes a tweet is gone. Why does this matter? If you aren´t glued to the screen on Twitter you missed it.
2. In a nation of 360,000,000 people how many are glued to Twitter? Do you personally know anyone? I don´t.
3. It´s lazy reporting. Picture a reporter trolling Twitter looking for any titillating nugget. "OMG, did he say that!?! This is news. Gotta hurry so I get the scoop. Pulitzer maybe. OMG OMG"
Now step back. Picture the following. Real people, real leaders, real workers, real parents are not glued to Twitter.

The Left started the way of boycotting sponsors to motivate corporate change. Whenever the Right uses a similar strategy, the Left cries ´foul´.

It can be effective; but do we really like the way everything in life is now politicized?

Arizona Senate Primary Battle Officially Kicks Off
Roll Call, by Bridget Bowman    Original Article
Posted By: tisHimself- 1/15/2018 5:08:49     Post Reply
The Arizona Senate primary officially kicked off Friday, and it’s going to be a battle — with war planes and all. Republican Rep. Martha McSally launched her Senate run at the Tucson Jet Center on Friday morning and will travel to other areas of the state later in the day. She donned a blue flight suit to fly in a World War II-era AT-6 trainer to Phoenix, and then to Prescott. McSally, of course, is piloting the plane herself. “Fly, fight and win. That’s our plan,” said McSally, a second-term congresswoman and the first female pilot to fly in combat.

Republicans hoping to hold on to the Arizona Senate seat currently held by Sen. Jeff Flake (R) face an increasingly tumultuous primary environment, with firebrand former sheriff Joe Arpaio entering the race from the right and Rep. Martha McSally trying to win over President Trump’s supporters without alienating more moderate general election voters. The Tuesday announcement from Arpaio, whose criminal contempt conviction Trump pardoned last year, came just days before McSally joined the primary. While Arpaio made his name as an immigration hard-liner and promoter of the discredited conspiracy theory that former President Obama wasn’t born in the United States, McSally

Federal prosecutors have long insisted the goal of a fraud scheme at Pilot Flying J was to boost the truck stop giant’s profit and market share, and this week they served up numbers to try to prove it. Jurors in U.S. District Court in Chattanooga this week heard testimony and saw financial records showing that Pilot Flying J’s margin on diesel fuel sales, the number of truck stops it controlled and the amount of diesel fuel it sold all grew substantially during the time of the fraud at issue in the ongoing trial of the firm’s former president and three subordinates. It would rank as one of the greatest political upsets of 2018 and a stunning rebuke to Trumpism: a gay Latina Democrat grabbing hold of the country’s biggest red state. But is Texas ready for Lupe Valdez? The question was first posed in Dallas in 2004, when Valdez scored a surprise victory to become the nation’s first openly gay female Hispanic sheriff on the same night that George W Bush secured a second term in the White House. She won re-election three times in Dallas county before announcing last month that she would resign to stand for Texas governor. Born in San Antonio,

A Civil Defense employee is set to be retrained after a shocking blunder on Saturday morning, when a mistaken alert warning of an inbound ballistic missile sent thousands fleeing for shelter. Lots of the news from sub-Saharan Africa is about war, famine, poverty or political upheaval. So it’s understandable if many Americans think most Africans who immigrate to the United States are poorly educated and desperate. Research tells another story. While many are refugees, large numbers are beneficiaries of the diversity-visa program aimed at boosting immigration from underrepresented nations. And on average, African immigrants are better educated than people born in the U.S. or the immigrant population as a whole.
